Thanks so much for the update and all your hard work on the F E as well!!! :thumbsup2

Is there any talk about a cruise meet on facebook? There's been talk of doing one at 3:00 at the promenade lounge on the 1st day. Is this still a go??

Yes Dave, there is a new thread on Facebook on this subject and it seems like 3pm at the Promenade lounge is a go!

:)

Hi Sil, we are husband and wife (in case it's not obvious lol). Thanks for keeping up with all this! :)

I think a hotel that advertises as being in the Times Square or theatre district area would be centrally located.

Hi,

That is a great map! Quick question... Will we pass the SOL when we cruise out of NY? Please excuse me if someone already asked. I just signed up for the cruise, had surgery Friday and cut my toe Saturday so I only read the first couple pages and now jumped down to the 30s.

Thanks, Christa pixiedust:

Hi Again,

I'm sorry for the late entry (by a day so hopefully okay) as I booked the cruise at 9:50-11:30pm Thursday with the DVC sale (and yes we are B2B for 9/2, 9/7 and 9/12 since the cruises were only $649 each), had outpatient spine surgery Friday am, cut my toe Saturday (thankfully though deep no stiches were needed) and rested yesterday. Today was my 1st opp to find this thread. So, I'm hoping you can add me (Christa 39) and my scooter riding mom (Cathie 65) to the list for cabin 7024 please. This is my mom's 1st FE. Though I bought her and my dad a hanger for our cruise last year it was just for our 2 cabins. And though she has her pouches for them and I have my pouches for me and my DH, there is only 1 fish and so I will use my pouch where my mom's gift can go in "John's" pouch. I would be so grateful if you could accommodate us please.

Thanks, Christa pixiedust:

Hi, We have just booked and paid for this cruise tonight can we join the FE group please there are 6 of us including me, DH, DS17, DS15, DD13, DS11?
I have sent a request to join the facebook page.
This is our first cruise and i am so excited we took days of WDW to be able to do it:woohoo:

Ooh, where did you find your Sorcerer Mickey graphic for your signature?

Thanks, Christa pixiedust:

Hi, everyone,

I have long been a "lurker" on the DIS, but never posted before...:wave2:

I just booked this cruise, and I am really excited! I'm 29, and I will be traveling solo. I love Disney, but this will be my first Disney Cruise---and my second cruise ever. I'm so excited that DCL is leaving out of NYC now, since I live in central NJ (just outside Princeton).

I'd love to participate in any planned meetups, but I don't think I'll have time to get a FE together this time. Sounds like so much fun, though!

Julie :flower3:

P.S. I go to NYC quite often, so if anyone is still looking for tips, I'd be glad to chime in!

Hi Julie,

I'm a 39 yr old Disney kid who has loved Disney since doing the WDWCP in 1993 the year after i had cancer who will be traveling with mom, but she tends to do her own thing 1/2 the days due to getting up late and using a scooter. This is my 7th cruise with the 9/7 and 9/12 being 8 & 9 where all 3 will be in cabin 7024 if you ever want to hang out just give me a shout :-)

~ Christa pixiedust:

We will also be on this cruise(Floyd and Kelly), just 2 of us, a 50th birthday gift for my Disney crazy husband :)
We have been on several other cruises, but this will be our first Disney cruise and the first cruise without the kids so we are really looking forward to it!!!!

In fact, I didn't think we'll join as I'm sailing with my mom, but she actually just asked me today if we're doing FE this time! :lmao: so I guess we'll be.

Hi Christa, I'm your neighbor in 7026. Wow you are doing B2B2B? Wish I'd thought of that. No, wait, I maxed my credit card doing this one. Have you done B2B before? I did the 6/10 and 6/15 cruises and that was my first B2B. What a great time we had doing that! DCL gathered us together in Sessions, walked us out, we waited a few minutes until check-in opened and about 20 minutes until we could board again. Back on the ship by 10:30. They told us to go to the Cove Cafe where there was free coffees and munchies. I never found specialty coffees my thing before but Calvin set me up with I think a caramel frappé and now I'm hooked. But only on Disney.:cool1:

Hope your surgery went well and your toe is healing. Sounds like quite a weekend but best to get that stuff out of the way before your cruises.:goodvibes

I'll be on board with my DF Patty from church and a retired friend from teaching and her husband are also coming. They are newbies and I can't wait to show them the ship. I'll give you a knock to meet you and your mother. Or maybe I'll see you hanging off the verandah. Coffee, danish, and fruit on the verandah every morning, can't wait. See you then. Karen

P.S. I think that's a great map too. Thanks silmarg.:)

Hi Karen,

Wow, it will be fun to 'know' a DIS neighbor right next door! And yes, I looked at what the cruises would have cost and it was like buying 1 get 2 free with the DVC deal they emailed out last week, so I could *not* pass up the B2B2B! It also will make my DM Gold by the 3rd sailing and it will help me get to Platinum for next year. My DH and I are doing the 3 night member cruise in January. And we are looking to add on a 4 night right after, so I would be Platinum for that 2nd cruise. Wow, I didn't know DCL makes reboarding so easy and yummy!

And I guess since we have the same cabin for all 3 we can leave our items in the drawers/closets? pixiedust:

Yes, thank you! I have one more OP surgery this Friday too on a different disk and hopefully that will make getting around a lot easier. My DM, Cathie, unfortunately has to be in a scooter. They didnt have a disabled room for all 3 so that's how we ended up your neighbor. They said we could plug her scooter in by the elevators. And the room reports say our room is close to the elevators w/o being noisy. Oh and an ironic thing about you saying getting these things like my toe out of the way now... While waiting at Patient First (urgent care) was a boy in his teens hobbled out on crutches while the mom said shaking her head, "I can't believe this happened the day before we leave for a cruise!" :crutches:

Looking forward to meeting you, Patty and your newbie friends! :wave2:

Yes, that was a big plus--not having to pack again. Are you driving up? I parked at the terminal and it was fine. There is both an elevator which is freight size and an escalator. Come to think of it 15 days x $35 is a bit steep. Almost like flying for both of you. I got pixie-dusted for the 2-night cruise 3 days before leaving for the 5-night cruise. When they heard I was doing B2B they extended it for both cruises. 9B to a 5B, my first time with a verandah. I really hope all this doesn't mean that sales out of NYC are so poor they won't come back here. I don't think I'll ever get tired of going to Canada. I guess I better start saving now in case I can do a B2B2B someday. Do you decorate your door?

We will pass quite close to the statue of Liberty. We will also go under the Verrazzano Bridge.

Blue line is the approx route.

Feel better!

Is there a formal night on this cruise? I looked at the posted Navigator and it has one day as "Dress up" but not the usual "Formal Attire".

No formal night, just dress up. I'll wear pants and a sparkle top, DH will wear dress shirt with tie, but no jacket unless I can fit his sports coat in the suitcase.

Either my DH will drive us and he will drive back to Baltimore. But he has a 100 person family reunion @ 4pm on the 2nd so we are looking into our neighbor's Town Car/Suburban service. Just like I found Limos.com with a Town Car/Suburban that will p/u from the pier to go to Baltimore on the 17th b/c he will be in WDW @ the Shades of Green for a work conference. Turns out it is cheaper than the flight when you add ground transportation, tips, etc. and the rate from Limos.com includes tip.

Don't you just love when they sprinkle pixie dust!?! I've seen over the years during our annual Disney trips since 1993 when I was on the WDWCP at Epcot that some times the pixie dust swings in both directions. Meaning it was quite unexpected and then times when things should have gone better and pixie dust was warranted but Tink was just fresh out, lol! Glad she had some for you!

Funny I thought the same thing about the low fares out of NY. But then I thought how cool if they came to the Port of Baltimore (just a 1/2 hour from my house) that they could tap into the whole Mid-Atlantic area (NY, Philly, Bmore, DC, Richmond to NC) with 3 other cruise lines like Royal Carribean, etc. Speaking of Canada, has anyone said what the temp is like in September?

I'm pretty sure I will decorate seeing as though we will be on for 15 nights. How about you?

Thanks for lining the route in blue as I've never seen the SOL when I've been to NY. And knowing every day brings me closer to the Magic just helps me to feel all that much better :flower3:

DCL told me on 7/13/12 that it's just Semi-Formal night, Pirates night and 3 casual nights.

Town car sounds good. I live near Cherry Hill across the river from Philly if you want to swing past and pick me up. :rotfl2: As for temperatures in Sept. I think the weather should be perfect. It was in the 70s in early June with sunny days. Their lilacs and rhododendrons were just starting and ours had finished long before. It was sunny everyday so even on land you didn't need much. At sea on Deck 10 maybe a windbreaker. Pirate night was very cool and windy. I had either my fleece or a windbreaker I can't remember which and I needed both. Again I was on Deck 10 and the wind was really blowing. Deck 9 would have been more comfortable especially with all the people down there partying but I like the fireworks from Deck 10.

So, I guess if we get the Suburban it would be big enough for several people, lol! ;) Hmm, 70s in June may mean colder in September? I'll be packing for both warm/chilly then especially for Deck 10 fireworks as I love them too. All this talk and anticipation is making me wired and driving my DH nuts as he is trying to sleep. :rotfl2: Sweet Magical Dreams! :upsidedow
