Any suggestions on how I can convince my sister she NEEDS to be on the ship before 1pm? She just doesn't get this... I need to tips...

I think you have to tell her about the lunch buffet in great detail (plus, you've already paid for that meal, you might as well take advantage of it). Also, you want to get to your cabin at 1pm (because between 1 and the dismeet at 3, you are going to have hardly enough time to get settled into your cabin and unpacked). And to get to the cabin by 1, you need to have lunch by at least noon which means you need to be checked in by 11am.

Just my theory on why earlier is better.

Rick and I will be travelling down to the Port on the DCL buses. Anyone have an idea what time they leave from the resorts, in particular POR? I know they'll probably tell us when we check in but......I just can't wait

It has been a while since we have taken the DCL bus to the Port, and I kinda recall that they started leaving at about 11-12, but then each resort is different.

Yeah, you are probably right. Got there for the PC at 9 a.m. and you were first in line and we were about 10th until that van pulled up with 50 people unloading right there on the sidewalk.

Ken-you better get a wake up call at 4 a.m.

Scott-do we get drinks and danish delivered by DCL in the line (kinda like the sleepover on the ship?)

Another reason to get there early is to be able to soak in everything without rushing. Even if you've seen it before, you still get that feeling when you drive over the bridge, when you step into the atrium, etc.

I'm way behind. I haven't even started packing yet and we leave Thursday afternoon. I just haven't had the time. I plan to start tonight.

I don't think Ozzy has any idea yet that we're leaving. He gets to stay at home though and Jason's parents are taking care of him while we're gone, so it won't be quite as bad.

Thanks for the cell phone list. I spent quite awhile trying to figure out how to save it to a file on my desktop computer then download it to my PDA. I even installed new software to my PDA! This is a remarkable feat for the computer challanged one in the family. Amazing how you all make me a better person

Pirate hat arrived today! Complete with beautiful pale pink ostrich plumes. I'm going to be a princess yet. Decorated it with pearls and rhinestones. Pink of course. Just have to keep it away from Bubba, he loves feathers.

You have major sympathy from me. I am putting in a 50+ hour week this week, just trying to get everything finished up before we go. I'll probably be here late on Friday - Murphy hates me!

My only saving grace is that I am pretty much done packing - did it over the weekend cause I knew had bad my week looked.

You are not alone! Lamar is working all week and his plate is full. While he is gone his pet project is on review. So lots of pressure as well as time.

Just think of the great time you will have with everyone onboard when you do get there. (and you didn't use as much vacation time.)

I will be at work until 5pm on Friday and DH will not get home until 8am on Saturday. Our flight leaves at 12:25pm Saturday, so we will have to leave as soon as he can get a shower and change clothes. I am almost finished with my packing.

I'm in the same boat, but, it could have been alot worse. The young lady that was going to manage my store while we were on the cruise, QUIT sat. When she came to work on Sat., she had a bad attitude, words were said and she walked out. She was hoping to come back to work on Mon., thinking she had me over a barrel, but what she did not know was I already had a back plan in the works. I had been in contact with an ex employee that managed the store several years ago, she left when she got married and had 2 babies. She was more than willing to come back to work. So I have been retraining her all this week. Needless to say, the other young ladies is not very happy now...
