I'm still not ready to talk about how I feel about this day. I was living in Charlton, Massachusetts at the time and some of the planes left from Boston- when you would tell people you lived in MA, they would say comments about the planes left from that area- like it was our fault. Kind of weird. My brother works in Manhatten- we were lucky he was okay but he knows 173 people who died. (My in-laws live on Long Island) I still get anxious on this day. I think if you lived on the east coast during the event, that it was harder on you than if you lived farther away. There is more I could say, but I won't.

You could of heard a pin drop in the City of Boston!
With Flights that take off over the city.

All I knew at the time, this is what we heard 60' under ground!
Was a plane hit the World Trade Center, We have one in Boston.
less than a mile from the tunnel location!
We all recieved instructions to evacuate!
As they did not know the extent of the problem.
Was an erie feeling in the days to follow with all air traffic suspended!
from Logan Airport.
Was almost a week, Before air traffic resumed. (South Boston is in the departing flight path)

We flew United Airlines, this past weekend and Actually left from the same gate that Flight 93 left Boston.

There is now a plaque there in the memory of All.

Others have told me the will not fly, on or around this day!

We refuse to let the actions of others prevent us from Being American and the Freedom that come with Said!

This does not compare, to the Folks that lost the one's they love in the Horrific Tragedy!

Rick and I will be travelling down to the Port on the DCL buses. Anyone have an idea what time they leave from the resorts, in particular POR? I know they'll probably tell us when we check in but......I just can't wait

I will try it later. I have been online for over 1 1/2 hours, mostly with work stuff. I'm done for the day. I'll post tomorrow morning. Maybe I'll check quick, but I'm done with the computer in 5 minutes.

OK I feel like heel - but thought I'd post and tell everyone what a wonderful DH I have - I was feeling just "a little frustrated" (imagine )cause of packing when DH told me - just pack the necessities and formals in a SMALLER suitcase and he will treat me to a shopping spree to pick up whatever I need in FL.

Imagine that - although I wonder if he didn't do it so that I'd get off his back about packing? Have to think about that one. Anyway, should I remind him how much I can buy? Nah - why add to the stress? Anyway, feeling and so I agreed to the smaller suitcase - but now I still need one for the shoes! Oh well, what's a girl to do

You have major sympathy from me. I am putting in a 50+ hour week this week, just trying to get everything finished up before we go. I'll probably be here late on Friday - Murphy hates me!

My only saving grace is that I am pretty much done packing - did it over the weekend cause I knew had bad my week looked.

Thanks Tony and everyone else who is in this boat for posting. I knew there were more of us out there but needed to hear from some to get a boost to get through this week!

Kborn, good thing you had a back-up plan and it worked out for you. It's nice when a plan comes together!

I do believe they give out numbers for boarding. Starting with 2 and up.

That is what they did for us when we went on the Magic in June.

But they do board Conciere and elderly/disability first and then start with the numbers. There isn't a line anymore - you just hang around the terminal

Anyone else have any recent changes?

I'm in the same boat, but, it could have been alot worse. The young lady that was going to manage my store while we were on the cruise, QUIT sat. When she came to work on Sat., she had a bad attitude, words were said and she walked out. She was hoping to come back to work on Mon., thinking she had me over a barrel, but what she did not know was I already had a back plan in the works. I had been in contact with an ex employee that managed the store several years ago, she left when she got married and had 2 babies. She was more than willing to come back to work. So I have been retraining her all this week. Needless to say, the other young ladies is not very happy now...

Keith, way to think ahead. Besides you're probably better off this way anyway.

I've have always taken the Disney cruise bus from WDW to the port. They are in no hurry to get you there early. It used to drive me crazy. I always felt I was rushing instead of enjoying every moment by coming earlier. This time will be different with a earlier arrival. This is a must.

We take the DCL buses too. This will be the first time we've stayed on property before the cruise though. Even though it's more of a hassel, we take ME back to the airport and catch one of the earliest DCL buses leaving from MCO that way we get there quicker.

... MATH ALERT.... we got roughly 4 days 22 hours and 33 minutes til boarding. Thats' like having 7,113 minutes til boarding to generate 3,183 posts. So we need to average one posting every 2 minutes and 14.08 seconds.

I'm not up for that kind of pace without about 30-40 others who will help!

But I think we should make the next 1000 mark or two, maybe.

Okay, with all you people already on vacation or finishing up "one more day" or heading to the airport tomorrow; I need moral support. Is there anyone else out there like me that has to put in a full work week -- I have to be in the office until 6pm on Friday! (And time is creeping by because it is slow here.)

We're not jettin' til Friday evening. SO we'll be 'round til friday afternoon California time, of course. THEN we might poke in just before sailng as we have free wifi in the hotel.

This is a Prevacation week for me at work!

In my business, that means I get to look in the hole with 4 other guys all day!

Dang good thing my spouse does not read the DIS much...

... ideas like THIS she does not need to hear! LOL! Seriously - you're lucky to have such a nice guy to hang with for-ever! We just celebrated our 12th anniversery on Sunday and all I got was 3 pairs of dockers and some socks. The usual deal after 22 years together! And I am perfectly happy with the stuff.

Actually, I'm not sure how they call the numbers. I have been the first one on and thru the turnstile now for the last 3 cruises. But I didn't try, the nice lady just pointed to me and Harry and we followed her. If it works, go for it.

My new found spring- has sprung... I'm exhausted! I can't wait to go home and go to bed- just a few more hours of work tonight. One more day of work (Wednesday) and then 3 hours of class on Thursday. Little more shopping and then I'm done.


Peter- I've seen that plaque and the rocking chairs. Still makes me cry. I have flown on Sept. 11 twice- as a family. If we are gonna go- I'd rather have it be together.
