Her new name will be RUMoTracy! :lmao:
They walked all the way to the Southernmost Point.. .so they were really really thirsty......:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
That is great! Wish I could have been there. Sounds like a wonderful time. She can rest up during the rest of the cruise for the 11 Nights in Paradise. :teeth:

Hey! I resemble that remark! We are having a great time! We had brunch this morning with Christink and her mom. Great people, we had a blast!! So much so that we took it to Key West and spent the day on Duval and Whitehead streets. And the Green Parrot is no where near the Southernmost point. Unless you want to say it's closer than the ship is. Oh and Leslie, the bartender at the Green Parrot had a cool Steelers shirt on (something about some local pizza place in Pittsburgh). Took a picture for you! All other tasks I had for Key West have been done. Now it's pool time!! Later!!
Hey RUMOTracy. Told you it was a great place. :thumbsup2
Which did you have....
the rootbeer barrel or the lunch box? :rotfl2:

Did you make it to the Bull & Whistle? :lmao:

Hey the top of the 4 ACES page (page 1111 top)

Good Evening Everyone.
Hope the weekend was WONDERful.

Hey Eeyore1928. Tailgated at the ND-PSU game yesterday. It was a blast. Hated all those "Tradition" tees, but hey that's what they get into. :confused3
Did the Chocolate Cafe thing late last night and watched the Bears kick Packer but at the Between the Buns sports bar. Was a great weekend.

I did miss the 1 week countdown at 5 today. Can just imagine hearing that ship's horn now. Looking forward to seeing everyone. It will be a memorable cruise.

Everyone have a great and short week.

Thank you all for the birthday messages. I'm in packing mode now. Got the dox from the travel agent last Wednesday. Trying to pack sensibly (with far less that what we travel with) and remembering to remove the hand lotion from the purse (no carry-on liquids, you know). Even though, I'm trying to pack lightly, just how do I limit the shoes? Need black formal shoes, strappy dinner sandals, beach sandals, sneakers for exercise, etc.

Happy packing!

Sailing Sandy (6 days & counting)

Thank you all for kind words and prayers for Austin. And an extra thank you for Keith and the funny joke for him. He is in good hands at UAB in Birmingham. Please continue to keep him in your prayers, :goodvibes Cancer has pained us for years now. Our niece (21) is currently in remission (non hodgskins lymphoma) and our great niece (only 3) is also in remission (neuroblasphoma). Make a wish paid for niece(21) a dream wedding. They also paid for niece(3) a family trip to WDW. I would give my entire life savings to Make a Wish. What a PHENOMENAL organization.

An EXTRA thank you for all of your Anniversary wishes. We spent our 1st Anniversary working, although we got to stop in Nampa, Idaho yesterday and have breakfast with my MIL, SIL, BIL and nephew. It was very nice to see them. My dh got me 5 Knifty Knitters that I didn't already have for our anniversary. I am a bit of a knitaholic. I turn out scarfs and hats like nobody's business and now I have even more tools to help me feed my addiction for yarnworks. He forgot that I had taken my yarn stash off the truck monday when we were home. So I have no yarn, but if I did I'd surely be working on something now.
Kay- Beautiful baby pic! :cloud9:
Capn Crash- A very happy anniversary to you!
And happy everything to everyone I missed!

Tracy, I hope you are having great fun! But save some energy for the 11 day!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

About the MAKE A WISH foundation (MAW)....

... I've been volunteering off and on with them for over a decade (out here for the tri-cunties). After serving as primary care giver for my Mother 15 years ago I found that I could relate to the kids that the Make A Wish foundation serves. I am glad you have found their work to be so constructive. That's what I thought 15-14 years ago! And may I ... did you know that the Make A Wish foundation has one of the LOWEST administrative fee ratioes of any non-profit? Especially compared to those other copy cat "wish" organizations which have FAT administrative or MARKETING expense ratioes? IE - more of the money we raise goes towards wish fuifillment then to line the pockets of administration or marketing efforts... and I am in marketing.

This is the breakout for how MAW spends it's money...
icn.piechart.gif

This is where the funds come from for MAW
logo.make-a-wish.gif

http://www.wish.org/

And did you know that when Disney had a ship on the west coast they took a nite to park the ship and host a special fund raising event for the Make A Wish Foundation? They raised a few million that evening and then had a surprise announcement at the event they were adding several million more to the funds raised! And for our chapter - the tri counties - the most common wish request was Disney related. It's somber to think so many ill kids wish for a trip to something Disney and we go so often - or we partake of their nicest type of experience - a Disney Cruise. Well... at least IMHO I think of the Disney Cruise as one of the nicest types of experiences commonly available from Disney. IE - we're all pretty lucky folks to be able to do this voyage. Even if it's in a cat 12 or 11 (like us :) ).

Oh - and Thank You for the kind anniversery thoughts! And may I say it was not obvious ~ or I had forgotten on account of my "senior moments" ... LOL .... that you two were just finishing your "honeymoon" year? What a treat! Ya know... it's been 12 years for Alicia and I and it still feels like our "honey moon" year! And I would encourage you and everyone to strive for this too! No harm in that, eh? Unless your honeymoon year was a tough one.... :confused3 .

OK... TTFN!

WOW! I knew that Make a WIsh was wonderful but I had no idea! Our niece, Heather, that had her wedding paid for by MAW got EVERYTHING, right down to her dress, pictures, reception for 200, Kevin is an ordained minister so he officiated, it was beautiful. She was engaged at 17 so when her doctors wouldn't approve a trip to WDW or DL (she was too ill to fly) she wished for a wedding. Our other niece, Georgia (3) was taken to WDW because when asked what her wish would be she said to be a princess. princess: This poor child has had cancer since 3 months of age. I still remember her talking to Kevin on the phone after her trip and telling him that SHE was now a Princess because they gave her a button to put on her shirt (the Give Me the World one) and everywhere she went they called her princess Georgia and she was given gifts galore!!! MAW provided a van to travel to WDW, hotel, gifts (it was december), all meals, gas, the list goes on and on. She is in remission, and her doctors say that she has a chance-but sadly most children that have this type of cancer rarely see teenage years. We have faith! This child feels NO PAIN! She never cries, I guess because she has just always known the pain. I remember when she was in the childrens cancer ward in Jacksonville, FL and she was only about 6 months old and had 2 different types of chemo running through her she never even flinched. The nurse said that this amount of chemo brought grown men to their knees. I guess God spared her the pain. She truly is our little miracle. :wizard: And she will never, EVER forget WDW and all of her Princesses. :lovestruc princess: :lovestruc
We are in a constant state of Honeymoon! That's the only way to be! :cloud9:
Night! I have a LONG day tomorrow! We will be rollin through Orlando tomorrow. I'll give a big air horn blow to all at the world when we pass by!   :moped:

What a story....

.... our chapter gets a few odd wish requests... since we are so close to Hollywood and also because we have so many entertainment types in the region we get cooporative things with some of the fameous who are willing to help. I probably shold not talk about other folks wishes - especially if "I" think they're odd as they were NOT for the recipient. But I must say - the most common thing kids do seem to ask for is a trip to DL or WDW. Rarely do they ask for DCL. And last I asked the average wish we grant runs about $5000 in value or actual expenditure ~ however, the national web site says the average wish costs $6,200 in 2005. A lot of the services are donated or semi-donated at or near cost.... kno what I mean?

This reminds me I should contact the chapter again as since my kids were born I have sort of dropped off the map in all things - including significant involvement at MAW. Especially since the 2nd child came along. Shoot, it's so hard to find even a couple of "productive" hours in a day! But now that both kids will be going into school starting in October - I look forward to recovering some time in the day to do things like I used to do.

Great list Mr Crash!

We'll throw a wrench in it though.

As of today, Kayla is now 4 years old.

Jenna turned 6 awhile back - she just told me she is OVER 6 1/2!

Not that it matters. Jenna was reading the posts along with me and wanted me to make sure I corrected the ages. Yes she is still up! Too much cake and ice cream at her sisters birthday party I guess.

OK ....

Jenna.... let the record show the corrected numbers... you are SIX (6) and your sister is now 4. And the summaries relfect this as well. Thanks for the update. We aim to please here!

Not to throw a wrench into plans or such, but the dismeet scheduled for 3pm Sunday on deck ten, won't we be at the lifeboat drills at that time. We sail at 4pm and the drill is always an hour before that??

Good morning everyone. Can't believe we're less than one week

Happy Birthdays and Happy Anniversary to everyone that I missed.

Get well wishes to Celeste.

Looking forward to meeting everyone soon. :yay: :woohoo:
