I too would like that additional 30 minutes, especially since we will be on California time. However, I think we will probably not sleep much that night anyway. But on the other hand, we did reserve the room with the sleep number bed, so slumbering should not be a problem.

You beat me to the punch with suggesting a Radisson meet. Since I have never been there before, I am open. I have heard that "Grills" is outstanding.
I am open for anything. Let's get the party started!!!

This is from their webpage...

Dining
Overlooking the Radisson Resort at the Port's main waterfall and pool, Flamingo's Restaurant offers the finest dining on the Space Coast and is known for its fabulous buffets. Live entertainment and favorite beverages can be enjoyed at the Radisson Resort at the Port's Flamingo Lounge and Tiki Bar.

What's up with this Tiki Bar?? I say we hit that bad boy up!! :drinking1 :rockband: :drinking: :drinking: And anyplace with a buffet sounds good to me. After 11 months of Jenny Craig, I'll be ready to make up for lost times. :lmao:

Love them both. The top one would make an awsome magnet and T shirt. I do love the Mickey ears. I think if you did the Mickey Ears yourself it would not be a huge challenge. However, if you tried to have it commercialy done...hmm - might be a problem. JMHO

Speaking of magnets....gotta get my creative juices flowing. I made one for almost every day of the PC Repo.

How do you make magnets? :confused3

Just wanted to share some CUTE t-shirt or what-have-you ideas. I found these on another board where people post graphics they have made to share. I can't remember the names of the people who made these, but I think their too cute. Where can I get them made into a shirt? Will every place pitch a fit about the shape of the Mickey Ears? (copyrights and all) The bottom one if my fav.

I love the bottom one. Check with the person who made them if they have had problems making them. Maybe they would add something on the bottom like "Cruising South with Mickey on the Wonder". While you're at it, I would ask them if they could make the backround transparent. If you did magnets yourself (let's say as a give away), you could print them on magnet paper (bought at your local office supply store or through the internet). Commercially done (through Zazzle or CafePress) you may have a problem. We had one last year that was a Survivor logo targeting DCL cruising and we couldn't do it commercially. But if we wanted to do it ourselves, we could either make it an iron on or go to a place like Imagestation (each load our own copy of the graphic in our own album and order a t-shirt). If you made the background transparent, you could choose any color of t-shirt and you wouldn't have a big white square around it. :thumbsup2

The tiki bar area would be a perfect place. It's a round circular bar and is near the pool but not right against it. There are a number of outdoor round tables near it and they are a level above the pool area. It's also next to the hot tub. The pool bar wasn't open when we were there last Thursday. That actually might not be bad because we could always CRASH the place! :rockband: :dancer: :rockband: We'll just need those great lanyards to identify who is in our group. :thumbsup2 My DM (DNana from now on...) stayed there last September, so I've already asked her what she remembers - and if it was open.

Flamingo's is fairly casual in the morning for breakfast, but when we walked by around 4pm they had it all fancied up for dinner. It does overlook the pool areas but I'm kind of into a more casual mood.

They also have a convention center (very small) attached to resort so I could ask about that too.

It would be fun to chat! I wonder if they have internet access at the pool for live pix....

Now I only have one questions - Are we there yet?

Those are really cute!

There are a couple of different ways to make magnets. You can buy magnetic paper that goes through your printer. Then you just print the image like you would on that paper just like printing on a regular page.

You can get small button magnets through internet places like CafePress. I imagine there is a way to do-it-yourself with craft supplies but I've never tried.

You can also buy a roll of magnets at a craft store. It's like tape. The magnet has a backing on one side that you peel off. You use scissors to cut the magnetic strip to the right size and then adhere them to the back of whatever you want. This is what I did for our last cruises. I took a page protector for scrapbooking and put four small strips of magnet on each corner. I printed our door magnets on regular white cardstock. Each day I would swap out the cardstock in the page protector making an ever changing door! There is a whole thread here titled something like "so what does your magnetic door sign look like".

Peter could you help find that thread and paste here? I'm pretty hopeless with that kind of stuff. :badpc:

For the Raddison meet don't forget the fine Scottish resturant across the street from the Raddison.

Count us in at the Raddisson!! :cool1:

Last cruise we ate at Grills (very good!!) the night before departure, I wanted to go there because you can watch the cruise ships go by thought my boys would enjoy that!! We were in the middle of our dinner and all of a sudden one of my boys said...there is a Disney Ship coming, I said "oh....It must be the Wonder" (we were on the Magic)......my son said "No, it's the Magic".....I said it can't be we don't leave until tomorrow!! .....then my husband said..."It is the Magic".....sure enought it was the Magic....my heart sank I thought How could I have screwed up and got the date wrong!!  (I mean how many nightmares do people have about missing the boat!!).... We got up and ran to the pier to watch and here was the Magic with just crew aboard going down the canal!! Yow!! ....just going for a gas run????? :confused3 Who knows but we boarded the next day!! :teeth:

Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Fries, shakes. happy meals, combo meals.

Scottish Resturant = McDonalds. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I know that was bad.

Just checked the Radisson web site and they mention high speed interenet access. This could be interesting to post pics back and forth the evening before the cruise.

My goodness - you have been very busy this morning. I have not even had my coffee yet.

Scott you are a very bad boy. Scottish restaurant - you really had me going.

I like the idea of an internet meet. I was not planning on bringing my laptop. Any other volunteers?

Sounds like the buffet and Tiki Bar are a good idea and then maybe breakfast at Grills to watch the Wonder disembarkation?

We are at the Radisson also. I think we would be up for a Dis Meet. However, depends on when. We wanted to make it to Grills for dinner. On the Westbound PC cruise, we heard a lot of good reviews from those who did a Dis-meet/dinner at Grills.

Hey Scott, if the high speed is wireless, I might be able to help with the picture posts. Sure wil hate to miss you OKW get together this time. :sad2:

I want to go to The RAD / Grills... :lmao: :rolleyes1

I've been had! By a Scott no less.... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Let's see - the high-speed internet access seemed to be wired from what I remember in my room. But I wasn't paying much attention as I didn't have my laptop. I suppose I could actually CALL them. How 20th century... :lmao:

Well - since there are TWO things happening over in O-town, I suggest we have TWO meets in Cape Canaveral! :dancer: party: :rockband: Let's start at the Tiki bar for drinks, pool and fun then migrate to Grills for dinner. What is Grills anyways? :confused3 It's not another one of those Scottish restaurants is it? :lmao: :rotfl:

And Peter - you are definitely welcome to come to our party! :cheer2: :cheer2:
