September 17, 2006 - 11 Night Southern Caribbean Part 2

It was horrible at first and then it finally kicked into gear. Got my Palo Ressies - but as you say there was no offer of High Tea. The excursions went FAST. The only thing I missed was the Catamaran Sail and Snorkel on CC but I will call DCL in the AM and keep trying for that.

Now all I have left to do is Register Heather in the lab and work out the details for the Group Brunch.

Heather fell asleep waiting for me to turn off her light. Yes I am a bad Mom - I let her stay up and watch the Dis channel. After all she napped for almost 4 hours this afternoon. Amazing I can still get an 8 year old to nap. End of school, lots of swim parties and an overnight and she was wiped.

Good Night - or is it Good Morning.

Just curious - who all got the train and which time did you pick. Heather at first siad we should do the 7:45 then changed her mind to the 9:25. So we will still have some time in the afternoon to find something to do. Had not even thought about that. Hmmm - any suggestions? Ah well - now on to the spa if there is anything left. If not - I know they always have specials of the day.

I was not able to book Palo dinner or brunch for more than 1/2 even though the option for 3/4 was there. Had a few problems at first with St. Lucia, but in the end got everything I was looking for. Took about 15 minutes right at 2:00 CDT. Guess I get to leave work early today  (I got in to the office by 3:30 :sad2: )

For those of you that were looking for "High Tea" it is not sold out. It was not there at the 105 mark either. :surfweb:

We are also on the Train but did the early departure, gives more of the day for afterwards. Lynn will say I never let her Sleep, but she can sleep when she gets home, heck she will be retired by then. I think the train will be fun and interesting.

Diving in the three ports it is available, early dive time in St Thomas. Hey that is three days of diving in a row, KEWL. Also doing the early Antigua Island Tour.

Just guessing we will be sending some stuff ahead to OKW as the bags look like they will be full for the flights down. The change to the 50 lb limit is no fun when doing a cruise and bringing dive gear.

Hi Everyone.....o.k.....now I'm thinking did I miss anything....well everyone is talking about High Tea?? What is it?? What do they serve? Sounds popular, on know on our last cruise it was sold out. :sunny:

So I guess we will be diving together Scott. We will be doing the early dive times as well. Avoid any afternoon showers that may roll in as well as have the rest of your day free. Naptime ya know. (Retirees know about nap time) :lmao:

Bringing your own gear is so worth it. Besides the safety factor you mentioned earlier, it is so nice to have the familiar stuff you've set up yourself the way you want it. You will most likely faint when you see our hodge podge of gear. Lamar still uses my old fins from the 80's! He's so proud of it too.(Talk about exceeding the weight limit). But, we have everything serviced regularly and we know our equipment. It aint pretty but it is relaible. It's pretty funny when we dive with a new boat to watch the crew size us up as we board and set up our gear. It really confuses them that we use computers and nitrox :lmao:

Let me guess, Jet Fins. They are a great fin and yes I have a pair from the 70's.

It really confuses them that we use computers and nitrox.

I think this is a smart thing to do, gotta watch that PO2, esp on deeper dives and repetitive dives. Wonder if Nitrox might be available?

If we knew who the contractor's are we could probably get it. It's available everywhere I've been this year. They'd have to know ahead of time. Maybe concierge could help with this. We have a couple of days at sea before these ports.

Who else from our group is diving?

We'll be on the train with you! I went for the early time because we would have the rest of the day open and time to get back to the ship for pirate: night.

I, too, got a brunch, dinner, and the St Kitts shore excursion.

Hi, did anyone have a hard time making Palo ressies? I can book excursions, but when I go to book Palo it wont even think. (no hourglass) :badpc: :badpc:

Thanks
Julie

And do they not let you pick 5-6 people anymore, just 3-4? We have 5 traveling and on the repo cruise I could pick 5-6. I guess I will visit them when we get there to fix the party number. I was able to get dinner and brunch for the days I *think* I want. I hate being first. :)
Our problem was that it wouldn't let us pick the 3-4!!! Oh, sure we could choose it from the drop-down and hit update, but nothing came up! :confused3 :sad2:

I guess it's a classic "High Tea" with various hot teas, scones (sp?), and a few other food items served in Palo during the afternoon on sea days. On the DCL webpage it talks about it being "served only on 7 or more day cruises". Since the 10 and 11 day cruises are the first long ones for the Wonder, my guess is that they are just not setup for it.

Maybe it will be available later? I sure don't know. :confused3

What no 1/2 DISerthon. BUMMER... Oh well I will be running every AM anyway. I gotta go to bed now so I can be up at 5:00 to run.

Awesome Scott- good for you. :cheer2: Maybe we will all be thinner sitting around in the Rainforest room??? :rotfl2: Or maybe we will all just break even. Today will be my first day back to "running" after the 1/2 marathon in SLC. I still have healing feet, but have felt much better after this one, than my untrained one at WDW last year.

Does everyone only see available excersions at St Thomas & CC? I may change some of my stuff- unless things open up for my poor sister who can only book at 75 days out and has 2 little ones under the age of 4.

Great Idea, I have in the past tried to find out from DCL who the Dive operators were but had no luck. Maybe we could get free nitrox in exchange for not using their equipment. Yeah Right!!!! Mustn’t forget the EAN cards just incase. Also I can access PADI certification info should anyone need a replacement card.

Tracy, KEWL will be on the Choo Choo with ya. I am looking forward to the train.

Celeste, actually I just started running again last week. The doc and PT said it was ok. Today there was a thunder storm and the lightning precluded this mornings run. I got Lynn an early B-Day present, the Garmin Forerunner 101. She wanted simple. I think she will like it.

Gotta run to PT, Later Kids.

She will L-O-V-E, love it! I had the 201 (Robb is going to have it now) and was really naughty and bought myself the new Forerunner 205 at Ama@@@ for a great price. I told myself if I ran for 6 months I would get it and would you look at the calendar, it's June. The price has gone down significantly in the past few months and with free shipping- gotta love it.

Did you use Internet Explorer or something else? I had problems last weekend with Palo ressies only using Firefox, but when I logged in to IE, I had no problem.

We also were able to get the train ride with the early departure. We could not get the brunch at the time we wanted but it still worked out fine. We are also doing the Antigua Island Tour.

Hi Scott: I saw one of your posts at 3am this morning and it said "there is my upgrade."
Does this mean you were given an upgrade when you were making your reservations for excursions and dining? I haven't been on the boards for very long so please excuse my ignorance about this. Thanks - we are also doing the early St. Kitts train ride.
