Hi Everyone

I mentioned last week that our son Matt was playing in the World University Games Beach Volleyball tournament on the Island of Cyprus. Well, the tournament is over and he and his partner won the bronze medal.

He's glad the tournament is over and he can't wait to get back to California.

Although Scott posted that I was ordering a grass skirt, he seems to think I need to invite the women in person to join in on the grass skirt fraternity. After all, why should they have all the fun, and we look better in grass skirts anyway. So, I am officially inviting all the women in the group who want to join the grass skirt fraternity to do so.

I hope that everyone had a great Fathers Day!! Congratulations to Ken, how exciting for you and your son. Mike, glad that your surgery went well, and that you are scheduled to come home tomorrow. Disblonde and Jimbo, congratulations on your wedding. I have been looking at the excursions, and the only ones that I know for sure are the St. Kitts railroad adventure, and the Carribean pirate excursion at St. Lucia. We did get Dan's grass skirt yesterday, and he was with me, so he is commited to doing this. He did, however, draw the line about the thong. Oh well, baby steps.
We also booked a trip to Hawaii for Feb. 2008. This has been a lifelong dram of mine, so would welcome any advice or must dos from anyone who has been there.
Hope everyone has their alarms set for tonight.

I think the grass skirts for the guys is a super idea. But, if we women did it too, I feel that it might take away the special momentum that the guys are building. I'll do whatever the majority decides to do but I really feel it maybe should stay a guy thing.

Hi Everybody,

Here it is, the big announcement! We're about to become grandparents, courtesy of our son Ben and his lovely wife, Sicily!!!! The little green shirt they are holding in this picture is their announcement to us. It has a little card in the pocket that has the due date on it, and the design on the pocket is surfboards, Ben's favorite occupation when he's here. We're thrilled, and can hardly believe it, even after planning for it for years. I can't wait to go Disney shopping with Sicili for baby stuff!!!!

Well said Elaine!! Besides, I don't have a coconut bra. However I could buy one and that along with the grass skirt could make quite a statement as a Mother of The Bridezilla outfit. I think I favor the Seashell bra though if I had a choice.

Still, I agree with the other ladies that women in grass skirts would definitely detract from the fashion statement made when the men wear them.

I don't think I'll be doing the Happiest Marathon at Sea- it seems there aren't too many people willing to run on their vacations. I just don't get it? (BTW, For those of you who don't know me- I'm teasing) Anyways, so will be training for the Chicago Marathon. I completed the Salt Lake City Half Marathon two weeks ago....all I will say is the air is really thin up there.
