So is everyone ready for the new sailing dates to be announced for 2010 tomorrow? Are we ready to pick a cruise and book it? Is everyone getting excited?

Am I the only one who is not excited? With the economy the way it is going I will be happy to be able to go on this cruise. That being said, I will probably book something in order to get the best price since I have a dummy date booked. We can always cancel later. No Baltic or Med though. Something closer. I am still holding out hope for Southern Caribbean but have not been keeping up with the rumors lately.:confused3

Hope everyone is doing well!

And welcome to all of the new cruisers!

Donna

I am in NY waiting at the Syracuse airport for my Mom and brother to pick me up--the plane was early.

From Detroit to Syracuse we flew over Ontario and Lake Erie. I bet I was near Katypop's house!

Jan ::yes::

I am super excited about tomorrow's announcement. We'll be looking possibly at the 1st Baltic cruise, hopefully. Maybe I'll see some familiar faces onboard with me.:thumbsup2

:yay: ERICA :yay:

Did you book on board!! :thumbsup2

Are you coming with us!! :woohoo:

We are collecting:

words -- post 746 on page 50

food -- post 744 and 745 on page 50

we have a phone--I think Woody said he would buy them for everyone so we could use them for walkie talkies, but don't quote me on that :rolleyes1 -- post 686 page 46

and I am collecting photos of DISers on our cruise, most recent collection will be the next one after this as I update it from page 83.

PM your into to Steve (post 1 page 1) to be added to the LIST!!

Looking forward to cruising with you again!

Jan :earsgirl:

We did book on board, kind of on a whim. Blame Lionel. I would, but I was so thrilled that HE suggested it that I whipped out the Discover card before he had decided on an itenerary. :woohoo:

I still have Sarah here, a TR to write, and an article due tomorrow......but I promise I will catch up. Sounds like a great crew so far, I can't believe how many familiar names I see here!

And Michelle.....I want details ;)

Well, I'm excited to hear all the news but those pesky air fares have me doubting that I'll book anything, though I would love to do a Baltic out of an English port. Will SERIOUSLY look at a special Christmas cruise though. I just hope they give us more than one week to decide!

Deb...I'm loving the 'candy bars' from BistroMD, every one has been A+ :thumbsup2

.

I am so right with you there Jackie.....the airfares are going to kill me too.....especially since I have to double the amount for both John and me. So I do not expect to be booking anything overseas.

I would love to do a NYE cruise......but it's very expensive for just 7 days. So I was thinking of doing a 4 night for NYE and seeing how that looks. The boat should still be decorated for Christmas I would think. I hope. And NYE would be some party onboard!

I think they call those "candy" bars.....nutrition bars or something like that. I like them all too. I also like the protein chips. I'm looking forward to getting back on BistroMD this Monday morning.....oh, that's tomorrow.....I've had a long enough break.

Just ran across this on youtube. Take a look when you have nine free minutes. I don't even know this family, but this whole thing could be a commercial for DCL. (I needed a tissue, the song for the last portion really got me)

WOW! That was really well done! Thanks for sharing the link, Jackie!

I'm excited, just because I'm curious but I can't see myself doing a Disney Cruise in Europe. I'd like to go to Europe someday, but I'd rather do a land-based trip.

Too right...planning the cruise makes me feel much warmer!:thumbsup2 It's been raining non stop for 2 days here, and is feeling very chilly indeed :(

So have you started looking at excursions yet? What do you think? I've been there and did not see anything that caught my interest. So John and I said we'll see what our friends are doing and just do whatever they do. That will be fun.

Wow they sound wonderful, what a shame Karen can't join us eh? I'm nowhere near an expert Deb, just know I love the taste!:rotfl2:

It is so sad that Karen can't join us. We already suggested it to her. She said it would not be a good time to take Alex out of school. So I understand. But she will be missed.

We also can't get the champagne from her anymore because she closed the shop and shut down the website. So we will have to rely on DCL. I'm sure they will be happy to accommodate us.

Karen did such a good job for us by also providing a video of her explaining the various champagnes and a print out sheet for us to keep. I think of her often and hope that she's doing well. Hopefully we'll see her back on the boards again and we'll get to sail with her and Ted and Alex.:goodvibes

I'm hoping it's going to be in Europe Deb, will you come on over if it is?:cool1:

At this point, I would have to say no.....because of the airfare for me and John. But one never knows and I have learned never to say never. If we did come over I would have to save some time before or after cruise to do London and surrounding areas. I would love to come and have tea with you! Naturally, there would be champagne too!  :cutie:

Horrible grey wet day today so very lazy (apart from some ironing), bacon sandwhiches & coffee, rugby on the TV and hoping to speak to Becky later this afternoon.

What are you all up to today?

John and I chatted over coffee this morning then he cleaned and wrapped my leg. Now I'm watching football and he's cooking beef stew in the crock pot. It smells yummy!

Bacon sandwiches sound wonderful.....hope your favorite team wins and that your favorite daughter calls!!!!:wizard:

I'm very excited!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: Tho' I have no idea what we'd book! :lmao: I'm at Uni until around mid-afternoon and thinking things should be kicking off at around 5.30pm (London time) so plenty of time to get home, kick back and watch the drama unfold... :surfweb:

I don't think I'm going to be able to book an overseas trip because of the airfare for me and DH.

I would LOVE to see a Southern Caribbean offered. I'd book that in a heatbeat. We did it once and would LOVE to go back. We loved every single port. Maybe it'll be on the schedule?:confused3

So, as I've spent much of the afternoon/evening reading and loving Erica's (zweihund) trip reports, it occurs to me that some of our upcoming fellow cruisers might be interested to read tales of Taylor Trips from times past. Think of it as prep and please remember the old adage of "it's better the devil you know"... ;)

Fun With Dick & Kaz...

Donna,

I'm sort of thinking along the same lines. I'm somewhat interested, but the economy does have me nervous.

I'll see what they come out with and then decide.

Though I live in fear that if I don't book the same cruise, Jackie will send her sister Dianne over to beat me up.

You know I'd have a champagne tea at Harrods sorted in an instant Deb!;) :cool1:

will have a read of these when I have some time tomorrow Karen thank you!:thumbsup2

I really enjoyed the Southern Caribbean, but I'd also like to see something different. I know airfare to Europe won't be cheap, maybe it will go down some, not much but some in the next year and a half.

Oh well, I'm still excited about tomorrow due to curiosity, and the rest we'll just have to wait until after that to find out for certain.

OK, you live in a part of the country that is sort of cute during the fall.

This cute enough???

Dirty Dancing was set in upstate NY.....but it's the same Northeastern region of the US.

You would love a ride through the mountains during the Fall, it truely is georgous.

It's based in the Catskills... south of here... Ask Ian.. He has a good description of them... I went to the "other" mountains...

I don't remember for what... but I'm glad you laughed...

Hi and welcome. I've read some of your reports - look forward to meeting you.

Quick stop by as on a strange computer!!

Hi all. Just 2 nights left and back to the freezing weather, and rain I think!:sad2:

Ohhhhhhhhhhh Marilyn... welcome home!!! (put on a sweater...and socks...)

We'll just pack you guys up and UPS you over...

Personally, it had me screaming and shaking in terror. Especially the part where the little girl bit the head off the doll.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Some people's sweet is another persons sacharin... :rotfl2:

Tell Sarah I'll bring lots of #45 SPF for her!!!

Now, that would be worth the trip......that and seeing you and Mark again!

I hope it's not too quiet at home now with Becky away. I'm glad she still keeps you up to date with what's going on in her life. Now is the time to take advantage of some alone time for you and Mark.

How is your sister that you live near now? Does she have any kids?
