Marilyn---I love that picture of you & John.

Vicki - glad you're doing better.

I forgot your name (sorry)....but the person in STL who is selling the house - first of all, good luck. Secondly - I love the monorail.

Edited to say: Oopse--I posted some you tubes of the Panama Canal on the wrong thread

Jan :earsgirl:

Marilyn, great picture of you and John.

Jan, I don't think I saw you even one time during our PC cruise. We will have to make a point of it to get together during this cruise.

Hey Everybody.......we booked the b2b this week and the next so we're doing the Eastern with Tortola and the Western after it. I don't know about anyone else here but I've already been looking at the excursions. I'm looking to do hotel resorts with pools and bars. Does anyone know of any ports of call where we will have these available? Just let me know. Thanks.

Just found out we are in 6630. I have just read through this thread and we are next to someone on here, but there is no way I can remember who.

If you read this, we are quiet, have no children with us and don't smoke.:)

Greetings, Tortolian Folk! pixiedust:

Well, that describes us, too, Marilyn (except for the kid part; no kids with us or without us)! We were wondering what to do after the Grand Family Extravaganza next January and decided that we should try a 7-nighter. Tortola sounded (and looked) great - and Disney doesn't go there often, so we signed up.

Had been debating whether we should wait until our September 1st cruise on the Magic to book, but heard that we could book now, choose our stateroom, and then rebook for the discount and OBC when we're on board in a couple of months. Called DCL to make sure this was possible and paid our deposit yesterday. We're on Deck 6, too, in a Cat 7 (a penny saved is a penny earned, right?); didn't even ask if our usual midship Cat 3 was available. We're not used to these 7-night prices, ya know? And the Club is sucking up all our loose change!

Woohoo Marc and Michael - great news. John and I look forward to seeing you both onboard. Going to be a great cruise and even better now!!

By the way, we're doing California in May/June next year too.

Deb: I think I was standing behind you for the DIS picture next to Holly and Tyler. We were talking after the picture so I did not see you leave.

Other times when I saw you there was a crowd with you and I did not want to interrupt. Same thing happened with Cheri.

But you are right, our paths did not cross often. We had early show and late dining and often were ready for bed after dinner so did not go to clubs for late shows or parties.

This cruise we will at least get a chat in!:chat:

I cannot help you with hotel-pool-bar excursions as we snorkel every chance we get.

And some of us are trying to talk them into doing the Pacific Northwest in July :rolleyes2:and the midwest in August :rolleyes:and the East Coast in September on the way to the port so they only pay airfare to the US once each way instead of twice.....:rolleyes1

I like that name TORTOLIAN FOLK !! (clever)

Vicki: What's the latest on that arm?

I think it is quite difficult to meet the ones who are on the opposite dinner seatings. Apart from the 2 Old Geezer evenings we were done in by the end of dinner and barely could manage a walk around.

Well I did put the idea of spending 4 months in the US to John..........he wasn't impressed!!!:rotfl2:

Well, we do have a few months to get information to him about what all there is to see in the US.....:moped:

By the way, we're doing California in May/June next year too.

We have a quickie cruise up the Pacific Coast booked for April or May, I think, but may cancel, so we'll probably be here from mid-January til the September cruise. Be sure to say 'hi!' - and we'll book the Club again.

Marc

Thanks Marc.:) We are hoping to have 4/5 days at DL and maybe a few others elsewhere close by. Add on SF, San Diego, Tucson/Phoenix, Grand Canyon, plus all the driving I think we are going to be there for 4 weeks. It is our 40th wedding anniversary on 4th July next year and this will be the closest we could be there for our trip.

I had wondered about that, but didn't think it would be possible! Thanks for sharing that info!

Jan :earsgirl:

I was thinking we could do a logo for our group with that name and this picture

But does anyone think it would be demeaning or insensitive to the real Tortolians? That would not be cool!

4 days at DL, 4 weeks, July 4, 40th anniversary...

I see a pattern developing!;)

I like the logo idea.:hyper: I love the name Tortolians, but yes wponder about the real Tortolians. Tortolans, how about that as a compromise? Not the same ring but...? Oops, edited to say they are also called Tortolans, just Googled. Edit again - I'm so thick. I see what you mean about the turtle and Tortolians - might not be a good idea after all, though I do so love that picture.

Perhaps we could stretch the vacation to cover the 4th July. Boy that would be a busy time at DL though. We have been in the US a couple of times in the run up to the 4th July but never there on the day.

I'll give the logo some thought--maybe it could be something like "Grab some shell, dudes, we're off to Tortola!"

I've never been to DL on July 4th but I bet it would be fun...and CROWDED! I'd like to see the fireworks THAT day! I bet they'd have some neat patriotic things going on.

Oh, Marilyn!! You are neighbors of the PHOTO GURU! He does some great things with photos and has shown some off on Photo of the Day. They are tremendous! Great choice of neighbors!

Jan :earsgirl:

AND, he shares, and lets you use his photos as screen savers! ::yes::

We'll be getting hints and tips around the veranday divide!!!:rotfl2:

I'm out of town for a few days and you're already talkin' about me :chat: behind my back! :rotfl: Shame on you. ;)

OK. I see a couple of you have posted pictures of yourselves, so here's my photo introduction to the group of the three of us. Rebecca, Zach & myself.

Hi Kevin!

What a beautiful family! I'm looking forward to meeting you and learning how to take better pictures!

Here you go.

I believe this was taken at our second Old Geezers get together where Benita provided us with hot chocolate and cookies!!!:rotfl:

Now I find out that there was a second Old Geezers get together???:confused3 Hot chocolate and cookies?:rotfl2: I though that Benita was hilarious at the first meet. She really thought that we were all insulting ourselves. Guess she must have decided to play along by the second evening.

Marilyn, I am so glad that you and John are officially joining this cruise!:woohoo:
