looks like there is still plenty of availability on our sailing...here is to getting an upgrade at port!

I agree!!!

I have never been upgraded on DCL - NCL yes (on my 1st cruise w/ them). I've now been on DCL 4x - this will be nbr 5....it'd go a long way in keeping my business w/ the new higher fares that are coming out.

Here's hoping to get a little pixie dust Monica!

I contacted my TA, and she said that normally the cruise line contacts her if they are offering upgrades. In our case I guess they aren't. Possibly because we're in a Cat 11? Not sure.

I'm not sure I would upgrade anyway, not unless it was free! We're happy with an inside cabin, and I'd rather hold the money in reserve for some other luxury.

It really is starting to feel like this trip is getting closer.

A few packages arrived yesterday, a couple with accoutrements for our ensembles for semi-formal night and for just casual cruise wear. Also my Eye-Fi card arrived for our cameras. I won't be able to play with it until this weekend, but am eager to try out it's geotagging capabilities and it's wi-fi ability and uploading photos from the camera wirelessly to my Mac iDisk some where out there in the ether.

At this point we are not planning to do the MNSSHP, we have done the christmas party many times but havn't tried the HP. I'm still in the planning stage since we booked so recent. I need to get busy!!!! There just are not enough hours in a day!!!!!

I thought the Halloween party was better than the Christmas party. I loved seeing the characters dressed as 'characters'. And the candy was pretty nice too.

Hey.....did anybody call to see if there are cat 1-3 cabins still open???? Just curious, as I don't think my siblings would like it if I said..."Bye...I'm moving upstairs!"

I definitely agree that the Halloween Party is the best. I still love the Christmas Party, but the theming of the Halloween Party can't be beat. The Headless Horseman, Hallowishes, the candy!!!!

Don't know if I want to pack extra as I tend to over pack anyway. I do hate having to pay to check bags! We usually drive to the port so it is not a big deal how much I take, but flying limits my space Guess I will have to be more thoughtful as I am packing -

We didn't dress up for MNSSHP, and you really don't have to, unless of course you want to. Something to consider is whether you're planning on dressing up for pirate night on the ship, in which case you can wear the same thing to MNSSHP.

They still have at a least one Category 3 and category 1 available. We just called to see what they would charge now for an upgrade from our Cat4 and found out we are "exempt" from upgrading because our cruise was "free" with our most recent DVC purchase. (Except for the money we paid to do the mandatory for our family size upgrade from Cat9 to Cat4!) Just for kicks, we asked how much it is to just purchase Cat1 or 3 for this cruise and they said $15K and $10K!!!

Too bad we're "exempt" from upgrading. Well, I guess now we can sleep in after our night at MNSSHP--no rush to get to the port!

Just saw a post where a 9/19 sailing verandah got a 'pixie dust' upgrade to a Cat 4. Since we had some cruisers turn down the $$ offer from DCL, wouldn't be surprised to see someone get bumped up for free.

We should all probably take a look at our reservations this time next week...just to see if we have new homes!

Well just so you know - if I get an offer I'm saying SO LONG SISAH come see me in the upgraded room!

I wouldn't pay for that even if I had it but I WOULD BE HAPPY to be upgraded for FREE and have a party for everybody!
