Morning Cruisers!

Only four weekends left to prepare for me and MY advance crew! ;)

Tomorrow is eye exam and new glasses, shopping for new undies and perhaps an outfit or two. Must finalize my FE delivery project, a visit to the craft store might be required. Car needs to go in for service, might as well get that done now so I can put that on the Visa and earn a reward dollar. This will all be much easier if it would stay under 100 degrees...but I don't think that will be happening.:sunny:

What's on your to do list?

Put a hold on the mail.
Re-check all electronic devises/batteries/chargers.
Make a BIG note to turn off the water when I leave the house.
Call the credit card company and bank and advise them of travel plans.

This weekend becomes the formalized assembly of the electronics, I have to think about 2 iPhones, 2 still cameras, 1 video camera, and a flotilla of chargers and batteries. I'm carrying for two you know.

I did have a HUGE panic this morning in the shower, when I suddenly thought about passports, and where the blazes I put them.

I had to rush and find them (I did first finish my morning ablutions). And then more panic, I couldn't find them. Not even in the place where I put them so I wouldn't forget where I put them.

Hisselfness then became enlisted in the effort, when after I told him I couldn't find the passports, he looked at me with saucer eyes.

Fortunately, we did manage to locate them. They were in the place I put them so I wouldn't forget where I put them. But they were in a plastic folder, along with all the other documentation we took with us for the marriage license and proof of our identities.

I've already taken care of the clean socks and underwear. I ordered that online last week. Amazing the bargains you can get if you are willing to wear some interesting colors.

There are some additional things I need to shop for this weekend. Some extra sunscreen, some Crystal Light Hydrate, which was heartily recommended by Cheri, and bath salts for the whirlpool at VWL.

This isn't so much a trip as a fully mobilized landing on Orlando.

The main thing I need to do, which I've sort of started, is figure out what to pack so I don't overpack.

I love, love disney music!!!!!!!!

Me too! I played for a while on youtube watching some Jungle Book and Lion King....now it's time to get in the shower!

Today I'll be singing, "I'm the king of the swingers, oh, the jungle VIP. I've reached the top and had to stop and that's what's bothering me."

Ian - I must say that you crack me up!! :lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Jackie - thanks for posting about the post office - must try to go do that now so I don't forget again.

I did the online cruise forms for Nan & I except for the payment sheet (NAN - can I charge everything on board to you???) ;)

Getting excited!!

Doing a wine run this weekend to World Market. I bought our goblets at Old Time Pottery already so we'll be ready :drinking1 :rotfl:

Apparently I can't do the hold on my mail on line yet....seems they only do it 2 weeks out. Will have to put a note on my calendar for the 28th :)

TIGGERPAL

CONGRATS on your

2000 POST

I NEVER would have caught that! Thanks so much... I guess I'll be paying attention in the next few posts! Thanks for catching that.:thumbsup2

According to my DVC desktop countdown, we have 27 days (and some hours) until I and my intrepid band of advanced scouts land in Disney World.

In honor (or honour for our friends across the Atlantic) of that and in honor (or honour for our friends across the Atlantic) of it being Friday, I bring you, Disney Magic Hallway Music to Dream By!

Got me in the mood for a good day today - thanks Ian.

I did try and hold the mail yesterday... too soon. MUST put on my dwindling list to call and get those points transfered over ...

I will have to do that too - much better way than checking every 3-5 days! LOL
I always overpack!!!:rotfl2: Not sure I will ever change now.
I packed 9 pair of shoes last time, I think I might break that record... but seriously... do flippers and water shoes "count"... :rotfl::cool1::lmao::rotfl2::thumbsup2

I know what you mean. One cruise we went on, one of our suitcases was overweight on the way down.:rotfl::scared1:

I'm definitely going to try to limit myself on shoes. I know I'll need my sneakers and a pair of flip flops, but I'm trying to decide if I can get away with just bringing my jeweled flat sandals or if I really need to bring a pair of heels. Decisions, decisions, decisions...

I'm hoping (fingers crossed) that at least on the way down we can make it on just one bag each and then pack collapsable duffles for the return to save a little money on those dumb baggage fees the airlines charge. So going down that means one very large suitcase and the rolling garment bag, I might be able to make it.

We talked a bit about packing last night. Because we have a friend coming to stay with the dogs, we're going to have to be finished with 95% of our packing on the weekend before. I am not an advanced packer. I usually pack the night before or the morning of a trip, with the exception of electronics, which readied and moved into position in their respective labeled ziplock bags.

We discussed shoes as well and how many we're going to have to pack for costume changes, at least a pair for formal and semi-formal night, then there's high tea, then walking shoes, sandals and flip flops!

It's so hard - I never was a shoe person until recently... and I bought a pair of silver stappy sandals that will HAVE to come... I also just bought a pair of "REEF" flip flops and oh my they are heaven to walk in... but then I have my "cruise" sandals (4 pair) that go with various outfits... they are so cute I always get compliments on them and they are comfy too... WHAT IS A GIRL TO DO?:confused3

WHAT ARE THE BOYS TO DO?:confused3 When you have so many special events its hard not to want to play the part huh? I am looking forward to all your theatrical changes - please over pack! Maybe I should send a cup around to raise money so you'll have over-weight baggage fee monies ready! I don't want to miss out on the outfit changes!:lovestruc

I called my brother this morning because he never called me about his gift I sent him. I was told about these pair of flip flops that have either a flask in the sole of the shoe or a bottle top opener in the base of the flip flop. WELL_ I HAD to buy them for him and my DH... so I sent them as a Circe but never heard from him if they arrived. He LOVED them... I was told by the shoe store clerk that the flask versions were being returned because of a faulty "cap" that would break leaving the flip flop useless for beverage carrying purposes... I'm so happy he loved them. He also told me that I didnt sound excited and clearly he was MORE excited than I.. (a long running joke in our family about this trip)... just glad to hear they are on board with either LYING to me - or really getting excited!:dance3::yay::woohoo::banana::rotfl2::thumbsup2

I checked on line this morning....there were at least eight Cat 4's still available.

.

:dance3:Congrats on 2,000 Peg!:dance3:

Feel free to charge it all to me and then be prepared to pay the bill

okay, I'll get online and do that part this weekeend too ;)

Don't forget you will get my luggage tags (I suspect) so will you just hold them for me to attach on Friday night. I'll have 2 bags, one suitcase and one carryon. I suspect the carry on and I will not leave each others side, so no real need for a tag on it. I'm hoping for the sneak into the room technique suggested by many cohorts here to dump it and have hands free to PARTY at all times when on the boat.

I have a RUM favor for you...should we get it together on Friday night or do you want to grab it in your travels before hand? Whatever is easier. I'll look for the name I think it's Admirals CocoNut Rum, the cheap stuff. Yes, I'm a cheap date. It comes in a plastic bottle which is good for when one falls down when carrying it around

Hey anyone see the Castaway Cay gifts lately? I wonder (magic) what we get. Monica, I've got the whole bag swim gear stuff x3 so no fighting over that but its new I suggest a heated game of rock-paper-sissors-spock  (do you watch that show? can't think of it's name right now) oh yeah, Big Bang!

Chat chat chat...must get back to the stupid online drivers ed course now...

NAN!

 Wondered when you were going to show up here!

......back to work for me....sounds more fun than an online drivers ed course....it is the exciting world of television afterall....:rolleyes1

I will be doing an alcohol run w/ Jackie/Cheri/Ian so can pick up yours at the same time. The LARGE bottle, right?? ;) Anything else?

I'm just doing it to placate the fans. Originally this was going to be a no dress up cruise, but then I had to silence the resulting whining from the throngs.

The only event I refuse to dress up for are specific costume events like pirate night. Why bother doing it if everyone is doing it?

I heard back from the main board and thought I'd share. The consensus seems to be around $300 for an upgrade, either before hand or at port, per room type. There are only 4 room types (versus 12 room categories), they are: inside (steerage), porthole, verandah, and the suites. Generally the upgrade is $50 per night each type, so it looks like $300 is good as it should cost you $350. I personally am going to hope for pixie dust. I will be spending my money on other things.
