September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

Does anyone know how the docs are sent these days? I have been making my own reservations lately and this one I have kept transfering through DU. I can't remember how I will receive them. I am concerned because we are going on a road trip for two weeks and I can just see them sitting on my front porch getting rained on or getting stolen. I will have my neighbors keep a watch out but still...........

Sorry I can't help you there. We get ours over in the UK by UPS but I guess they have a different way there.

Where are you going on your road trip? Sounds interesting.

So you don't want to have brunch with us? Snubbing us yet again, eh?

She is going on a cruise you know!!!:lmao:

Thanks anyway. We are primarily going to Yellowstone National Park and Canada. It has been pretty crazy here with just getting back from Costa Rica, then the road trip and on top of that the cruise. I will never ever do this to myself again!! :rotfl2:

Nope - but don't you remember from the PC cruise??? I practically lived in Palo (or so PJ, Cecilia & Sabucci (I think) thought) :lmao::rotfl: I want to take advantage of ALL my friends & go as much as possible :rotfl2:

When are we doing brunch again??? :lmao:

(I believe Deb has us down too :goodvibes)

Oh, I would love to visit Yellowstone, and Canada too for that matter. I believe Costa Rica is beautiful and I think I would like to at least stop off on a cruise one day.

I am looking at an Alaskan cruise with perhaps some Canadian rail trip next year. That would be one of many options though. West coast US is another, or even Montana with Yellowstone thrown in! So many options. Add to that wanting to go to France again, or Majorca, or a Mediterranean Cruise!!! Gives me a :headache: Not enough years left to do all I want so need to prioritize!!!

We have high tea on Sunday (we have outfits for tea) and Brunch on Thursday (we don't have outfits for brunch).

The nice thing is how close you are to some of those places. I was fortunate to do a fair bit of travelling when I lived in The Netherlands, though the country that I would really like to do is Italy. I would also really like to visit Prague.

I'm looking at an Alaskan cruise sometime in the future. Not quite sure who I'd be going on it with, since Sukie looked at me like I was crazy when I mentioned it.

Ian, you'll love Italy. I'd love to go back there someday, especially Rome.

I think I would. I've only been to Rome, and even then only for business trips. I never really got to see much.

I was just playing on the new DCL website. Not sure how I like it...took me a while to figure out where to go to see my reservation.

But, I did like when you researched a cruise you could easily see the cost for different catagories for your dates and # of people. :thumbsup2

And JUST NOW there were Palo brunch and dinners showing open for 1-2 people.

.

I thought that brunch and dinner were available too and then mishoe01 said they were not. I wondered there was a glitch in the system and it showed availability for the dates/times that you had booked?

To test my theory, can someone with High Tea check for availability for it? I don't have high tea booked and it shows not available for me.

I just checked - there is no tea or brunch available now at this moment, only dinner for 1-2 persons.

I have high tea booked and just tried. It's showing sold out.

We have had a few camping holidays in Italy and would love to return. (Not camping though I hasten to add!!!) Prague has become a favourite weekend destination from here, and the Christmas markets are wonderful I believe. Every time I price a weekend trip up I decide it would go a long way to a longer holiday somewhere though.

If anyone is shopping for luggage, eBags is having a sale and free shipping now.

For our last cruise I bought our packing cubes and folders for shirts through eBags and they were much cheaper. Plus cubes and folders worked great for clothing and shirts not arriving messed up.

While, all suitcases are on sale, I particularly like the eBag line of Motherlode rolling duffle bags with the rearrangeable "shelves" in the lower compartment. I liked the Motherlode bags so much that we now have a set and got rid of our other bags, with the exception of a rolling garment bag and a bag that I use for business trips.

They've added some gift items to the new DCL website.

Time to go shopping!

:upsidedow

That's so sweet, but you don't need to buy me a gift. Just being with you is present enough.

Thoughts on the New DCL Site

I've been meaning to drop my 2 cents about the new site, but I like it. I think it's more efficiently laid out. Of course it would be a bit confusing if you were used to the old site, but change is always hard.

I like how they've organized and I've liked the use of newer methods and technology approaches like AJAX to reduce the server calls and reduce the screen refreshes and so make for a smoother user experience.

Not that what I do for a living would have anything to do with my thoughts ...
