September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 3

For you DVC folks on this thread, you'll know how often discussion can turn to laundry and packable detergent. A big shame that they stopped making laundry tablets.

Well, when I was at the supermarket this weekend I saw something that was new and exciting.

Laundry sheets from Purex. Called Purex Complete, it's detergent and fabric softener in a sheet. So at last, easily packable detergent again.

I filled out a thing to get a $1 off coupon.

There's a thread on this somewhere and people are reporting 'spotting' on their clothes, especially with front load washers (which is what they have on the ships now).....Just a word of warning.....

OK, you set me on a search, and people seem to fall on both sides, though more favorable than unfavorable. I suppose there is always Dropps as an alternative, which I've seen at Loews, or having a crate in storage down there with a bottle of detergent in in like we do.

:rotfl2:Now don't laugh at me, ok? I just spent a half hour trying to find out the hours for Tortola. Can't find it. Can anyone tell me? I know it can change but I need to know for an excursion I am planning. Thanks!

Here is the site I use for all my travel size products including tide. They now have a liquid (Target) individual size as well - and I've used these and love them. Be careful though, there are several products on the minimus site that aren't allowed in certain washers... just read the fine print. Hope this helps!

I was wondering if you have been collecting the children's ages for the FE and will you have them posted? I want to make sure I have bigger non choke items for the little ones..

:dance3:
You should have gotten the childrens ages when I sent out the list. Its the last column

disneylove69 hasn't been on the boards since last Sunday, so hopefully she will be updating and giving us the lists this weekend.

.

Disneylove69

Don't know if you saw this, but it might a good idea / back up plan for changes to room assignments.

-Kay

Don't remember Marilyn, but I don't think this will be an issue for a group this small. As long as anyone who has changes lets disneylove69 know, she can post something on her door. So FE folks would just want to check her door for changes before starting their distribution.

.

I have put a wipe-off board on my packing list. Still waiting for my room assignment. You can leave your changes on the first night and the second day I will deliver my gifts with any changes.

I usually bring tablets from over here. We still have them, b ut there seem to be less of them so i expect them to go soon. I like them too.

I am going to print off the coupon, thanks Ian. I saw them when we were over in May but I could buy a big bottle of detergent for the villa so didn't try them.

It makes no sense that the Mod would leave a link to a questionable site. Do you think the Mod likes that kind of stuff?

I don't think so, I think it was a case of following the "rules".

Jackie: Did it get changed?

The OP said he'd add the link to this current thread...I haven't checked.

The toys in Happy Meals at McDonalds this cycle are Beanie Babies.

One of the Beanies available in Indianapolis today is a green bear which looks close to DIS-green to me.

Many McDonalds will sell the toy without a food purchase. Some require a food purchase. Diet coke or a sugar free iced vanilla coffee count as a food purchase.

If anyone wants a green Beanie bear decorating their stateroom door on our cruise magnet hooks (available in hardware stores) could loop under the bear's ribbon.

JACKIE -

Did you get a hold of the ABC store? Do they carry what you need?

Hi :wave2: Just checking in.

Whooo Hoooo...... Ordered our WDW 7 Day Park Hopper Passes today! We also went out over the weekend and bought 2 pieces of new luggage which I am excited about.:woohoo: Don't know how much luggage we will actually have since we'll be gone 2 weeks but I know I'll do laundry:laundy: at SSR before we leave for the cruise. I really don't want to do laundry while onboard the ship. I've already set up DME for our arrival on September 5th and DCL ground transportation for September 12 to the Port:boat: and September 19 to MCO. All my ADR's are made for WDW too! :cheer2: I really need to start making a list of what needs to be done still and definitely start a packing list. Hope I remember everything.....

wow.. how did you get to save $600 ?

When I called DCL they told me we would lose the 10% and the $200 on board credit since we booked while on board a past cruise (which we knew) but when we priced it out.. We'd only save like $300 and then lose the $200 credit so saves us $100 only..

:confused3

I didn't do it - my TA did it so I have no idea!!!

I knew they were doing the Teenie Beanie's again, but I didn't notice the green bear. Of course when there's close to 30 of them and you only have a few minutes in the drive thru to look how are you supposed to notice all of them?:lmao:

MONICA

Yes, they have three bottles right now and more in the warehouse! I told him I'd call a couple of days before we ''shop' so they can be sure to have some at that location.

:thumbsup2

That' why I did the research :thumbsup2: for you

And

Put a friend on the job.

She is at McD several times a week--it is a social outing for her since she lives alone.

She thinks she should buy ALL the Happy Meal toys for MY granddaughter.::yes:: My DIL does not want her to do that.:sad2:

SO

If I task her with finding out when something is available, she is a happy camper.

She phoned me today, as I was on my way south to Lincoln's childhood home, to report on green beanies.

:rotfl: it was the least I could do to share the info with you. :rotfl2:
