Hey Jackie. Someone has posted the new menus. They look good, particularly the desserts. Lots of creme brullee!!!!!!!!

Here they are:

I was sad to see my very favorite is gone...the Coquilles St Jacques from the Luminere's menu. :sad1: I was planning on ordering TWO! :lmao:

I'm thinking the tenderloin, smashed potatoes and bacon wrapped green beans will revive my spirits however. :thumbsup2

.

HEY....Dianne and I will be done with the dolphins about 12:15 and we'll be looking for a place for lunch. I think we need to do some research for a good DIS lunch spot in Tortola! Someplace casual. Looks like I'll be on the web and over at cruise critic this weekend to look around. Anybody done any research on that already?

OR....we can meet at the ship for FREE lunch, then go do a 'walkabout'. :thumbsup2

.

I get back at 1230p from the Discover Scuba excursion - can I join???

::yes::

Lunch in Lumineres (12-1:30P), Topsiders (Asian buffet 12-2P), Goofy/Pluto/Pinocchio (11A-6P) Based on the first Tortola Navigator.

Has anyone reserached Tortola eateries??

.
Gotta hit the shower and run by the hospital for some pre-op tests (outpatient procedure on Thursday) then Peg and I and I think some other pals are going to see "My Sisters Keeper".

.

Yay, this is going to be a fun afternoon :grouphug:

I will want to go back on the ship to change after my excursion. I may be a bit wet and sandy ;) My vote would be to eat lunch on the ship. Our excursions all get back around the same time, this way we could all meet up over lunch and set out once we're all fed. Of course, we might get thirsty while we're out and about ;)

Yeah, we didn't even make it to 12!!!! It was way too busy. I can't remember the last time I saw a line past the gates for the Haunted Mansion!!!

Regular hours are till 11 and then it was EMH until 2. Our normal is early Dec. as well so this is a bit of a shock to the system. Although Epcot wasn't that bad today.

Wow, I haven't seen lines like that at HM ever! I usually go April, May, Oct or early Dec too though. We were in fantasyland one very busy Sat night one Oct. before Spectro though and it was so packed you couldn't move. Not fun :crowded:

I myself prefer the idea of a FREE lunch and then a wander about, because FREE carries a very nice price tag. I mean after all, you can't beat FREE can you. Though you're entitled to your opinion, it's a free country after all.

I see that there are more vegetarian selections, which is interesting in light of our experience on the Panama Canal repo.

A word about the events survey

It is sort of important to fill out the part of the survey with your name, email and DIS ID.

Someone entered info into the survey today, interested in the pre-cruise meetup and the walking group, but put in no contact information.

I deleted that set of responses, because there is no way for the organizers to contact the individual, so, if you do enter your information, please make sure to not skip the contact stuff.

If anyone has a room only ressie at wdw before or after the cruise, there is a code out for the general public, also one for passholders. I was just able to apply it to my daughter's ressie :thumbsup2

They didn't say why. Oh well. I can't get that upset over something I can't control. For now I've booked the 7:45am Tour of Virgin Gorda but I have to speak to DFi to see if he wants to keep that, try the Baths on our own or do the land/sea tour.

I booked this one tonight when I got into work. Then I saw you did the same. Can you say "stalker"?? I knew you could!!:rotfl2:

Did all our first time cruisers get their stuff booked last night/this morning? How did it go?:confused3

I hope my brother got on line while vacationing in Mexico. :goodvibes

Could you please add us to the FE exchange list? Thanks so much! Ali

I have done this, but please post your interest on the EVENTS SURVEY (see link below labeled CLICK HERE) :thumbsup2

Jan

And, to recap (thanks Ian) DIS events for our Cruise are as follows and information on how to register is included herein:

I thought, for everyone's benefit I would do a recap of the events that have been planned as part of this cruise by folks on this thread.

DIS Dinner and Meet-up at Fishlips Restaurant, Sept 11, Night Before the Cruise Let the fun start early, the night before the cruise with a DIS dinner meet-up at Fishlips Restaurant. RSVP and your party will be added to the list. It will help with getting an accurate count so that a table or tables can be booked. For more information about Fishlips Restaurant click here.

Champagne Girls Tentatively scheduled for Sunday, September 13th, 2:00 p.m. at Diversions. This event is a champagne tasting.....we'll sample different champagnes ranging from dry to sweet and learn something about each of them. We would like everyone to wear PINK. Pink tiaras and boas will be provided. We will take a group picture. Our mascott is Sassy Bubbles and she will be dressed like a pink tink.....aka....Cheri. It's not necessary for everyone to drink champagne. We have tasters.....they will sample the champagnes. We have sippers....they will only have a little. We have non champagne drinkers....they can order whatever they want. There will be an additional charge to participate, but it will be minimal....usually $10 for tasters and $5 for sippers....no charge for non champagne drinkers. We'll try to keep it in this price range. Pictures will be available at Shutters for purchase separately. Deb will need to know the size of the group so that she can make appropriate plans with DCL and have sufficient champagne.

Shot's Around the Ship will take place on Sunday night, September 13th, at about 10-ish PM. You can drink whatever you want, water, soda, or rot-gut. When we're ready, as a group, we'll move on to another bar on the ship. It is meant to be just a relaxed way for folks to get together and chat. Many of my friends on this cruise, I first met at Shots Around the Ship on another cruise. The count of respondents will provide information to make sure that DCL has our first venue staffed appropriately for the size of the gathering.

Fish Extenders. This is a little gift exchange, and it can be a lot of fun and full of surprises. A count of cabins and people will be needed in advance, so that the exchange can be organized, goodies purchased, etc.

Walking on Water is meant to be a way to keep active on board ship. I am planning on going for a long walk everyday and invite others to join me. I will be asking a bit more below, so I can get a better idea of what folks are looking for. This is the first time I've planned this sort of activity.

To express an interest in participating in any of the above click here. Your interest will be shared with the appropriate organizer. This particular survey will close at midnight on July 12th.

If you are interested in Lanyards, please send a PM to Monica at mishoe01

:scratchin Ian: Can people check to see if their entry is in the survey?

 Can event organizers post a list of Cruisers interested in their event so everyone can be sure they are in the right lists?

Jan :woohoo:

We have a ressie at POFQ for the night we get off the ship - just a little down time so we don't have to drive straight home. Just called and saved $60.00.

As far as shore excursions here's what we will be doing:

St. John Island Tour 8:15AM - 2:10PM
Will anyone be joining us on these tours?

GOOD TO HAVE YOU POST!!

I have been updating post 1 page 1 of this second thread to include info about cruisers. When people were on the first thread and checked in here I put an * in front of their DISer name.

You now have an *

Check to see the other info cruisers have posted and if you want to edit your entry on page 1 post 1 or add a photo for post 2, just post it here and I will add it there or send me a PM.

Thanks for checking in!! :)

Unfortunately, no they can't. I'm using the freebie version of Survey Monkey and it's sort of limited in the free version.

Here's what will happen with the names - I have been periodically dumping the responses into a spreadsheet, and after the survey closes at midnight on July 12th, I'll be sending each organizer an email, with their participants and the other info relevant to their event.

An organizer could post a list of names if they want, which might be a good idea.
