September 12, 2009 ~ Last Call for Tortola! Thread 2

Since Marilyn asked me what I want to do on the WB PC thread for tortola I thought I answer it here to see what everyone else is talking about

I went and looked to see where I'm going...sad huh, I'll just go anywhere the ship leads me :thumbsup2

I've been to St Thomas, and we shopped, so this time just a beach and relax will be my desire.

Tortola hmmmmm, I've saved a couple of things, maybe the beach/shopping tour or the shopping/beach tour. Again, mostly wanting to go to see the island and relax, so not to worried about "doing" much of anything on them. What are your plans???

I suppose this weekend I should move my tuchis and look at the DCL cruise site and what the excursions are for this cruise. I am completely clueless other than we're booked on the ship, and we're in WDW the week before, with a couple of floozies we picked up on our last cruise.

Ohhhh you're lucky I'm not booked yet...

Calling mom a floozie... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

(I know... wrong floozies...)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ......Oh it hurts so much from laughing so hard......:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Michelle are you booked on this cruise yet??? You're going to Alaska and you're cruising in the summer but you have not mentioned that you're on here with us. You have to come with.:upsidedow :thumbsup2 :)

I'm still waiting to hear from the cousins what their plans are... I mean it IS September... Don't they plan that far out???

I'm hoping they may do it in August which will screw up my other plans because 4 of their 7 grandchildren have to go back to college... We'll see... if they plan it on the 22nd of August, we just get off the ship and fly back to Jersey and head straight to the party... (with a tan...)

Excursions-wise, we're thinking of doing this in St. Thomas and the DCL Virgin Gorda excursion in Tortola... :thumbsup2

Wow, a helicopter excursion, didn't even know that was a possibility! I'm thinking of booking the DCL Virgin Gorda excursion too. It's so hard to decide!

Kaz is it just you and Richard on this trip?

THe Helicoppter sounds fun, but scary...I'm a chicken ya know.

::yes::

I am really starting to look forward to this cruise, which is funny, because I was so ambivalent about it and was close to cancelling (until Jackie threatened me).

Although only January, I'm looking forward to the unwinding.

I'm also looking forward to meeting new friends and seeing old ones again.

I think one of the most wonderful things about the last cruise we went on (the Panama Canal crossing) aside from the experience itself, was the people we met.

There are many of them on this cruise.

To some, it might seem like we all have known each other for years, but the very odd thing is that aside from chatting on a thread, we really didn't know each other until that cruise.

I would have never thought that 1 vacation could have such an impact, or have lasted beyond the cruise itself.

There are so many exciting possibilities about THIS cruise, especially the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

Some of us have known each other for years! I still think it's amazing that we met & became friends in Dec 2006:goodvibes

Very well said :flower3:

Jan:

Take no flames from us...Ian and I both have WAY snarky personalities and we were totally kidding. You have such a kind heart and think that we are sincere and for sure Ian and I are the oposite of sincere when we are gooding on stuff like this.

No flames, only :hugs: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

And if Ian tries to come and here and say anything different I'll slap him :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Dang it Snarky IS my middle name :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

.....Jan, sweetie, Ian was joking!!! It has taken me a while and I still misunderstand him sometimes.

Jan, I really was kidding.

I am so sorry if I upset you. You are such a sweet and kind person I would never want to do that.

(Besides, living in Indianapolis, you're close enough to our house to be in striking distance.)

I actually sort of like what I copied from you and modified, except I'd replace "our wedding planning," with "Nan, our wedding planner" because you know how sensitive THAT woman can be.

:flower3: Thanks, I really needed that.

I do not take teasing well at all--never did My Dad was a big tease so if someone could learn to deal with it I should have learned, but it is not the way I am wired. He never got used to the fact that I always took his words at face value. :guilty:
.

"Make new friends
But keep the old
One is silver
And the others gold"

....I think this was the first song I learned in Girl Scouts....

....lordy, now that tune will be running through my head all day......

.

And now I have it too, in a round.... :p

Whenever you are set, let me know.

I'm a bit like that too Jan.

Just read Ian's posts as though he is joking or having fun and you will be ok!!!

I know he would never intentionally upset his friends. Non friends maybe, but us, no!!:lmao:

Yep, just me and my man! :thumbsup2 The trip is to celebrate our 27th *gulp* wedding anniversary (tho' that's actually a week later...) and you don't need kids for that... ;)

Morning Tortolians! I'm trying to get awake...had one of those awake in the middle of the night for a few hours type of sleep. I'm going to need energy for today as we are 'hitting the rails'! Some of us are riding the new light rail system into Tempe to hit an Irish Pub for lunch and celebrate Peg's birthday. We may get on and off a few times to check out other stops along the way. This could be an adventure...especially since the organizer hasn't contacted us with start time and meeting place!

Has anyone seen the latest news from DVC :badpc: Point Charts are very different for 2010 more points for Sun- Thur and less for weekends  This is going to be a BIG Mess:crazy2: Sorry to be off topic but thought u should know

Do you think there were that many folks who were staying off property on the weekends then moving over to DVC? I know a few people who have done that. Or perhaps they think they can get more 'long weekend' visitors if the daily points were more balanced? Did the overall 'total' for a week change? Hmmmmmm....may mosey over to the DVC board and read the buzz....

I received and email from DVC yesterday.

It also means that now they have FINALLY published the 2010 points I can start on the points update for Mouse Manager. That will take a few weeks.

I KNOW that there are many people who will usually pay cash at POP for Friday and Saturday nights.

I myself have not done that. Firstly because I have the points, and it can reach a point where you just become obsessive and nuts. I pay for them, so I use them. The only time I horde points is when I'm planning a get away with family or friends.

Now, I have paid cash for the POP if I am down there attending a conference and want to come in the weekend before, or stay the weekend after the conference.
