I have, however, actually witnessed this:

Riding Elegant Andalusian Steeds

Thank you sister for posting that amazing photo... I was laughing at the entire series of REAS talk - as you know one of my pet peeves since I'm not as addicted to DIS as some of you are - I too - often DO NOT know these acronyms and am constantly asking my sis - so this was funny! My personal choice would be the above, since I am a retired DRESSAGE rider! Aren't these the most amazing horses? Ok, question and not about cruising... Jackie my lovely sister, thanks for the breakfast visit - can you please help me find the Housewives of NYC thread? I did find the Jon & Kate plus 8 thread and I'm pretty sure it ate up too much of my time, but ... thanks for any help.

HI everybody!:wave2:

This isn't the place the gondolas go to (and the bushwackers or whatever it is is served). Mountain top is reached by car/taxi and is home of the first ever created banana daiquiri (so we're told).

.

OH I thought they were one and the same.

Perhaps someone in the know, (JACKIE :thumbsup2 ???) could explain the difference.

I thought there was one place and you could get there by gondola or bus. At the top was the Bushwacker's restaurant and you can see the ship in the harbor below. Am I confusing two places? :confused3

While Tom and I prefer the former, the latter is appropriate for Ian's WOW group!! Cute smilie too. Please note I will be moving it to Post 1, page 1. (I am easily amused.....)

It would also be appropriate for the FE gifts --should we use it there instead?

How about this one for FE participants? :tiptoe:

OK after the hell week that I just had....I so needed that deep belly chuckle. Ian you are a very funny man.

It stands for Romantic Escape At Sea.....dahling. Me and John get to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary with some special romantic perks and I get to book early and hopefully avoid those fishies.:rolleyes1

&&&&&& She gets to have her breakfast in bed one morning... :thumbsup2 (mimosa and all...)

LOVE the Randomly Exploding Alien Spaceships.

(Don't you just hate when that happens? Can any ever really get the stains out?)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

What? :confused3 its true!

:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I suppose I'll wait until after the 90 mark to start talking about attire.

We prematurely started talking yesterday about formal attire. Jackie may have started it, but it might have been someone wearing tails and fez to go out yesterday that triggered it, I can't remember.

I'm really torn. Not sure if we're going to be slobs or go over the top (there is no middle ground).

Depending on what we decide, the only night we consciously don't dress up for is pirate night.

But Sukie MAY bring the boots, right???

Go totally over the top. Please! That will be fantastic.

-K

Ohhh she doesn't know what she's getting herself into... :sad2:

Still very torn, especially about traveling with the hat boxes (which reminds me I'd have to get the hat boxes). The question is, can we manage the luggage and hat boxes on the "L" to Midway?

Thinking about formal night and afternoon tea.

This time I think we'll also set up special times for photos with us in the lobby, since so many people were disappointed last time.

I sometimes think we can give the Disney characters a run for their money.

Ya think the lady from Spain that kept stealing your pictures has them framed and displayed in her hacienda???

There's also a shared ride option that I need to investigate.

It means we won't have to leave the summer furs at home.

but wait...it will be AFTER labor day... so leave the Ermine home...

By the way, Sukie said this morning, that it's beginning to sound less like we're going on vacation and more like we're going on tour.

The Grand Tour... :woohoo::woohoo:

The place you describe here is Paradise Point (where the gondola's go) and has a vew of the harbor where the Magic will be docked.

YOU WILL WANT TO REMOVE THE FIRE COMMENT FROM PAGE ONE, AS IT IS ATTACHED TO THIS TOUR.
and move it down to the thrid link in that section, which is for Mt. Top

Mountain Top is a different spot on the island and has a wonderful view of a Meagans Bay.

Very good!

HI everybody!:wave2:

I like dressage, though I wasn't aware so much of it in the US. More of aware of it in the UK and local competitions, etc.

I vote for over the top WITH A FEZ included! You can never go wrong with hats.

The Grand Tour... :woohoo::woohoo:

They can just apply military/Navy uniform standards. In the subtropics you wear your Whites (white uniforms) almost all year. One of the reasons dh will not take uniforms on the cruise is because he would have to wear his dress whites for semi-formal and he hates them. He says he looks like the Good Humor man. And he'd have to shave off his beard. Like anyone would report him for wearing a uniform and having prohibited facial hair. :rolleyes:

He's wearing a suit for semi formal and tux for formal instead of his uniforms. I think the real reason is he doesn't want to have buy the little medals to go on the dress blues because he already had to pay for one set of ribbons. Each uniform needs different types of the same decorations. (Yes, you do have to buy your own medals, ribbons, etc sometimes, even the ones you earn in battle). What a racket.

Just saw this image on the magnets design thread....in case any of you door sign makers want to use it!

The Grand Tour... :woohoo::woohoo:

Actually I meant theatrical tour.

A Grand Tour was something usually done, but upper class European young men, or, in the latter part of the 19th Century by well-to-do American.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Tour

In the late 19th/early 20th century for a Grand Tour we would require at least one, if not two steamer trunks such as these. Not to mention the hand baggage (which would include our hat boxes):

We have replica medals to go on the dinner jackets (though not military, since both our fathers were in WW II and we felt strongly that they had earned their medals in battle).

As a result, I learned quite a bit about medals and the miniatures.

I also had a rather unpleasant experience with some Bulgarian medals that never arrived.

Ah, how well I recall the Bulgarian medals debacle. :sad2:

In a few minutes I have to 'go to work'. Not to the office, but here at home. There are things that need attending to and I have to FORCE myself to get off the computer, put down the book, don't even THINK about turning on the TV, and get some chores done.

First up...groceries!

The online system for ressies opens at midnight right? So that means I can start making ressies at 11 pm on Friday. Just want to make sure I have everything in order.

Yes, it opens at midnight Eastern time. So the folks in Central, Mountain and Pacific have a real bonus.

I am just learning how to do this stuff... I wanted to add my families names to the list by me. Mike is my husband. the kids are Nick (9) and Lindsay (8). We are ready to go now!! See y'all soon.
