Woo hoo. We are paid off. Can't wait to book Palo, etc.

Any suggestions on what to do with with two pre-schoolers in terms of excursions? They do like water/beaches, but oldest dd doesn't.

Congrats on the PAID IN FULL! :thumbsup2

Sorry, I'll be no help for the kids excursions.

After chatting with big sis, we may do the Dolphin Adventure booked directly with Dolphin Discovery in Tortola. The 'bellie ride' and boogie board seem a little less adventurous that the foot push and dorsal pull of the Royal Swim. I may even try to talk my brother-in-law into it (he's a non-swimmer but loves animals).

$99 per person. They also have a great discount if booked 60 days in advance.

Oh man, I am one CRANKY CRUISER right now!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

DCL has a new (about 2 weeks old) deal with Dolphin Discovery and you can NOT book directly with them and can only book through DCL!

The Swim Adventure, which is $99 on line is $160 on DCL! :scared1: PLUS, I could have used a 20% discount off the $99 for booking so far in advance.

If it weren't hurricane season I'd be tempted to book on my own and just give them a name of a hotel or tell them I'm on a private yacht. But if we don't make port I'm out that money. :sad2:

I think a 60% mark up is unconscionable.

I caught a special on the Travel Channel on Wed that was about the 'business' of cruising. And the ships do give an extra kick-back to the vendor, so Dolphin Discovery is making some extra bucks off of this too.

I did find out we are the only ship in Tortola that day. :thumbsup2

I'm thinking hiring a local cab for a tour and lunch at Seaside Grill or Pusser's might just be the ticket for the non-beach/water part of our group. A little look around RoadTown, and back to the ship for a nap! :)

There are still NO excursions that we want to go on. Nothing. Nada. Zip.

I don't even know why we're on this cruise ... Oh, yes I do ... Jackie threatened me and I'm afraid of her.

Hey....I got the name and number of a cab driver who will do custom designed tours (got a couple of recommendations for lunch) and he knows a great bar with a great view....what more could you want?

Lunch recommendations: Seaside Grill @ Village Cay Marina and Pusser's @ Soper's Hole

Marilyn, St Thomas will be lots easier....shopping!!!! and more non-beach options than Tortola. I haven't even taken a close look at the excursions there yet.

Yews, I had just come back because I realised Ian was also talking about Tortola. I had thought he was talking about the cruise excursions generally.

Marilyn, I don't think I can get Dianne OR Peg on the skyride....but a trip up to Mountain Top for a Banana Daiquiri is a DEFINATE! :thumbsup2And I know Jose will go anywhere, anytime for anything that's got anything to do with BANANAs. :drinking1

Coral World in St. Thomas is wonderful for little ones. We took our DGD's ages 3 and 5 there and they loved it. It is a small park so it is not overwhelming and you have plenty of time to spend on the adjacent beach. We all loved feeding and swimming with the fish. So much fun! I am hoping to go again this time.

Hi Jackie! Do you happen to know how many ships will be in port in St. Thomas?:goodvibes

I'd used a link someone on Cruise Critic had posted and when I looked for St Thomas....I couldn't find it. It was very strange, they had British Virgin Islands ports listed, but nothing for US Virgin Islands. :confused3 I'll do a google search, as I know there are several web-sites that list this (some more up to date than others).

Question of the day/week/however long it takes people to show up and answer:

Where will you be dining the night before the cruise?

I'm voting our group goes to: Kona Cafe in the Poly! :thumbsup2 We'll have some folks on the dining plan, and some folks without park tickets, so we need a resort restaurant. I've only been there for breakfast, and am very anxious to try it for dinner.

ok...back to another hour on the taxes before heading out to Easter lunch!

Of course not! ;)

Jackie, I've been to Kona twice for lunch, excellent both times, but never for dinner. I'll vote for dinner at Kona. My DDE card will still be good too :thumbsup2
