Nearly forgot...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN

We will all drink to your health tonight (any excuse :rotfl:)

It's also my big bro's birthday today.

Peg (TiggersPal) has been trying to find someone (DISer) to make hers too, but with no luck.

Here's a link to them on e-bay:

....funny I only just happened to be on ebay......

.

Doug and Carol from our PC cruise make and sell them. I can't remember their IDs. A PM to them might be worthwhile. Carol may take some orders from people.

I bought mine from Carol, and I think that Monica did too.

I am soooo hoping we can join in! I did RSVP yes, but as with anything, it is only by permission of our kids (i.e. will they stay in the clubs all night!)

-Kay

I hope you can too. It's very unstructured and a lot of fun.

On our last cruise, I had sort of met people while waiting to embark, but didn't really talk to anyone. I would say that it was at Shots Around the Ship we really got chatting with people, who are really dear friends now.

Funny how a little event like that could have such ripples.

Like I said, I think it really broke the ice. I'm very pleased that we're doing it on Sunday night. A full day to really settle in, and the next day is a sea day, so no pressures to get up and get out.

Just a read-out on the survey. The responses are pouring in nicely.

I'll talk about my own activities, I presume most people for Shots Around the Ship really represent 2 people.

So, right now, that means there would be about 30 people, and the survey still has 2 weeks until it closes.

I know that I'll be contacting DCL after that. Our first venue is the Promenade Lounge, which is usually, pretty quiet at 10 PM. I'll have to give DCL a heads up so it is staffed appropriately.

The last time I organized this event, the joint was jumping and it was also loads of fun. I think it acted as an ice breaker, and set up the rest of the cruise nicely.

Yup...it definately did!!! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure if this is covered or not (sorry if it has) but my Bills are playing the Monday night.

Ok lads how does this work? Where is the best place to watch the game? What kind of snacks are there? What type of beer is on tap? Will they play the game on that big outdoor screen i've seen on the boat? so many question....

thanks
Greg

They'll probably show it in Diversions which is the sports bar/pub on board. I think they normally have some sort of snack buffet set up in there. I think I saw a nacho bar one night. They might show the game on the big screen outside you never know.

Not that I know much about sports, but my experience is it all depends on the game and how big a deal it is. The bigger the deal the bigger the screen, and it being shown on deck. Otherwise, I'd go to Diversions and talk to them that Saturday afternoon, just to guarantee seeing on the big screen there.

Hello everyone - we have been kind of MIA for awhile. For some that we have cruised with in the past, you may remember that my father has Parkinson's and unfortunately his condition has declined. My parents have moved from SoCal into our home in Arizona and we have recently placed him in an assisted living home.

With that, we did cancel this cruise a few weeks ago - with a very heavy heart. We are extremely jealous of you all.

All is not lost - we moved this cruise to a dummy date next year. The girls will not be without their Disney fix as we are spending a week at WDW in July and then a week at Vero Beach in October.

Hopefully we will have an opportunity to join you on a trip in the future. We hope you all will have a wonderful time.

We went on our first cruise in May 2009 and are thinking about going again with you guys in Sept. We have a Cat. 12 right now. How many people are in Cat. 12 rooms as of now?

We were booked for a Cat. 12 in May and got bumped up to a Cat. 9 :thumbsup2

We're in a Cat 11, which is basically the same.

I hope your father gets the attention he needs. We will miss you, and hope to cruise together again one day.

Sorry you are dealing with the health issues of your dad. It's never easy to have to be in this place with those that have cared for us. He'll be in my prayers.

Hi Greg,

I don't know if they'll have the game on the outdoor screen but they'll have it on in Diversions for sure. Meet me there and I'll buy a fellow Bills fan a beer. :drinking1
