So THANK YOU ALL ...and please tell your family and friends THANK YOU from all of us here in NYC ! May God bless you all !
Please remember the next time you go by your local firehouse or police station to stop in and say thank you to the men and women who are there for you everyday .

Many people have told us that until Sept.11,2001 they never thought of NYC as actually being someone's "hometown".Well it is and y'all are a gusty group that makes me PROUD to be an American!!! :)

THANK YOU firefighters,police,military...all those who risk their lives to keep us safe!!Thank you from the bottom of my family's heart!

Thank you for your kind words . We will never be able to thank all the people who have helped us in any way , but I feel we should take any oppurtunity to thank as many people as we can .
In the days , weeks , and months after Sept. 11th I cried as much because of all the help , love , and support we recieved as I did for all those we lost that day . It was truly overwhelming . That's how much it meant to me . So thank you again and God bless !

I am proud just to respond to your post, Tom.
I am thinking and praying for you and the FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and all New Yorkers. I am so proud of all of you, your courage, your faith, and especially your strength. I pray for blessings, for each of you. Thank you.
God Bless you Tom.

I think that the firefighters, police, hospital workers, military are Heroes. They were so brave as were the people of NY. They proved to the world what a loyal, proud, wonderful place America is.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all today. God bless the families and loved ones of those left behind.

We always get such a fantastic welcome in the USA and I truly believe we will always be friends. I think the US know we were there for them ~ all of us.

God Bless everyone

God Bless America.

Wendy

Dear delswife ,
Thank you for your kind words and please tell your son that he has our FULL support and thanks as well (as do all our men and women in the armed forces ). The sacrifices they make to protect and secure our freedom have been taken for granted for too long . Is he deployed overseas or is he home ?

GOD BLESS AMERICA !

Dear Blueberry ,
You're right we do have a great city and I think we showed the world that NY is not the cold heartless place TV shows and movies too often portray it as . Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers ! It really does mean a lot to us . God bless you . What part of the city does your family live in ?

GOD BLESS AMERICA !

Dear Captain America -

In a world where children are taught that success= money and power - I think that Sept. 11th taught us that true success is so much more.

Where we live our firefighters continue to honor those lost by sellling memory bells and this evening there are several gathering places around the city where people will come together to ring the bells so that we never forget.

The money from the bells is donated to a fund (i think?) for the fireman and policeman or some other charity.

God bless these true heroes! Through all this they are still thinking about others first! What a country!

Thank you Tom! And thank you to all the firefighters, police officers and armed forces. I appreciate all that you do! God bless all of you and God bless America!

Thank YOU, Tom! I am so proud to live in a country with heroes like you and your fellow firefighters and policemen. I appreciate all you do to protect us, putting your personal safety at risk. I will never forget 9/11, and I pray for all the families and friends of the victims who must be having such a difficult time today. God Bless America!!!

Dear Captain,

What beautiful words, you truly do honor us with your presence here in this community. Please know that so many millions of people have shed tears, said prayers, and wished only the best for you, your family, and your brothers, all those with FDNY PAPD and NYPD. You all made us so proud, and there isn't a single day that goes by that I don't specifically, think of the police and firefighters and wish you all healing and peace.

Watching the coverage this morning brings it all home again and I posted poems and an essay elsewhere on this site, words are all I can offer to remind everyone how completely essential it is to us as a country, and as individuals, to never, ever forget a single person who was effected by the events that dark day.

While watching the tv this morning I grabbed a pen and wrote this down as it came to me:

"I will strive to remember the light of your life,
and not the darkness that took it."

Today I am thinking of you, your family, and all the others. We won't ever forget, and your words of thanks are moving beyond description.

Bless your heart. I wish I could give you a big hug.

Respectfully,
Ro and family

Listening to coverage of the memorials this morning I thought of how the tragedy has impacted America. There are countless examples of people that have been inspired by the heroes of 9/11 to make sacrifices for friends, neighbors and even strangers. What a legacy has been left by all those that paid the ultimate price, or were willing to do so, helping others on 9/11! THANK YOU!

No Tom, THANK YOU!!! Not just for what you and your fellow heroes did for NY and DC on 9/11, but for what you all do for us each and every day in this great country of ours.

Kudos to you all!!!

My thoughts, thanks and prayers go out to all of the men and women who serve us every day. I am married to a wonderful firefighter and have great respect for all they do. Thank you.

Thank you, Tom and all of the brave people who serve and protect our country on a daily basis. You are our true heroes! May God bless you and your families. We will never forget.

Dear Friends ,
Thank you for your kind words . I am truly touched by all you wrote but I have to correct you . We are not heroes . We are just men and women who are blessed to be able to do a job we love so much . I wish for everyone that they could feel this way about the jobs they do . We strive to help those in need whenever and wherever 24/7/365 and that just makes us human . You call and we come . Our brothers and sisters who gave their lives to save others on September 11th , 2001 were true heroes . They knew going into those buildings that they may not come out alive . And yet they still went in and did what they could to help because that's our job . We don't leave people hanging . I'm sure my brothers and sisters were operating with the mindset that we use when responding to most emergencies ADAPT AND OVERCOME . We should all remember these words when facing hardships or seemingly insurmountable odds . They are very powerful . You'd be surprised what you can accomplish when failure is not even a consideration .
So again thank you all ! God bless you all ! And please...

Dear Tom,

As a fellow New Yorker with family and friends in the FDNY, NYPD my thoughts and prayers are with you always. Even before 9/11 I had the upmost respect for what you guys did everyday. When I was in kindergarten our first class trip was to the local Fire House, and then we had a fire in our house. Ever since then i was amazed at what you did. I will never forget all that you done.

My children(DS4, DD2) now have that same respect.

May GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR BROTHERS ALWAYS.

Thank You
