Having just returned from Disney on Friday I thought I'd get started on some dining reviews. I've never done a review before, but I've read quite a few while planning this past trip. I had my ADRs planned quite a while ago and was ready and booking at the six month mark. However, I changed the plans quite a few times, even after arriving, and sometimes the day I hoped to book the reservation.

First the bad news: I only have a few food pictures, I took almost 1000 pictures on this vacation, but wasn't quite comfortable taking pictures of my meals.

About Me: I am not a picky eater as far as trying new things. I was a vegetarian for over a year, which has left me with less of an appetite for meat than I used to have. I'm not big on salt, sweets, deep fried things, or eating things like veggies or meat that are sweet flavored.

About My :groom:: He is picky, his tastes have expanded since we met, he eats his veggies now and survives on more than pizza, fast food, and cereal. He loves pizza, sweets, and steak.

My husband loves this restaurant. He is particular about his steak in that he doesn't like it to be tough or have fat. I was the one who taught him about the wonderfulness that is medium rare vs. medium well/well done. Our reservation was for 12:45 and before the trip I was concerned we'd have to rush because we were flying in that morning. However, we made it to EPCOT in plenty of time.

We were seated promptly and it was busy in the restaurant, which we expected because it was prime lunch time, and Le Cellier. Being in the cellar-like environment was very welcome after a very warm and long morning. In reading the boards, I had heard that the restaurant is sectioned based on geographic location, I thought this was interesting, but can't remember the name of the section we were in. We were right by the kitchen door in front of the fireplace. It didn't bother us. I sort of liked watching dishes we hadn't ordered go in and out.

I forget our waitresses name as well, but she was wonderful. Attentive, polite, funny, and friendly, but never hovering or getting in the way of our eating. She also had brown hair, I know, not super helpful, for now I'll call her Jane. I drank a ton of water at lunch and she was very on top of my glass.

Being the good researcher I am, in reading dining reviews I also discovered you could ask for just pretzel bread. My husband, who is not very forward, but LOVES pretzel bread, was nervous to ask about it, but was pleased as punch when Jane brought it out.

Jane was also very good about explaining what drinks we could have, as some places do offer special non-alcoholic beverages. The Red Maple and Niagara Refresher are included in the Dining Plan, (1TS, 1QS, 1S.) I do not know if you can get free refills.

The Red Maples is: Raspberry Smoothie with a Splash of Sprite
The Niagara Refresher is: Mango Smoothie with a Splash of Cranberry

We both ordered a Niagara Refresher. When they came out, I thought they were a very pretty drink. Now, I should preface that by saying I don't drink or order anything fancy on the non alcoholic side either, so I haven't seen that many drinks. It reminded me however, of a sunset, as the orange and red swirled together nicely. The drink was very good, and as titled, very refreshing, especially when we were hot, hungry, and a little tired. (We had been up since 3:30 and too excited to sleep too much.)

I ordered from the prix fixe menu, and I apologize for not having more details about what was on it.

I started with the Cheddar Cheese Soup (my first experience.) The Mixed Field Greens and Chicken and Chipotle Sausage were also options. The soup was a very large bowl, and I wasn't sure how I'd like it, as I'm not too fond of super salty or the flavor of beer. I loved this soup however, as did my husband who doesn't really like many soups. The flavors went well together and I thought the chive garnish added to the dish rather than just looking pretty, especially when stirred into the soup. I dipped my pretzel bread happily into my bowl and shared (a little) with my husband. Jane had thoughtfully brought him his own spoon when she brought out the bowl.

For our entrees: My husband ordered his favorite, the filet and I ordered the grilled sirloin salad, which is slightly different than the grilled steak salad listed on the menu on wdwinfo and allears. Jane told me that the salad was more of a salad with steak on the side, which was just the kind of thing I was looking for after my soup.

Other entrees I remember from the prix fixe menu: the gnocchi and the prime rib sandwich. There may have been one more, but I can't remember.

My husband ordered his filet medium rare, and on mashed potatoes after I reminded him he might not like risotto. Rice is something he is also particular about, and now that we have a rice cooker, he's a bit spoiled. He's also not a huge mushroom fan. When our entree's came out, his steak was on risotto, I told him he could send it back, but he didn't want to. His steak was perfect, and he ate everything on his plate faster than I ate my salad. It turns out he does like risotto.

Jane was not the one who brought our plates, but she came by and instantly noticed the risotto. She apologized and offered to bring my husband some mashed potatoes on the side, but he refused, as he had eaten some of the risotto by then. Jane insisted, but not rudely, and my husband smiled as he told me he remembered how good the mashed potatoes were. Jane and the mashed potatoes arrived quickly, and let me say that a "side" of mashed potatoes at Le Cellier is VERY big. It arrived in one of those small skillets you might receive a dessert in. Of course my husband managed to finish them and was very pleased indeed. I was shocked at what he was putting away, but to be completely fair, we hadn't eaten since 4AM.

I ordered the steak on my salad medium rare and when it arrived it was a very nice medium rare. The entire dish was served at what I felt was a perfect temperature, cool, but not so much so that it tasted like it came straight from the refrigerator, and not close enough to warm that the salad was wilting.

This is the description currently on Allears and WDWinfo:

Grilled Steak Salad - Made with watercress, onions, fennel, roasted tomatoes, and goat cheese with a white balsamic vinaigrette.

My salad was plated very nicely. In each corner was a touch of what I think was a roasted red pepper sauce, perfect for dipping the steak into. On each side of the plate, steak was fanned out nicely, it was not a huge serving,
but more than I expected. You could see that the meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare.

In the center of the dish was the salad, which was actually baby spinach served over a fennel potato tart. There was also some roasted tomato om the plate, which were tasty. I was hesitant to order this dish, as mentioned I'm not big on sweet flavored things, and I'm not too fond of licorice/anise.

Well, I LOVED this meal. The steak was perfect and if seasoned, only lightly. That might not be to everyone's taste, but when I do eat steak, I like to taste it, rather than too much sauce. I did enjoy the red sauce with the steak. The roasted tomatoes and spinach made an excellent little bite together as well.

The fennel tart was very good, and something I might try sometime. From what I can recall there was fennel, potato, and mushroom in it, and I loved it. The tart did not have a crust, which I preferred. I believe, the potato was thinly sliced and wrapped around the fennel and mushrooms. For those of you who watch Top Chef, think the Sea Bass and Potato wrapped dish in Season 3, but the potato was not as well done. Everything was cooked perfectly.

Because I was using the prix fixe menu my dessert choices were limited to sorbet, the moose, or maple creme brulee. I originally planned on sorbet, but something else caught my eye.

Le Cellier Mount Blanc Semifreddo. Now, let me say before I review this that my lack of food knowledge may have done me a disservice. I asked Jane what semifreddo was and I thought I understood her, but I was wrong. I thought the semifreddo part was just the meringue. I realize now, that inside the meringue was the semifreddo. Because I was getting full, and not as much a fan of meringue or alcohol, I did not eat the entire thing, so the center of my meringue, and by default my semifreddo was left behind, unknowingly. Or at least I think so, but maybe not, I thought I made a decent enough dent in it.

My meringue was good and had a hint of dark chocolate, the alcohol flavor was more than I expected and more than I would have liked but it was still good and I'd order it again. It was also very large. I would order this dessert again, if only to try the semifreddo part.

My husband's moose as good as ever. Of course he teased me as he ate it, I can't eat food that is cute. So, while he ate, he pretended to be the little moose, pleading for help and such. I don't have the receipt in front of me, but the bill came to just over $100 or 1TS credit. We left Jane more than 20% because she was so great.

I almost forgot: when we received our desserts "Happy Anniversary" was written in dark chocolate on our plates along with a design and some sprinkles. Not at all necessary, but a nice touch, and a great way to start our vacation.

Great start! We will also be heading to Le Cellier for lunch in December so this is all good information for us.

I also see that you visited a lot of places that we are also thinking of going to, so keep 'em coming! :)

We were really tired from our long day so we left the parks a bit early. We headed to Downtown Disney to Wolfgang Puck Express. I was excited to go here because we really loved it two years ago and skipped it last year. I'm from New Jersey so I like to think I know pizza at least a little. It was busy when we got there, but not horrible. I thought about ordering the salmon because you can't get salmon at quick service places. However, I decided on the barbecue chicken pizza, a bottle of water, and a creme brulee.

Usually I'm a big fan of any barbecue chicken pizza, but this pizza really didn't do it for me. The sauce didn't seem very rich and it was orange. I expected it to be sweeter and thicker. The pizza also didn't have much cheese, there was just a bit of pamesan sprinkled on top. The cheese wasn't melted and I could have picked each individual little strip off if I wanted. It seemed more like an afterthought, I would have preferred no cheese to that. The red onion was a nice addition.

There wasn't a ton of chicken, but the chicken that was there were large chunks. It wasn't easy to eat the pizza because the chicken kept falling off. It was good chicken however, whie meat and nicely grilled. I also disliked that the bottom of the crust was rather floury.

My creme brulee was very good and bigger than I thought it would be.

My husband ordered the pepperoni pizza. He really enjoyed his pizza. He had a brownie or a chocolate chip cookie, it was good. I will say that the pizzas were filling. I would definitely go back because there are so many things there to try and it really is such a great value as a QS. I just won't be ordering the barbecue chicken pizza.

I was a bit worried about this reservation because my husband, although less picky than when I met him, can still be picky. We arrived early for our lunch reservation, because we were hungry. It wasn't a problem and we were taken in before we could even sit down at the outdoor tables. I think the buffet area of Tusker House is designed nicely. I like the open air market feel of it. The hostess did a nice job of explaining how the buffet worked and how it was laid out.

We were seated towards the back and on the left, if you are facing away from the buffet. I (think) I'd read that this restaurant can be rather noisy, so I was glad to be seated away from the main area. Granted we were eating an early lunch, so it wasn't as crowded, but I didn't find it to be loud at all. Our waiter was Rudji (pronounced Rudy) and he was great. I believe he was from Indonesia. I ordered water again, I was very thirsty, and I didn't want to waste any calories on a drink. (I'm trying to eat healthy.)

So, off we went to the buffet. Following Julie Andrew's advice, we started at the very beginning. I glanced at the selection of breads and assorted chutneys and hummus, but did not take anything. I also did not take any of the deli meats or cheeses.

Now, let me say that I was totally excited to try just about everything they had to offer. I think I can safely say that between my husband and I we tried just about everything, including the kids buffet.

Side note: the signs above the buffet items were helpful, especially for my husband who at times would like elements of a dish after he tried it, but not know what they were because they were new to him.

I don't have perfect recall, but I know the first thing I put on my plate was the Tunisian Couscous Salad (I LOVE couscous.) I also took some Green Bean and Onion Salad and Curried Rice with Golden Raisins. Noticing the pile up of carbs on my plate, I think I took either some Seafood Stew or Tandori Tofu, or a little of both.

Tunisian Couscous Salad: I liked it a lot, I thought the flavors were very nice.
Green Bean and Onion Salad: I liked this, but there was a bit too much oil for me, still very nice flavor though.
Curried Rice with Golden Raisins: This dish was good, I did not get seconds. Not because it wasn't tasty, it just wasn't as good as some of the things I had, so I didn't want to waste more "room" on it.
Tandori Tofu: I did not like this. I had read that some did not like the texture of the tofu, but mine seemed firm and nicely cooked. I just didn't like the flavor, too sweet for me.
Seafood Stew: I really liked the first batch of this that I got, I did notice some sweetness that I would have preferred be savory or spicy.
Corn Dog Nuggets: I like corn dogs, so I got two nuggets, and wished I hadn't. They were good, very good, but I've not had a lot of deep fried food lately, and after having so many things that were flavorful, it wasn't worth it.

Second Plate:
One Slice of Pork Loin: I really liked this. I VERY rarely eat pork, and am quick to say I don't like it. I really enjoyed this however, it was very nicely cooked, juicy, and moist.
One Slice Coffee Rubbed Sirloin: Good, not as good as the pork. I didn't notice a coffee flavor at all. My slice was not fatty.
Vegetable Samaosas: I wanted to try these because I'd never had a samaosa before. I didn't really like it, I think it's similar to the corn dog nuggets, I really don't eat a lot of deep fried things, so when I do now, I can really taste the oil. I do know that prior to eating healthier however, these would have been a real favorite.
Chutney: I'm sorry, I don't know what it was called, but it was the one on the same stand as the samaosas that had corn and red and green peppers. Through some food overlap, I found I really liked this with the pork.
More Seafood Stew: This helping of seafood stew was not as good as the previous, the scallops had an almost metallic taste, so much so that I very discretely spit into my napkin. I NEVER do this, but only did so because I was actually slightly afraid of the taste.
Salmon Filet: I really enjoyed this, very nice and flaky and not at all soggy.
And now to to the two stars of this plate:
Saffron Infused Root Vegetables and Cabbage: OMG I LOVED THIS! To start this was a very pretty assortment of vegetables, I loved all the colors. Second, the flavor was absolutely wonderful. I've never had anything with saffron in it, but apparently I'm a big fan. It also had chickpeas in it, and I love those.
Marrakech Couscous: This was truly a love at first bite dish for me. I told my husband I would have been happy just eating a giant bowl of that. If anyone has a recipe I'd love to have it. I felt the couscous was cooked well and had a tomato basil flavor, and the vegetables on top just added layers of flavor. I liked this a lot more than the Tunisian Couscous Salad, which I still felt was very good.

Third Plate: The "Best of Plate"
Couscous Marrakech, Root Vegetables, Salmon, One Slice of Pork with Chutney.

Fourth Plate: The "I didn't try that yet Plate"
I like to be thorough, and at the time I didn't know we were coming back, so I wanted to try more things. I know four plates is a lot, but this plate had literally, one bit of each item.

-Jollaf Rice: I don't know why I didn't expect to like this, but I ended up really liking this.
- Pearl Couscous: I liked the texture of this, but I didn't think it was very flavorful.
- Tandori Tofu: I gave this another shot because I really wanted to like it, and eat it, as I like tofu so much, but it was no use, I just didn't like the flavor
- Basmati Rice with Almonds: I don't remember this so well, I think it was sweet, because I was ending my meal I didn't mind as much.
- Bread Pudding: I love bread pudding, but I was getting very near full, so I had just a tiny piece, it was very good.
- Dark Chocolate Cup with Strawberry Mouuse: I thought these were very cute and it tasted very good. The mouuse was just sweet enough to blend well with the dark chocolate.

I don't recall everything my husband got because he stayed with me for a bit, but inevitably moved to the children's buffet. For any adults who might be hesitant, he was not the only adult at the kid's buffet. And all of this was not all on one plate.

Cooked Green Beans: He liked these, and so did I.
Caesar Salad: He also liked this.
Cornbread: LOVED this, I know because I got more than "It's good." He said it was very moist and didn't crumble as you tried to eat it. This would be one of the most frequent recurring dishes on his plate.
Cape Malay Curry Chicken: He really liked this chicken, which I think surprised both of us. He was surprised he liked it because he had curry once and really didn't like it. He didn't realize it was curry chicken until he took his first bite, I think he either saw the word chicken and took it, or just saw chicken and took it. Either way I'm gad, he got at least two helpings of this.
Basmati Rice with Almonds (and I think Golden Raisins): I hadn't seen him pick this up, but he said: "I like the flavor and what's in it, but I don't like the rice, it's not done enough. I like the rice cooker rice better." He isn't big on nuts either, but he liked this. I had a proper "AW!" moment when he was excited about the fact that you can get golden raisins at the store.
Mac and Cheese: He liked this but didn't get seconds.
Corn Dog Nuggets: He really enjoyed these, probably even more so because we don't buy corn dogs when we're home.
Salon Filet: My husband does not like salmon, or at least he thought he didn't. I think, similar to the case of the curry chicken, he took this without realizing what it was (aside from knowing it was fish.) He liked the salmon, wasn't too fond of the veggies and tomatoes on top, but he liked it enough to have two chunks of it.
Coffee Rubbed Sirloin: He liked this, but his piece was a little fatty.
Mashed Potatoes: Very good, not as good as Le Cellier he said, but good.
Potato Wedges: Also very good and not too greasy.

Desserts: My husband has a huge sweet tooth and he had quite a few things for dessert including:

Oatmeal Cookie: Very good
Chocolate Chip Cookie: Not as good as the oatmeal
Donuts: Not at all stale.

He may have had more, I can't remember.

There were plenty of other desserts, and not that it matters so much, but I thought they were cute. I also thought it was a good idea, you might not want a whole slice of cake, but just a bite or two. I think it's also a good idea when factoring in kids much easier for them to get something themselves without making a huge mess.

We LOVED this. Both of us. It is now a must-do for us. Obviously we thought it was good enough to go back to a second time. It certainly exceeded my expectations not only as a buffet, but also for food and service. The buffet was kept very clean and there was always someone right there, in case you needed help or had a question. Everyone was very friendly, but not at all fake. Items never seemed to sit too long. The selection was great and the price was a really great deal, in our opinion. Most of the things I didn't like were simply not to my taste, not poorly done.

Rudji, as I said was great. He kept on top of our drinks and cleared our plates quickly. He also asked where I was from, and spoke a little Korean with me after I told him.

Part of our being so enthralled with Tusker House may be that I didn't have super high expectations going in, and I don't think my husband did either. I liked going for lunch as well. Animal Kingdom is never a park we spend the whole day in, and one we always go to first, before hopping elsewhere. It's also very spread out, so by late morning, you can work up a nice appetite.

Mmmmm sounds yummy. I love tusker house and am very glad to hear that it's still good. Great review!

I appreciate how detailed you are with your descriptions. I don't miss the pictures one bit :goodvibes

First, glad to see folks are enjoying the reviews. Second, slightly off topic, but on our second day, Sunday the 13th, we were so "ahead of schedule" that I said, "Why not hop over to MGM for the second Fantasmic showing and do that tonight?" That was a great idea in theory, however, the sky opened up and rained buckets on us. Everyone was soaked, so much so that I was thankful I'd worn shorts under my skirt, because I needed to ring out my skirt. They opened the Beauty and the Beast theater to give us shelter. Also, lightning struck VERY close to us (the collective group) like just over the wall at Tower of Terror, and looked really cool, but also looked REALLY close, and any kids that weren't freaked out, freaked out. The rain did begin to let up, but they said there was still lightning in the area, so in the end they cancelled. Definitely a letdown, but as I told my husband, everything had been working out so perfectly, Fantasmic that night would have just been major bonus points.

Why do you need to know this? Well, I hadn't planned on eating at Rosie's at all during our trip, but since we attempted Fantasmic, we ate there before getting in line.

I was SO full from Tusker House, I hadn't even been sure I wanted dinner that night, even a late one, but by 8:15ish when we got to Rosie's, I thought I should eat something so I wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night famished.

I ordered a Veggie Cheeseburger (I really like veggie burgers, not all kinds, but I like the one's at Disney.) I asked about substituting my fries, but the only other side I could get was coleslaw, so I just skipped the side entirely. My beverage of choice was a Dasani and my dessert the Carrot Cake.

My husband ordered the Cheeseburger with Fries and a Large Coke (32 ounces.) For dessert he chose the chocolate fudge cake.

My Vegetable Cheeseburger ended up being just Vegetable Burger, no cheese, so I was disappointed, but I didn't take it back, and I still enjoyed it. I was kind of rushing because I wanted to get in the Fantasmic line. I did try the fries, because I eat my burgers in a bit of an odd way. I put fries on them, just a single layer of about 3-5. The fries were good, but I was glad I didn't order them, it would have been too much for me. I didn't want my carrot cake at the moment, and thought I'd snack on it as we waited or eat it for breakfast the next morning.

My husband enjoyed his Cheeseburger and Fries. I give him major props because I rushed him as well. He did not eat his cake either, he probably would have if I hadn't hurried him. I can't say his burger was remarkable, as I've said previously I really know something made an impression, good or bad, if he mentions it. No words means it was a good burger, but not OMG BURGER!

I believe the buns we were given were wheat buns, which we eat at home, and they didn't bother us or seem too dry. I'm fairly picky about buns and breads. For this I blame my Dad: he always said that when you get bad bread it ruins your whole sandwich, and ever since I've paid attention to what my sandwiches are served on. I mean, the bun was not the best I'd ever had, but it's a Quick Service Burger. I didn't find myself paying it any special attention so it is deemed okay in my book.

I think Rosie's is good for what it is. I would go back. Next time though I wll check my burger for cheese.

Mini Bonus Review: Day Three: Breakfast - Rosie's Desserts and Everything Pop

My husband ate his cake the next morning for breakfast. Because we were trying to limit OOP expenses, we'd been using snack credits for breakfasts, which might not seem like enough, but it can work out well, especially with the size of Disney pastries. He liked his cake, but later in the week told me he ended up liking the carrot cake better, and he's not big on carrot cake.

I planned to eat my carrot cake, but didn't. Being up earlier than the wake up call, I went down to Everything Pop and went to get my morning banana. Well, I didn't get that, there was an everything bagel seducing me and in spite of my efforts I gave in. My bagel was good, I thought it might be a little hard, but it wasn't. I prefer a little more garlic and onion flavor on my bagel, but it wasn't at all bland. I also ate it as it was, no toasting no cream cheese.

I don't know how much I like the way Everything Pop is laid out, with so much merchandise near the Main Entrance. It wasn't a big inconvenience when walking, but when using my wheelchair alone, it was a bit harder. It's certainly not a detrimental enough for us to not want to stay there anymore.

We started the day at MGM, that wasn't the original plan, but we were very ahead of my anticipated schedule. Now, I know Pizza Planet is not the best of the best, and can be hit hard here on the Dis, but my husband loves it. For the style of pizza that it is, I like it. No, it's not as good as the pizza I can get at home in NJ, but I don't think it's as bad as some people make it out to be. I do actually like it, and compared to this year's WPE, it was better. (I've also in previous years had good pizza at WPE.)

A Little Pizza Perspective:
My husband will eat almost any form of pizza and say he likes it. Thanks to my influence he does have a higher standard than he used to. One pizza we both found really awful was the pre-new Dominos pizza circa late 2009. The new Dominos pizza is an improvement. As far as chains go, that and Pizza Hut rank closely for him, but the flavor of the Dominos new crust has edged him.

The middle of NJ is certainly not the world of pizza, but I had the benefit of growing up without chain pizza. There Big Three were nearby, but we were just outside their delivery radius. I LOVE pizza too, maybe more than my husband. I credit my refusal to accept bad pizza, once again to my Dad. His theory about breads or rolls ruining sandwiches, also applies to pizza. Bad crust will kill it, as will bad cheese, or sauce. Pizza, even cheap pizza, is too easy not to screw up. In fact some of the best pizza I've had, has been cheaper than you'd expect. I don't like when my pizza has pools of orange grease or the cheese falls off (except in certain cases when I'm just too eager and it's coming off because it's hot.) In my opinion balance and quality will = good pizza. I want to taste sauce, cheese, topping, and crust, in every bite (before edges.)

Gosh I want pizza now. Anyway...

I was looking forward to Pizza Planet. It reminds me of, well Toy Story and I've loved all three movies, I was 10 when the first one came out. I was excited when I read they offered a vegetable pizza now. I ordered this, my bottle of water, and between a chocolate chip cookie and Mickey Rice Krispie, I chose the Rice Krispie. The pizzas come with Caesar salad, but I think you can substitute apple slices.

My husband ordered his usual Pepperoni and also chose the Rice Krispie Mickey and Salad.

I wasn't expecting my pizza to come out with a ton of toppings, but I was mistaken. There was quite a lot of chopped red and green pepper, mushroom, and I think some onion. I actually really enjoyed it, in the way one enjoys splurging on a little junk food now and again. No it wan't gourmet, and while it was greasier than the pizza I usually eat, it wasn't so much so that I was turned off. I also really prefer this vegetable pizza to the cheese pizza I would have ordered. The sauce, cheese, crust, and veggies balanced nicely, my veggies weren't overdone, undercooked, or mushy. The cheese stayed with the pizza and didn't come off in globs. The sauce, while probably from a jar or can, tasted good. The crust didn't have any added flavor, like the brushed butter herb thing with new Dominos, but I didn't mind.

I think it would best be described as similar to the personal pan pizza you can get from Pizza Hut (I haven't had one in a while of course.) I preferred everything about this pizza to the one I had at Wolfgang Puck Express, but I do blame my WPE experience on my order choice not the entire place.

My husband enjoyed his Pepperoni pizza, of course. He did prefer his Wolfgang Puck Express pizza, but he had his old standby Pepperoni, which when I looked at it, looked far better than mine. Thinking about it again, it almost seems like someone started making me the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and then corrected themselves mid stride, but I can't be sure. My husband said the pizza at WPE was more filling, which it should have been because it was larger, and he preferred his brownie to the Mickey Krispie, but the Krispie was good, he just likes brownies A LOT.

I'm a very "dressing on the side person" and for whatever reason I thought at Pizza Planet they gave you the bowl of lettuce and croutons and you picked up your dressing where the knives and forks are. I was mistaken, but not disappointed. While the dressing was heavier than I like, (but I like it VERY light) it was not bad. I hate soggy salad, or salad that solely tastes like dressing, but this wasn't the case. Towards the bottom the dressing was more overpowering, but not so much that I didn't eat it, and for your average person it probably would have been perfect, I do just like just a hint of any dressing flavor.

My husband who loves Caesar Salad, ate quite happily. I think this is also part of why he loves Pizza Planet, it's as if the whole place is catered to him. I did not eat my Mickey Krispie, but I kept it in our refrigerator, its going to my Future-Brother-in-Law as a present. (Don't tell.)

Sorry for the delay we had to make a lot of trips to see family after our trip.

I was excited about this meal, not only because I think the food is really good, but also because I wanted to see Remy. Sorry Mickey. Our reservation was for 4:40. My husband was getting impatient because we were also trying to get a picture with Belle and had waited in the wrong spot. But we got our picture and made it in time for our meal. We were on the regular dining plan, he thought about ordering from the prix fixe menu, but didn't want creme brulee for dessert. So he ordered the half roasted chicken, which he really enjoyed last time, and enjoyed again this time.

I chose something that I can't find on the menu right now. It was 4 large shrimp, 4 scallops, and a bit of grouper in the center. The reason I ordered it was because the word "gnocchi" was also attached, and I love gnocchi, there were probably only four of them too. It was not a huge entree, but it looked very pretty, I liked the geometry and symmetry of it, plus it was just a bit of meat. It was all very good, the gnocchi were not too heavy and the shrimp, scallops, and grouper were all cooked and well flavored. Herbs and butter, simple, but very nice, and not so buttery that you feel sick.

For dessert my husband ordered the chocolate profiterolles, he declared that they were very good. I ordered what I thought was going to be a mango sorbet, but turned into the strawberry sorbeet dessert with the elephant ear and strawberry sauce. It wasn't on the menu so I hadn't ordered it, but there it was, and it was very pretty. Definitely something I may try to recreate on Valentine's Day. I really loved the sweetness of the white chocolate shavings, contrasting the slight tart of the strawberry sorbet, this from a person who usually can't stand white chocolate because it is indeed too sweet. It was my favorite sorbet of the trip.

There was still no sign of Remy and I was worried, so when my husband had to go to the bathroom, I made him do recon. He came back and said, "I don't see him, just this cart with a tray and a cover." I explained that Remy was under the cover. By then it was just after 5:30. I was very conflicted about doing this, but I ordered a cup of coffee with my dessert. I didn't want to because, we are taking up our waiter's table and his tips. After the coffee we finally gave in, it was 5:40, our waiter was bringing back our credit card, and Remy was not even going around the front of the restaurant. We were in the back, which was kind of neat, we could see the characters going in and out for breaks. We couldn't see them during their break, but Marie the cat waved, and we saw Belle and the Beast laughing and playing on their way in and out.

The table behind us must have been cursed for the evening however. Two women sat down, looked at the menus, and left. I think nothing really appealed to them. I felt bad for the second couple, and older couple, they had come to Chefs de France a long time ago, and had really enjoyed it. However, they had to leave when they opened the menus and saw the prices. Seriously that was :sad1:

I should also mention our server Michael C was his name I believe. I feel horrible for not being certain now. If it helps, he was very tall, with short cropped black/dark brown hair, brown eyes, clean shaven, and light brown skin, I think olive skinned is the proper term, but I'm not sure. (I don't mean to be offensive, I just didn't want to say tan, because it wasn't a tan.) and had He was not as good with keeping the water filled as I would have liked, but aside from that he was very proficient and polite. He was not as warm as many of the other servers we had during the week. I think some might take this as being rude, but he wasn't. That was just his personality.

When Michael returned our credit card he said something about Remy I could not quite understand, a mix of him being so tall and the accent, we'd mentioned to him at the beginning of our meal that we were looking forward to seeing him. We said we were sorry for taking up so much of his time, but he just asked us to follow him. And then I realized what he'd said. He was going to take us to Remy. Remy had just begun going around the front of the restaurant. Michael C. explained with a big smile to Remy's handler that we'd been waiting to see him. So she lifted the lid, and when I took out my camera, she made him say "Ta Dah," and gesture.

We thanked them both, Michael especially profusely. I was slightly embarrassed at all the extra effort, especially since we weren't kids, or with kids. It was also a nice reminder that just because someone isn't over the top friendly, doesn't mean that they won't go out of their way to make your day, and as far as that goes, Michael C. takes the cake and not just with regard to this vacation.

Originally we were supposed to have dinner at Sci Fi, but we chose to sleep in so when we woke up, got into the park, and what not we were hungry, so I told my husband if he wanted we could just have lunch here. We had never been to Sci Fi before, and my husband was very keen to go. We are both into Sci Fi/Spec Fic and he was very eager to order the Oreo Shake.

I already knew what I wanted to order, the Seared Marinated Tofu. It was delicious, and it was a nice sized portion. It is also on the "Try to make at home list," I'm not so great at cooking tofu. I really enjoyed the mango glaze, which I have read previously, is NOT vegan friendly (honey.) That may be different now, but as a heads up for vegan members. The tofu also had a nice flavor and the searing left it golden brown and warm through. It was served with rice and vegetables.

I am picky about rice, growing up I almost never ate it because my Mom made Minute Rice, which I HATE. I learned however, that all rice did not taste like that, because the Chinese take out place had "good rice" as I called it. So, fast forward to now, we own a rice cooker and a giant bag of Jasmine rice. The rice at Sci Fi was great. Warm, slightly sticky, but not a glob, not dry, or hard.

I also really enjoyed the vegetables, they were julienned and very nicely flavored nothing overpowering, just enhancing the vegetables natural flavor. If we go again I may ask for double vegetables no rice, I enjoyed them that much.

My husband ordered the Smoked Turkey Sandwich. He loves any club or turkey type sandwich. I wasn't sure if he'd like the mayo as he's not big on avocado. (I should qualify this by saying he doesn't think he is because he doesn't like guacamole.) He ate it however and enjoyed the entire sandwich. It was sizable. He also really liked the Black Bean Relish, and I didn't think he'd even eat it. I think this may have come with fries, which were also good.

Our Oreo shakes of course were great, an indulgence on my part, since I'm trying to lose some weight. But they were REALLY good and totally worth it. We both ordered water as well.

For dessert, my husband ordered the Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake which he deemed good, but he didn't rave about it. I ordered the Fruit Salad because I'd had the Shake and didn't want to overdo it. It was good and fresh, which is what I hope fruit salad will be.

I am glad that I read the menu online before going because it was very dark in there, and I knew it would be. I had also hoped we'd be seated in our own car, but we weren't, which was okay. The family in front of us left almost right after we sat down. Our waiter (Doug) I believe, was good, he was friendly and took our picture. I know people think MGM is where Disney food dies, but I think our meals were great. I would definitely go back.

I'm almost certain I did not eat here. I think I may have been full, shakes really fill me up. My husband ordered a burger, fries, and cheesecake. I think he enjoyed the burger here more than at Rosie's because it had bacon and cheese on it. I think you can also get that at Rosie's but he hadn't been aware of that. There's not much to report, since I didn't get an entree, but as a bonus, another report on Pizza Planet. (That admittedly doesn't have as much to do with food.)

We spent A LOT of time at MGM. It is our favorite, and was mine even before Toy Story Mania. Because I didn't eat dinner at Backlot Express, we squeezed in another trip to Pizza Planet at some point. Again, I wasn't hungry, so I'm inclined to think that it was on Friday, the day we went to Hollywood and Vine for breakfast. I was waiting for my husband to come out with his meal when I saw a young man, a cast member, glancing at me. Eventually he came over, and I knew why, as soon as I saw his name tag.

"Are you Korean?" he asked.

I told him I was, and he was as well, I can't remember which city he was from, but he was from Korea. His name was Sung Ho, he was on the International College Program, we chatted for a little while. I think he was hoping I could converse with him in Korean, he could speak English, but not as well as Korean. (The only Korean words I know are from my Tae Kwon do class, so not very many.) When my husband came back with his food, Sung Ho left. He came back later when my husband was throwing away his tray with two cookies for us.

"My present for you," he said, which was very sweet. I think we must have had a little extra :wizard: we were very fortunate on our trip.

My husband's pizza, salad, and other cookie were also good. I love pizza, and certainly it isn't as good as pizza from home, but for what it is, I think Pizza Planet is good.

Thanks for a wonderful update, especially Chef De France...my husband favorite place to eat in Epcot.
