September 10, 2005 - Western Cruise!

fltink, thank you for letting me know about Disney's donation, that is wonderful news. i am so happy to hear it. it makes me proud since a tiny little fraction of that money is money we all paid to them!

imnarek, your bookmark idea was so beautiful, that is a beautiful quote. i had never heard it, thank you for sharing that.

i was hoping all you guys could help...i am trying to fill out those bahamas forms that came in the cruise docs and i'm not sure what to put.
under "arriving by" should i check "discovery cruises/ferry/other ship"?
what should i put for "date of arrival" and "city where you boarded this boat"?
i assume this form relates to castaway cay, so date of arrival would be the day we go there (9/16/05)?

thanks for the help, i found this form a bit confusing!

Has anyone done an anniversary on board before? :love2:

:rolleyes2 Good evening all

Well I didn't have the day I thought I would have at all today. I didn't think I would get through everything in my closet but.... the door is still closed and hasn't even been opened LOL! Thank god for Labor Day this week LOL. I had "one of those days". Ever have a stupid fear of something and it has never been realized but you have it anyway? Well, I can no longer say mine hasn't been! I got locked in the stall of the bathroom in Bob's Stores! It wouldn't open no matter what I did! Good thing I don't panic in confined spaces. So then what do you do? You slide on your belly under the door to get out! LOL Ok ummm can you say YUCK! to sliding on the floor in a public bathroom? :scared1: <shutter> To top that off... I had beige pants and shirt on. :rolleyes2 From there I go to the supermarket where they thought it a good idea to put 6 packs of GLASS BOTTLED rootbeer on the end cap. An even better idea... to be a mom and send your kid over to get one, what was she thinking?. Ok who already has the mental picture ? LOL Yuuuuuuup you guessed it! Four 6 packs come crashing down in front of me! <note still wearing beige> So... I continue on and buy the ivy plant that was request of me to pick up. Get into the car... phewwwwwwww finally... going to get home and be safe! Of course before that can happen I have to take a left into our complex and.... of course.... the damn plant tips over and spills dirt all over the floor in the front seat! :rotfl: I wrestled with the "I want to cry.. I want to laugh" emotions, then just called upstairs for help with the bags.... so... how was YOUR day! LOL

ARE WE THERE YET!!!!!

Donnica sorry you had such an awful day. I got locked in the bathroom a long time ago on my school trip to Paris in the Hard Rock Cafe it is not fun I know! Seems like the closer the vacation gets the more we need it. The other day I was making my tye die shirts for the cruise and I thought I would be smart and die it in a bucket instead of the sink well when I got done I went to dump it out side well it was raining so I did it from my back door well when I dumped it out the rain made it splash up on the wall so in the pouring rain I had to stand out and scrub the wall with bleach to get it off. I won't be doing that again!! :rotfl: I told my husband weather the shirts come out or not he was wearing it! :rotfl2:

We're on deck 7. Have second seating for dinner and will enjoy everything without counting heads or telling anyone to sit down! :cool1:

LOL!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: I envy you about the dinner part! I'll be traveling with my 3 year old son, and the last time we cruised (in June), I was CONSTANTLY telling him to sit down! Those dinners are so long for little kids. And it didn't help that we had the late seating (past his bedtime). But we were traveling with a family group of 12, and everybody insisted that everybody be together all the time. Otherwise I would have tried to switch to early seating.

Enjoy your freedom from your kids! You both deserve it with 6 kids! :earseek:

HAHAHAHA!!! :teeth: I'm actually looking forward to this extra time alone with my little guy. I haven't seen him since Thursday afternoon before he went to his dad's and he won't be home until late Monday because it's his dad's holiday. I miss him already and can't wait to take him on this cruise! But I am hoping to leave him at the kids' club a couple times so I can have a tiny bit of freedom on the cruise. :bitelip:

That's what's nice about the cruise. Plenty of things to keep them entertained. I am glad you are looking forward to spending time together. Makes me fell guilty for wishing some time away but, afterall, there's 6 of them and only two of us! :grouphug: :jumping1:

Anyone worried about hurricanes? There's one out there now (Maria) but looks like it won't effect us. I feel like the rest of you, that I feel bad about enjoying life after Katrina and that devastation. I guess life must continue even if things are bad. My DW and I gave up our couples massage to help out. :cloud9:

No anniversary onboard yet....but we met on the ship and are getting marrie don it this trip!

Good morning, all! Six days to go! You can almost count it on one hand! Excitement is most definitly in the air!

So....question....
I've been getting private messages from DISers that will be cruising after us wanting to know if I'll be posting live updates form the ship. I do not plan on buying computer access onboard. Is anyone going to be using the wireless or the iternet cafe who would like to post live updates? If so, would you mind if I informed these people that you will be doing it????

Ok just so you know... I just can't bring myself to count the day I am in or the day we sail... as days to go! I am already living this day... it's isn't a day to GO if I'm in it. And the day we board I will be on the ship longer then off it so that doesn't count either. So there! Just a little childhood thought process there for ya! Anything to make it seem closer and get us there faster! :teleport:

I refuse to even think about weather or anything else that would hinder my boarding the ship. Positive thoughts people... positive thoughts. :goodvibes We are going to have easy flights and smooth sailing. I was once on a cruise that it rained almost the entire cruise. I never felt rain so hard as I did in Grand Cayman heading back to the ships on this little tender. The rain was coming in sideways! It was one of the most fun cruises we ever had! We met up with another hardy group up on deck and it was basically just us up there the whole day. We sat at the bar "keeping the bartender company", ya know, just to be nice, since he had to stay there anyway. He certainly showed us all his gratitude. :) So no worries about bad weather... we are going to have a blast!

All I have to day people, is, hey, it's 5 o'clock somewhere! And it's ALWAYS 5 o'clock on the ship!!!! (I also find it to go along perfectly that the ship sails away from port at 5. That means, there's ALWAYS a deck party!!!!!) Pour me something tall and strong!
