September 10, 2005 - Western Cruise!

I put those dates up there to make sure I could count. I wanted someone to check me. Hopefully by then they have all the bugs worked out of the system and the system will let us know. I always log onto DU and look at my ressies to see how many days I have left. They have a count down to your cruise when you first log on.

Hey...yea - I started a thread about a month ago....but it must have fallen off the face of the earth!

Can't wait. This will be my 6th Disney cruise...but my 1st - 7Day cruise! I love the Disney cruise ships. They are wonderful. The staff is always so helpful......You are treated like royalty!

Can't wait to see everyone on board! We are in #7622....veranah room.

See you all there! :cool1:

Just realized it's 4 months from today!!!!

:cool1:

Do yall realize we are almost in double digits?????? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
DU site tells me I have 108 days until my vacation. I can't believe it. And I paid in full this weekend. So exciting. I just now have to save for the spa and spending money.

Hi. We are all booked and ready to go :flower: It will be myself, DH, and DD/DS who will turn 4 on 9/6. This is our 1st cruise, but I am really looking forward to it. We are in 7578.

I have a couple of questions. I guess I am worried that all of the excursions are going to sell out like the CRT breakfast. Do they really go that fast? I talked a CM and she said if it has dolphins in it, it goes the 1st day. Have the castaway members have always been allowed to book excursions early or is this a new thing? I hope there is something left when the 1st timers can make there reservations. I have it all marked on the calendar. I guess I am just one of those crazy compulsive planners.

I'm so excited!!! I just booked all my spa, palo, and excursions thanks to having the REAS package. Yea!!!! I can't believe it's getting so close.

daisy112878 that is a great idea! That way I do not have to worry about getting the excursions. I hope they let me add it on. I tried to call tonight, but they were closed early. Thanks :bounce: :Pinkbounc

HLester - you can add it up until I think a week before you go. It's an additional $339 I think. It's our first dcl cruise too so the 105 days out definitly helps.

14 more days until I can book stuff!!

What all did you book, daisy?

I booked Palo dinner, brunch, and tea. I also did the stringray city snorkel on grand caymen island. Our couples massage which comes with the REAS. Also for myself I booked a cabana massage on CC and an Aroma Stone Therapy. If you can't tell I'm a huge spa fan. I'm thinking about the Ocean Wrap but I haven't fully decided on it yet.

It was so easy to use the new online ressies system. It was great. They gave you all your time options for dinner, brunch, and tea. Of course you can only sign up for one of each of these. The spa you can sign up for as many as you want too.

Wow! I've been saying that I am going to do one of the spa treatments this time around. I'm having this whole "this-may-be-the-last-time-we-get-to-do-this-so-take-advantage-of-everything-no-matter-what-the-cost" kind of attitude. I'm pretty sure we are going to go to Paradise Beach in Cozumel - I've read some good things about it. Plus, there's just not any excursion there that I'm crazy about. DISers have talked about how much they like it there and how you come out pretty cheap for the day (and since I have that aforementioned attitude, I might need a "cheap" day!) I know my brother's family will be doing the Sting Ray excursion. I'm going to book my husband for parasailing on CC. No plans, yet, for Key West (except maybe just to tour the city on our own) or Grand Cayman.

We're only doing the one snorkel excursion and that's it. We'll do Key West on our own and I've heard you can do Cozumel for cheap too on your own. We like doing our own thing and not being tied down to having to do certain excursions on the islands.

You should definitly try the spa. But one warning it's addictive. My DH two years ago for my b-day gave me a day at a local spa here in Atlanta. He now wishes he had not given me that b/c I loved it. He says at least now he knows what to give me for anniversaries and b-days.

Whoo Hoo I am so excited, I just booked everything :Pinkbounc We booked the XCaret excursion in Cozumel, I was a little worried about that since I had already arranged the dolphin experience there and did not want to try to get there on my own. Then I registered the kids, got Palo's reservations for Brunch, Tea, Dinner and then to top it off got the cabana massage at Castaway Cay. Totally worth the extra price for the REAS just to not have to worry about waking up on that day early on June 27th to try to get the reservations or stand in line on the ship. The extra's of the package are nice touch though.

I faxed over my excursion requests about a month ago and the confirmations were faxed back to me today! I can't wait!

Have we actually, finally made it to double digits?????

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

All the countdown timers are saying 98 days so does that mean I can book my stuff next Saturday? Wouldn't that be 90 days out?

ETA: Just realized since it's 98 days and 12 hours that my 90 day mark would be Sunday the 12th, right?

I think I came up with Sunday the 12th as 90 days before we cruise. This is not counting the 10th of September. I'm not sure how DCL handles it. I'm going to have to wait until June 27th so don't use up all the spots. Please!

don't worry - we're not doing too much anyway!

But this has got me thinking...
How many first time, non-DIS cruisers do you think know about this service? I ask, because the first time I cruised, I knew nothing. I mean, I thought you had to pay for Cokes at dinner! I didn't even know what Palo was let alone that you would have to make reservations for it. It was when I booked my 2nd cruise that I stumbled upon the DIS and learned all but too much of my information. I know the DCL website has come a long way in the last 5 years, but still, if it wasn't for the DIS I would probably still know nothing. So if you're not a DISer (and since there's not too many of us going on this date) how many people do you think will take advantage of this service? I don't know if my thoughts went from my head to the keyboard in the exact way I wanted them to so I hope I made sense.

I wonder if they keep any held back, so at least each group gets some chance at the reservation. I just looked at the available castaway spa massage times and there were only 4 or 5 times left. There are probably only 16 to begin with if they do them for 8 hours. That would at least be a little fair.

You would think they would want to keep 1st time cruisers happy, so they do cruise again. If all of the shore excursions, spa appts. and palo reservations are taken, I would get frustrated.

I just did the PS Calculator and it came up with 6/12 as 90 days out for the cruise. Here is the web site: http://pscalculator.net/pscalc.php
