September 10, 2005 - Western Cruise!

Yup, just get us ont he ship! After that, we'll roll with whatever happens.... Hmmm, "roll" may not be the precise term to use in this case. :D

Yeah, "roll" probably isn't the word to use. My DH has never been on a cruise so I'm hoping we don't roll to much. I would hate for him to be sick the whole time. But I'm coming prepared with all medicines just in case. :D

Hi all of you 9/10 Cruisers!!! I am so excited, please forgive my giddiness. We only started TALKING about a cruise a couple of days ago, and today we BOOKED it!!! It's our first cruise, ever, on any cruiseline. Being the Disney brats that we are, a Disney cruise is the only one we would consider for the whole family. We are husband Darrin 38, wife Lora 39, DS Nicholas 14, DD Aurora 4, Grammy and Poppy (Darrin's parents). This trip is for my 40th birthday! My Bday is September 2nd, unfortunately there wasn't a Western Caribbean cruise that would cover my actual birthday, but this is close enough. :cool1:

Our cabin numbers are 7542 and 7540, connecting rooms on the starboard side. From the webcams and pictures I've been able to check out, it looks like the starboard side will be facing port while we're docked at Port Canaveral, Key West, and Castaway Cay. We watched the webcam at Port Canaveral this afternoon and saw the Wonder as it embarked on the 4 day Bahamian Cruise, SO EXCITED!!!

Looking forward to meeting you guys! :cool1:

Welcome aboard BluOrchid2. My DH and I booked back in Aug 2004. We talked about it on a sunday and by monday morning we booked it. It didn't take much for us to book with DCL. We can't wait.

Thanks, Daisy! :D

And a suggestion for everyone - if you look at the top of the page, on the right side in a RED BAR section, there's a dropdown link called Thread Tools. Select to Subscribe to this thread, and you can get an email anytime someone posts to this thread and we can all stay on top of things!

I've got a DS who'll be 8 and a DD who'll be 5. Do any of you have kids/grandkids/etc who are around the same age and will be looking for playmates?

hello i am also thinking about the sept 10th cruise. This will be our second. last time we went was 2 years ago. I made res. right thru disney cruiselines. I remember talking to others on the cruise saying they made them online and saved money, got state room credit, free cups, does anyone know about this? Also for all you that have cruised before can you help me out with a great room and its location thanks so much you all are great.....

Tink, my hubby used cruisesonly.com to book our Sept 10th cruise last Sunday, and we got $50 onboard credit. I think that offer is available several places all over the web, though. It was a better price than what Disney offered us themselves.

I haven't cruised before, but some things we considered when picking a room were locations of the activities we thought we would most be using, nearness to elevators (or not), we wanted a room that was midship b/c we are both scared to death of being seasick the whole time, do you want a verandah or not, those types of things.

We used Dreams Unlimited. They were cheaper then Disney and we have been very pleased with them so far. My family just booked a cruise for Oct 2006 through them too. Sue Ellen is who we've been talking to. She's been great with answering our questions. We got $100 off our cruise price when we booked back in August.

Myself, DH, and DD7 are taking our second Disney Cruise! First one was 3 night Wonder, as part of a Land/Sea vacation, in June 2004. By September 2004 we had the next one booked!

Here's hoping we all have smooth seas, sunny skies, and a great CC day ::yes::

Just out of curiousity - who got insurance for their cruise? I have not but am seriously thinking about it after last Sept. I've done 2 other cruises in Sept. and Oct. and never got it.

We got the insurance. This is going to be our 4th cruise, but first with Disney. All the other times we also bought the insurance. Never had to use it though. Right now I feel that if I didn't get the insurance I would Jinx our vacation.

Bob :wave2:

We bought the insurance too, just for the peace of mind. Too many things can go wrong. :sad2:

We got insurance through Disney. Whenever I have cruised we always have gotten it. You just never know what could happen.

Definitely insurance, especially after this past September's adventures! Peace of mind is worth it.

Has anyone booked a room for the night before? I was kind of looking into Ron Jon's if they will book a one-night-only room and if it's not too expensive. I guess if that doesn't work out, we'll go with the Radisson. :confused3
