September 10, 2005 - Western Cruise!

We have Marriott Points so we booked a room at the Courtyard for that Friday night before the cruise. I'm sure it's nothing special. And we're getting into MCO at 845am so we're going to Universal for the day. We will not be at the hotel much at all so we really didn't want to spend to much.

We're not wanting to spend too much either but there's a coupon on roomsavers.com for $99 at the Radisson and $120 for Ron Jon. I figured for $20 more I'd do Ron Jon even if we are going to be there for such a short amount of time.

Staying at the Airport Hyatt. They then take your bags straight from the hotel to the ship. We get in that afternoon/evening and will Veg until we bus to the boat.

My 3 girls and I will be on this cruise, it is our first cruise, and we are so excited. Just wondering if there are any single moms going on the cruise other than me. My girls will be at cruise time 10,12 and 17. Has any one ever stayed at the Motel 6? It is talked about in the Passporter, just wonder what it is like, I won't be getting to FL until 7 or 8 pm and don't want to spend much on a room for just over night.

Daisy - We might be using our points to stay at the Marriott, too. My dh is worried that transportation will cost a bunch if we stay there as apposed to something within 5 miles. Can I ask how you are getting to port on the 10th and what it is costing you? Thanks. :flower:

We are renting a car at MCO at Budget. It's costing us $36 (mid-size car) for the 24 hour period we need it. Just an FYI the car rental companines in FL don't charge you a one way drop off fee like most do. We will get up saturday morning and drop it off at the Budget rental center near the port. Budget has a shuttle that will take you to the port from their rental center. AFter the cruise we are getting the budget shuttle to pick us up and we are renting another car to go back to Downtown Disney and to MCO. We get in at like 845am on the 9th and we don't leave the 17th until 8pm. So we definitly had to rent a car. The only thing is we only have the two of us so we could easily rent a car.

On Dave's site, (www.dcltribute.com), the little bit he has about the courtyard marriott says that they do have a shuttle for a cost. I don't know what that means but you could call them and ask. Personally we didn't want to use DCL buses b/c we like to have the flexible to get there when we want to. Plus the Courtyard at Cocaa Beach was only 15,000 points for the one night.

My wife and I (sans 6 kids) will be there. This is our first cruise ever and am looking forward to it! Everytime a Disney commercial comes on, or any cruise commercial for that matter, we get more excited. It will be our 20th anniversary and a trip without the kids! (Unheard of for us!). Looking forward to a little R & R and a chance for us to be a couple again. I hope the weather's good and that everything goes well.

Welcome Aboard, Biggs! How great you're able to join us.

Daisy, thanks. I appreciate your input. I guess we're going to save our Marriott points and just stay at the Radisson the night before. It's so close and we like sleeping in until the last minute! :cloud9:

We are going on the 7 night Magic Cruise - Me, my husband, my daughter Bridget 10 and niece Erin 11. This will be our second Disney Cruise. Our first one was 2 years ago will my teenage daughters as well. Anyone going on this cruise for the first time - it is wonderful - best family vacation ever!!!

I would love to book this cruise for my family of four. Right now I am trying to find the cheapiest rate and wondered if anybody could tell me where they found the best deal. Thanks!
P.S. If anybody has any idea of what the Florida Resident rates will be please give me some insight. Thanks!

We booked with Dreams Unlimited. When we checked into rates they were the cheapest. Also check All Seasons and if you have a costco membership I've heard they have great rates (cheaper then other TAs). Good luck and hopefully you find something.

Hello Justice&Jordan's Mom,
I booked this cruise through AAA, I booked during Disney Week last May, for booking through AAA that particular week I got an onboard credit and because I am a AAA member I received another onboard credit.
Hope to see on the cruise.

Here's another vote for AAA. I think their price was actually the same as All Seasons, but we got an additional onboard credit with AAA, so that makes it a better deal.

I priced alot of places before deciding on AAA, but with the onboard credit I figured this was the way to go.
I am not very happy with the room that I got but I first was going with a cat 12, and wanted an upgrade to have the split bath (4 girls in the same room) and a port hole, so we ended up at the back of the ship on deck 2 which I have heard is a noisy room. The cabin is 2144, if anyone has ever stayed in this room let me know what you thought, please. Some people that I talked to said it was not that bad, it is a constant humming noise and it is worse when you are pulling into port and them some have said to request another room that it is awful. I will be happy I am sure, I am just happy to be going.

Hello to everyone and thanks for the booking direction. It looks very positive that my family and my friend's family will be on this boat. I am so excited and plan to put my deposit down tomorrow. I cant wait! My children and myself did the 4 night cruise twice and my husband once so that was just a tease and we are ready for the real opportunity to relax and have fun.

That's exactly how we feel! We can't wait to finally be on the ship for 7 days.
