I had contacted my guide, Marc Turner, on Monday to see what inventory might be available with a Sep Use Year. He called and said he was not back in the office until Wednesday. I was looking for what might be availble right now that still had incentives. I am a Cast Member and get a discount and then incentives on top of that.

He called this morning to say that all September Use Year points are gone. None at Vero, BC, BWV, WLV or HH. He checked everything.

He did say I could probably get on the list for BC and have points within 24 hours (maybe contracts falling through) but there would be no incentives.

So, I guess I saved a bunch of money.

Then we talked about Saratoga. He confirmed for a second time that sales would be starting Aug 3 and that he had not even heard a rumor as to what the incentives might be.

He also commented how nice he thought that resort was going to be with the spa and golf course right there, boat service and they are building a bridge from Saratoga to DTD, don't think I had heard that before. He said he thought the incentives would have to be nice since you would not be getting any points until 2004.

Just thought I would pass along my conversation from this morning.

Yuck. I don't think I'd like this very much. I'd worry that it would increase foot traffic @ SSR from DTD. Also, I wonder how they will control people parking at DTD, and then just jumping on the SSR busses? Seems like there might be a lot of potential for off siters who used to take busses from DTD to the parks to just take them from SSR to the parks...

I can't imagine that there will not be security in place, either require a room key to get over the bridge or something similar. Not sure, but I would be surprised if there wasn't something in the works to deal with this kind of thing.

Why did you have to go and make SSR sound so nice?;)

I am pulling my hair out trying to decide between 100 pt add-on at BCV, waitlist for 50 pts each at VWL and Vero or waiting and adding on 100 pts at SSR.

It looks like it is going to be beautiful, have a great pool, spa, etc.

My guide also confirmed Aug. 3 as the date but did not say much else.

I have been less than excited about SSR for months now but the more I hear about it, the more I get excited.

Does anyone know more about the set up of SSR? Is it a lot of seperate buildings like OKW or one big building? Will you have internal corridors to walk through to restaurants, etc?

Thanks RweTHEREyet :D

A bridge, while a convenience for SSR guests, won't appear to be too enticing to others just to use the bus. (They can already take ANY bus at DD to ANY resort and then hop a bus to ANY park.)

A new bridge will likely be over the Trumbo canal - like the Treehouse bridge and golf bridge are now. It will likely be just after the boatdock at SSR and won't cross the body of the lake at all. Access to such a bridge will be from the West end parking lot behind Cirque and won't appeal to most who are at DD looking for a way to ride to a park.

SSR guests can also access DD (Marketplace) by the walkway to the sidewalk that aleady exists. A bridge will discourage guests from using the golf cart bridge yet still provide access from that area of the resort.

I'm sure it will be nice and not a nuisance.

The buidlings will be separate, but each will house more rooms than OKW- they appear to four stories high. There are four under construction in the initial phase on the lake. They will have internal corridors, but someone has reported that there will not be a restaurant- probably due to the close proximity to the DD restaurants- especially if there is a bridge and boat transportation to that area.

The (very nice) restaurant at DI (Four Seasons) didn't make it- probably for the same reason- and closed long before the resort itself closed.

Stay Tuned!

You know, with a little bridge to walk over, SSR might not be too bad... I was NOT very optimistic when I heard about SSR, but, perhaps it will be okay after all... I'm a little bit optimistic :) I might like it afterall...

Although I think with SUCH a large resort they will HAVE to have a restaurant, that's just my opinion though...

It sounds like there's a very nice restaurant in the works. They "teased" it in the last issue of the Member Clubhouse (or whatever the call the member e-mail letter).

Doc, you lost me on that one. Marc made it sound like the bridge would be closer to the Rainforest Cafe end. I do think he said it was under construction now. Wonder if anyone has pictures that would show the location.

One other comment he made was that he thought anyone that really likes staying at OKW will love Saratoga.
