Sept Rebel Alliance - Back to the Jedi Academy

Hey Team,
Today is not looking good for the workout. I have class until 5 and then I have to drive home. Maybe I'll feel motivated enough to do a late night run.

Katie - good luck preventing the muffin thievery. I need to start working towards 8 mile runs, but I guess my 2 and 3 milers will have to do for now.

Oh... this saturday I'm going to the Ohio State v. Toledo game. I'm not sure who I want to win. I go to Toledo but I'm a big OSU fan. Anyway, saturday is going to be full of tailgating and football. I cant wait.

Steve

Hello Team!

I haven't checked in for...well, probably months! I fell off the training bandwagon and hard. SIL registered us today for the Princess 1/2, so I have no choice but to jump back on now. I am just having a hard time scheduling in workouts (I mean, who doesn't, right? lol) with a 15 month old running around. I was hoping to purchase a treadmill, but no luck here. I keep telling DH we need to move to a neighborhood that I can actually run in! So, I'm pretty behind in my training and now really, reall nervous about the race in March. (gee, I'm a Debbie Downer this am, huh?)

I'm going to try and catch up on some older posts to see how the team is doing!

Hello, hello, hellooooooo Rebels! It's good to see old and new faces here with the start of training for January. :goodvibes I'm sending you a new member for the Alliance--always room for one more, right? ;)--who saw our WISH shirts and wants to join a team.

Please welcome Mandac, who just completed the DL 1/2 (1st event), and wants to find partners in crime!

Hi All! Thanks for the welcome. I am excited about this group. At the urging of my younger sister I signed up with her to do the Disneyland half on the 6th. I haven't gotten my knees in shape, so I was a walker - but I finished in 3 hours! I am hoping to lose a few pounds and gain some strength so my knees will be able to handle running. I tried to add some jogging into my walk yesterday and I paid for it big time. I think today it will just be a walk :) (cause I just don't like pain!)

Manda

Your walking pace appears to be faster than my running pace if that is any consolation. ;)

Happy to say I got out again yesterday. Took it slower - booked 3 14 minute miles. My knees were sore from my lame attempt to jog on Wednesday. I guess I will have to wait a while before I try that again. Love this group!

Hello again Rebels! I think I can't stay away from your thread. :lmao:

Naw, I'm sending you another person, Diane (french lady). She's been around for a while, but she's wanting to join a team. I know you'll welcome her with as much enthusiasm as Manda! :woohoo:

Oh, and team captain(s)...could you let me know your most current roster of active members? TIA!

Good evening team,
My name is Diane and I live in Québec, Canada. I am now training for the Disney Race for the taste and the Donald in January. I have been running for fitness for a lot of years and now that I am 50 years old I have decided to do a couple of races: I want those medals.
I am working for what would be your equivalent of Homeland security at the border of the USA-Canada which means I am working shift. I am also french-canadian so you will have to excuse my english sometimes.
How do I report my milleage and time and when?

Diane

Hi Diane, welcome to the team! Suzann should be able to hook you up with access to the spreadsheet where we record our info.

Good afternoon,
Oh boy, it looks like fall is not far away up north: it is cool, windy and the leaves are changing their colors. I just came inside to watch the beginning of the football game Florida- Tennesse. It is a day of rest in my training program and tommorrow my long run, at least long for me. :rotfl:.

I have just printed the final instructions for Disney's Race for the Taste and I am getting excited. Good luck to those of you racing tomorrow.
Diane

It was 5C (40f) at 7:15 at the beginning of my run this morning and it wasn't too smart of me to be dress in short sleeve and short. Almost 3 hours later and I am still cold. My run went pretty well, 11k, and maybe a bit on the fast side to try to warm myself :rotfl:.
I did not see another human but 4 deers: the fun part of running in the country.
Have a nice Sunday and GO PATS GO!!

Diane

Welcome Diane!!

I empathize with you about the cold-we raced a half marathon today (my first:thumbsup2) and started at 8am. It was between 35 and 40 degrees F:scared1:. Once I got a few miles in I was pretty warmed up, but boy it was a tough start!! I finished in 2:36:41, not bad for a tough course and my first time.

Checking in with a half marathon yesterday. Tested out my race day strategy for the MCM. Worked out very well. Made it 13.4 miles at a 13:21 pace and still felt like I had something left in the tank. Not too happy about the extra .3 miles there, but it was a twisty turny course, so the extra mileage was inevitable.

Great job on the halfs this weekend, Katie and Veronica!!!

I'm hoping to get back out there tonight. EEC is this weekend. Cough isn't completely gone but have a serious improvement so a little running shouldn't be any issue.

Can't wait to go to Food and Wine this weekend. I'm kind of bouncing off the walls. :maleficen :figment:

Wow.. it seemed like a lot of races out there this weekend! Way to go rebels!!

Welcome Manda and Diane!!!

PM me your email address so we can set you up on the spreadsheet to log your miles and minutes. Yay!

Good evening,
It was a day of rest today. Congrats to you, Katie and Veronica for your half-marathon this past week-end.
As for me, after my run this week-end, I would really like to do the 10k at Disney (in less than 3 weeks ) between 72:30 and 75 minutes: will see.
I thought it was a full moon tonight at work with all the problems we've got. You have to like those truck drivers.
Diane

Hey Team,

Just checking in. I played golf this weekend but thats about it. I was in cleveland all day saturday and spent most of sunday "recovering." I meant to get up this morning and go to the gym but my bed felt so comfortable at 6 am I chose to sleep in.

Welcome to the two new members. This team is pretty great.

Steve

Good morning,
I was supposed to go for a run this morning but it is raining pretty hard and I have decided to stay inside. Yesterday I did a 5k run to calm me before going to the dentist :scared1:.
I am now checking the 15 days forecast for Naples, Fl because in a week from now I will be on the road for my 2 weeks vacation down south. At this hour, in a week, I hope to be on I-91 close to I-84 in Connecticut :woohoo:. I don't have the courage yet to drive through New York city.
The next 3 evenings at work will be longggggg :upsidedow .
Diane
