Ok, I need advice from the "experts":worship: We have finally narrowed down when we want to go back to the world. We are thinking either mid to end of Sept or Oct. 16-26. What do you all think, based on your own experiences? I want to make my reservations as soon as I can. Thanks for your input.

I don't think you could go wrong with either! We were there early Oct last year and it was awesome, NO LINES. The weather was great but we were just a little early for the halloween decorations. My cousin is a CM and he says Sept is the SLOWEST month of all, at least for the resorts. But it is still pretty hot. So I would say that it is just a matter of personal opinion. Good luck, I am sure you will have fun no matter when you decide.

I enjoy October the later part of October. The Fort is decorated up for Holloween and its not that crowded. I would be a little cautions of September even though Hurricane Season gos until November once we start to get cooler weather the chances of getting a real big hurricane are slim but could happen. Sept. can be a very active month for storms so its kinda ify!

Never even considered that. We were at the Fort Oct. 6-15th this past year. The parks were more crowded then what I have seen. Except for when I went over the 4th of July. I was wondering if going the 16th-26th would be a little different. We actually would prefer to go then because we REALLY want to go to MNSSHP again. But if Sept.'s crowds were better we would go then. Keep the advice comin!:yay:

We were there the exact same time in Oct. of this past year and yes the crowds were unbelievable. I have no experience with Sept. and would agree that it might be less crowded than Columbus Day weekend was, but I would choose the last of Oct. based on cooler weather and the most fabulous MNSSHP! WE LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I really believe that fall breaks and Columbus day holiday messed that week up for us Seabee! You should not have that problem with the week you are thinking of! Go in October!:thumbsup2

That is too funny! What site were you guys? I think we are going to go with that week. I don't want to push it too late in October, because lately weather has been crazy in the north east. I don't want to hit a freak snowstorm coming home. We will see, although I need to make the decision soon. My DH has asked me 3 times in an hour and a half what we are doing. We are insane.:)

We were in loop 400, site 408 I think?!? My parents and sister and her family were in the site next to us so I can't remember who had which site #!!! Where were you? Wasn't the MNSSHP the best? We went Thursday the 11th.
Were the crowds and heat not awful?????????:scared1: BUT, we had the best vacation EVER! It was our 3rd family camping vacation at WDW and it was the best. It was everything that I dreamed it would be:love: .......except for the heat and crowds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:headache:

I don't think off season exists anymore at WDW, at least not to the extent that it used to be, with extremely low crowds and no lines. This past October we went 17-27 and the heat was pretty brutal, which was unusual for that time of year. I choose the later part of October because it is the end of hurricane season. That wasn't such an issue this year, but has been in the past.

I was there th 6th - 20th of October last year and LOVED it!! My Ft. Wilderness camping trips are usually in December, and the past few Decembers (except 2007) have been pretty cold, and I was frankly quite glad not to be COLD all the time.

Being able to not worry about how to layer for the mornings and evenings and to not have to carry a sweatshirt around my waist all day was great!!!

The F&W festival was AMAZING and I did go to one Halloween party and had a good time.

This year I'll be at the Fort the last week of October, hoping the weather will be nice then too!

We were in 512. We did the party on the 12th. We LOVED it! We have done both the halloween party and the Christmas, and we liked the halloween so much more. The kids had a blast. The heat was crazy though. That is the only thing I didn't like. And that it was more crowded than I expected. I think we will be checking in on the 18th and leaving on the 26th. Lets hope for warm, but not brutal weather. Thank you everyone for your help in my decision.

seabee-
I hope you have a fabulous time and enjoy the party! We probably won't go this year in Oct. I hope the weather is more "seasonal" whatever that is and the crowds stay at home this time!!!!!:dance3:

Have a blast!!!!!!!:cool1:

Just don't forget about our ole friend the hurricane. Sept and Oct is the middle of the heat of hurricane season. I would have pick October just for the lessen heat index.
Just remember what a hurricane and a southern divorce have in common. In both, someone is going to lose a trailer.
