Sept / Oct 2011

We are on the two week countdown!!!
Kids only have this week left at school before the holidays, dd and I are both booked in to get our hair done on Friday (she has done a brown bottle job on hers so I'm getting it fixed), then next week it's chill and relax before the fun starts!

I've decided to start a blog for the holiday, and my plan is to update it everyday from the US! Not sure how well that will turn out, but I'll add some random stuff in there at 10 o'clock each night anyway :surfweb:
I'll put the link on here before I go for anyone that wants a laugh!!!

Franrose I can't believe you have all of that reno stuff to deal with before you leave :scared1: Might be the one time you look forward to the 13 hour flight!

:rolleyes1I just thought i should mention whilst i remember that there was a huge price difference between the Nike outlet malls in Orlando there are 3 and the one at the Premium outlet mall is the most expensive the staff told us it is the highest selling store in the USA which is why it is higher prices.
Also surprisingly we found Times square was cheaper for lots of things than the rest of the USA. Our boys got themselves skullcandy headphones in Times square (Billabong shop i think)for $50 Orlando was $70.

Checking the ticker too! :goodvibes

30 degrees next Monday is crazy, I hope that everybody back here at home enjoys it. We, on the other hand will be in New York, and my DD7 and I will be at American Girl! Just as good as a 30 degree day in Sydney (maybe better)! :lovestruc

If there is one tiny thing I will miss, its being in Sydney at this time of year.! It really is perfect today!! :):)
(Why am I inside, in my chilly south facing lounge room??:surfweb:)

I just wanted to post to try to get the posts up to 1000.....944 and counting

One of our must do things is the Footlocker in Times Sqauare - ridiculous range and prices - and amazing staff too. We will also make sure to go to the Billabong shop - my mum and dad got great t-shirts there for DS and nephew for $20!

I also need to go to Sephora - as I was watching Sam Stosur in Times Square this morning on the news I was excited to see the Sephora shop off to the right of the screen - I can hear it calling me!!!

PS.....nice going Sam - nerves of steel AND such curly hair - I never realised!! :worship:

Kitchen finalised and signed off - check!
Oven has arrived at the Good Guys for delivery after trip - check!
Loos & bath spout narrowed down for final decision 1st thing when we get back - check!

Phones unlocked and SIMs work - check! (Woo hoo!! Our phone numbers are sequential too which makes them super easy to remember - so do any of you guys have the number immediately previous to ours, ending in 9046 lol?? Anyway - getting that is a load off my mind!!)

More shorts purchased - check! (Rockmans have 30% off today - I got four pairs of shorts and a nice top for just over $80!)

'Trip it' updated and printed off and the mobile app added to phone - check! Man, when I started filling out our details on trip it, it was just for the fun/novelty factor but that thing is a gem!! DH put the app on his phone too, then logged in as me and voila, he too has every little detail of our trip (confirmation numbers, phone numbers, the works) on his phone, which is a huge help!!

Getting there!!:banana: And this sunshine is such a nice boost!

I am packing for our flight to New York in the morning. It is just like packing from scratch, and I have shopping to fit into the cases. I will be over it by the end of the trip.

We are having a great time. We could have stayed at Carlsbad (near Legoland), for a week. It was lovely - nice beach, good shopping, plenty of restaurants. DH let slip that we will have to stay longer 'next time'. He is always saying no more trips, so I have caught him out, and I have witnesses! He did back track and say it would be a few years, but we can work on that.

I am looking forward to getting to WDW and doing some walking. I am really missing going to the gym, and I am eating too much. Ruby's Diner is our new favourite kid friendly restaurant. Pity they are only in California.

Safe travels for those leaving soon.

Jade, so good to hear from you! Glad to hear that you are having a great time. Looking forward to hearing about your plans for the "next time" when you return!

Glad you're heading to the Big Apple Jade, and pleased that you have been relaxing. We will be in NYC on Friday night, DoubleTree here we come! :goodvibes

Safe travels.....:cutie:

Sounds like you're having fun Jade. That's wonderful.

To everyone about to head off - have an amazing time. Think of us back here with no trip planned for the near future and give us lots of updates (and of course food porn lol)

Mine isn't here yet, but I will check if ours seems like the same sequence when it arrives. Good shopping with the shorts!
