Did you subscribe KylieH?
I did, it was about $15 I think, but truly I can't remember. I got a lot of details from it to help me plan.

Hehe, I know what you mean. I sometimes find myself telling my DH about experiences or hints I've got off the Aussie/Kiwi board and I have to start off by saying something like "this lady I know......." which is funny because I don't really know anyone on here but just feel like I do! :rotfl2:
I start with "Travel Mum said...." and "Franrose said that....." or to people that have no idea - "an online friend..." :lmao: It's my secret life. :lmao:

I told my DH that there is another Disboarder on our flight (Bondgirl) and he now truly thinks that I am a complete NERD!! :upsidedow

He's not surprised though, we run into people that I know EVERYWHERE - so on a plane heading to another hemisphere - well it's just another day with Tracey!! princess:

hey,

I'm quite disapointed that I seem to be flying out before everyone else on V Aust & have no one to double check plans with..the DH just smiles, nods and hands over the credit card...he's passive passive:thumbsup2

my youngest son was like that, knew everyone, quite unsettling & made for a few awkward moments before realising they weren't "bad men" just soccer friends/ coaches.....:confused3.

WAMOMOF4 I hope you have a wonderful time, and I hope that you didn't get caught in the maddness at Sydney airport today  it is my worst nightmare for something to go wrong with the flights.

Let us know how you are going  and have fun:thumbsup2

So is anyone concerned about the weather?

I was reading a thread on trip advisor /or maybe the main forums asking how hot will it be in September - basically every answer was "as hot as the sun", "africa", "hades"- you get the general idea.

Will we, as Australians, (western Sydney) find it as unbearable as they suggest or are they just "soft"

I am prepared for it to be hot, when I read average temps its 80-90 which is low 30s in C - which I think will be perfect -

So who has been before in September, and will we survive?

I wondered this as well. To me low 30's sound absolutely perfect. I don't even care if it rains if it's that warm.

I guess a lot of people in the US come from much cooler (and less humid) climates than Florida.

I did a WDW trip in mid-late June 2004, I remember it being hot but I was coming from a NZ winter at the time! And I don't remember it being so terrible I couldn't enjoy the holiday or anything. I believe it will be humid in Sept, so I'm guessing it will be a bit like a Brisbane summer. There are lots of places you can go to cool down, and I don't remember it being hot when we were on rides etc. I remember buying an umbrella lol for the afternoon showers!

ETA, I had an email from my mum on July 20 (she was in FL), she said it was 100F that day but that it was the humidity that made it uncomfortable.

It can be very hot and humid in September and you will sweat but you will survive.

It is the humidity that gets you and it can be really bad from early in the morning til late at night but you will have a great time regardless of the weather. Make sure you drink plenty of water and take breaks in air-conditioned shops and attractions. The buses are extremely well air-conditioned and can be very cold. We sometimes liked the back seat because it seemed more comfortable than the freezer like conditions up the front.

The weather is perfect for the water parks and the resort pool when you need a break. You may however get an occasional afternoon thunderstorm which scares everyone out of the water but these soon pass.

Don't stress about the weather, relax, take your time and you'll be fine!
Disney has really good airconditioning:goodvibes

I think it's the humidity that's the issue. We were on the Gold Coast in January for a week in 30-35 with 90%+ humidity most days. We survived and it wasnt Too worse than home on a hot humid day. I'm in SW Sydney and I think that to some ppl the answer is like comparing going from say Hobart to Brisbane and being really shocked whereas I would find it a normal really hot summer day. IYKWIM.

You will be just fine. There seem to be vast numbers of Americans on the disboards complaining about the heat and the walking. Our summers are hotter and I would walk more on a shopping weekend in Melbourne. I think they are a little soft and possibly not as active as the average Aussie.

hi there

We were there last sept/oct ...the heat is just bearable, but it is the humidity that gets you. As long as you stay out of the midday sun [unless around the pool], drink lots of water- not coke and just walk at a gentle pace you will be fine. Limit big meals to breakfast and tea at night...salads and stuff for lunch, you may even find you dont want to eat at lunchtime.....which was great, I lost a few KG's:banana:

my DH this year is going to the gym 5 times a week to get in condition for disney:rotfl: last year the chaffing was not too comfortable, and he's not used to walking all day every day.So preparation is the key.

if you do suffer with heat rashes, make sure to pack cream in your day bags, plus blister packs and fresh socks. If in doubt, every park as a first aid station, they can give you creams etc.

we found because we were walking at a slower pace we go to see more, the things you'd miss when racing from one ride to the next.:rolleyes1

hope this helps
