Hey

counting down.....

Thank God my parents live close and can drive us to/from the airport...it only costs us the 3hr parking [he likes to stay and watch us take off] and breakfast for the 3 of us....

otherwise it would be around $150 rtn by shuttle bus.

Do you have friends/family who live close to the airport that you could park and then just get cab to/from airport?????

there's more than on way to skin a cat.......

Unfortunately, no.
Do you think we could leave our car at your parents place? :rolleyes1

if they had a bigger car:thumbsup2

i dont see how we are going to even fit our 3 big bags in their Toyota corolla :rotfl2: think Mr bean.....

Do any of you have an ex-husband...? Sometimes they come in very handy - like for us at 6.15am on the morning of September 16th when mine will appear at our front door and drive us to the airport!! He will then drop us off, say goodbye...especially to DS13 (he is his dad) and then miraculously disappear!! :wizard::rotfl::wizard:

Honestly, the best thing since free dining!! ;)

Dang, sounds fabulous Busy Busy!! I don't have one right now, and the big downside is if I was to aquire one I'd have to forfeit a husband who helps pay for the trip in the first place :rotfl:

You are blessed Busy Busy! Not all ex husbands are like yours :rotfl2:
Can't even get mine to come and see his daughters more then 3 times a year...:headache: oh did I mention he doesn't think he should have to pay maintenance either.....:sad1:

Oh boy, I didn't mean to open the "ex files".......all that I can say is that I do have a good ex, he is great with DS (I hate that he goes every 2nd weekend though), and the ex's wife is LOVELY! New wife has a son who was born on the same day, same year as ours - twin step-brothers - it's insane!!

We even all watched the boys play in their soccer semi-finals together on the weekend (they play in different teams) - but we were all there together. I had a teacher once tell me that I needed to write a book about it all...that was the day that I went to parent/teacher with the ex and the current DH!!

He is a nice guy - not such a nice husband - but he's not my husband anymore so I don't care!! I found myself a much better one whose parents live in London - so I get to travel to see them.....not this time though - they are coming here for Christmas, so the money saved for London became money for DISNEYWORLD....hooray!! :cool1::cool1:

Busy Busy, thats great you have a good relationship with your ex, do you think after he drops you guys at the airport he will drive out to Penrith and pick us up? Does he have a seven seater?

We dont need to be at the airport till about 10:30!

:thumbsup2

:dance3:With 29 days to go .....:cheer2::cheer2:
Just checked out what movies were on V Aust flight - I have a lot of catching up to do... all that time saying " no " to the pictures will pay off - We can sit back and relax and watch the films we have missed out on....

OMG:rotfl2: I do this as well, and I thought I was the only freak to do this. I have gone without movies saying"I'll watch it on the plane"........

Started my "tub of stuff" last weekend..getting things ready....making lists, updating my day by day itin..........

ESTA today........and then I'm fully paid up re EVERYTHING and ready to go:cloud9:

I did my ESTA yesterday.
And I'm doin all that stuff too.
I make a pile in my room of all the things I intend to pack and not use prior to leaving...togs, thongs etc. Rewrote my itinerary as it had so many alterations that I couldn't understand it....etc...etc... so much fun:yay:

Trying to do ESTA today, but keep getting interupted and it times out..so will have to wait till we get quiet.

I have planed, schemed and plotted, but have a sinking feeling I have forgotten something......:confused3

my tub of stuff is starting to overflow with "essentials"......

tad sad re dollar drop, but hey the dollar has already saved me $100's.......maybe more...

only 37 sleeps:yay:

Just come back from the bank - let them know where we are so should have no probs with the credit card! (I hope not to use it, but may need it as a backup)

Have to organise for our mail to be held at post office. Oh and arrange transport to the airport!!

And, yes I did it, I got the suitcase out - as we are not wearing our summer gear at the moment, I got it out and took stock of what I may need to get. As we are also doing a cruise, we have to take some "dressy clothes" which is fine for me, ladies dresses dont take much room, but I am really torn about whether to take DH's suit, its a lot of lugging around for 3 nights he may wear it, but he does look handsome in it and we dont get the opportunity to dress up much. :confused3

It really is getting close - I havent looked at exchange rate today - too scared - what can you do - the trip is paid for its only spending money and I already have a bit stashed away - a couple less margaritas -

Thanks for everyone's opinion on Car Hire..... Booked with Travel jigsaw - 14 Days SUV full insurance included A$463

27 days to go..... getting DD J & L to put aside summer clothes and bathers/Goggles for packing. Fished out Travel TSA Locks and still trying to find power adapters.

Spoke to Bill of "Bill's Airboat Adventures" Orlando - booked private tour 1 1/2 hour of St John's River US$160

Started to train the Office to live without me for 4 weeks but not to miss me tooo much. I still need a job when I return.... lol

Me too on the movies thing. I've told DD that she can't watch a couple of things before we go - she needs to watch them on the plane and keep quiet :lmao: Like that's going to happen!

Just changing my ADRs around here and there a little... let me know if anyone wants the Garden Grill, Sept 22 (Thursday) at 4.40pm before I put it on the main cancellation thread in the next day or two.

Also Crystal Palace, 26th September (Monday) at 10.20am. (I'm actually not quite sure how that one even got in there, I think I thought it was a Thursday reservation when I did it, on my teeny tiny phone screen! Or I might have thought it was Cinderella's Table - I've done that a few times lol, gone searching for Cinderella reservations but actually put Crystal Palace in!)

Both are for four people. :)

Are you guys intending on packing suits for your cruise?

I have discussed this on cruise critic, but none of them are travelling from down under on a multileg trip.

No, unless DH happens to buy a suit whilst over there before the cruise, he won't have one to wear on the ship. I expect he will take some nice trousers, a couple of nice shirts and a couple of ties but he won't have a jacket. When we cruise and the cruise is our main holiday, we do take dressier clothes as that is quite fun to dress up but, on this holiday, the cruise is just the last 1/3 of it and I don't want to lug around a lot of clothes that we will only wear on the cruise.

Hope that helps :)

P.S. I find it funny because I really flip flop between being more excited about the WDW part of our holiday and the cruise part. Depending on where I am at, I either spend more time on here or on Cruise Critic. So, this week, it seems to be the cruise hence I'm on CC a lot! :rotfl: Also, last night I booked an adults-only dinner at Portofino for a night mid-cruise. Yummm...:thumbsup2

Yes, I understand how you feel - although I also have a NYC leg that I get excited about as well.

I think I will wait till I am packing and decide about the suit, see if we have room.

I have booked an adults only dinner at Chops for the last night - I dont want to avoid tipping the servers - we have prepaid - but I want to avoid the show where everyone brings out their money and makes a scene- DH would be completely uncomfortable with this.
