Sept / Oct 2011

Ughh - Does that mean DHS is going to be supercrowded every day? :sad2:

I would expect that, as they have included F! every night during the quiet month of September, they will eventually extend it into the busier month of October too. I have scheduled our HS day to be on a 'green' day and then we are going back in the next night for a F! dining package and to watch F!. If there is F! every night, I do fear that my 'green' day will no longer be 'green' :(

I got them from Undercover Tourist as well.

Not sure if I got the best deal, but I wanted to prepurchase as much as I can.

I've been shopping around a bit and I actually think they do have as good a price as anyone else and certainly cheaper than buying direct. By the way the shipping time to Australia or NZ is now 24 days!! So, I'd better get on to it :)

Just got confirmation of Dinner @ Hard Rock with "The Simpsons"

Amazing that the people at Universal laughed at me when I wanted to book 180 days out...L.O.L.

Has anyone done a character dining at universal ? Are they not as good or popular as Disney....

2 x DD's Birthdays to get over and 1 x Tax Return to do (xxxx my fingers for a big one)

79 days to go

Gulp, I just did it! I just booked and paid for our Universal, Sea World and Kennedy Space Center with Undercover Tourist and my Loaded for Travel Visa card got it's first big hit :scared1:

:dance3::dance3: There is something exciting about getting your days to go down into the 30's:lmao: Today is 39 sleeps to go and excitement is setting in in our household:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Wow, I'd be super excited by then! We just hit the 100 days to go mark today and that is a great feeling after all this time :cool1:

I know look at your Pluto - Travel Mum - they are almost touching.!

I think at that stage - I am going to be completely panicked - that I will forget to pack something, that I havent thought and planned for everything.

Geez - its like I have never been on a holiday before.!

:lmao: that's why you need to make your what to pack list now before the excitement takes over your brain and all you can think and breathe is Disney:rotfl:

:eek:I just threw out our last years one and then thought why did i do that i could of used the same list again:sad2:

I have an insane "master list" packing list that I have compiled from on here and from my own trips. Am happy to email it to anyone who would like to use it as a jumping off point.

Remember, I did say it was insane. I am the total "overpacker" :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I have a list of stuff that I have read about on here that is useful in WDW but I cant seem to find in Oz

* Bodyglide
* Dramamine
* Moleskin
* Dr Scholl peppermint foot cream
* Over door shoe holder (I have one of these but its in use in my sons room, and a bit grubby, cant find one now though)
* Purex washing sheets,

Anyone know where I can get any of this stuff in Australia, otherwise I will place an order with Amazon and have it delivered to the resort.

Bodyglide, you need to order online. It's available in Oz, just have never found it in a store. I think I got it from a website that specialised in marathons and equipment or something. Bodyglide is SHEER AWESOMENESS!!!!

Moleskin, you can pick up from most chemists in the footcare section.

The Purex washing sheets are very cool. We never found them here but we ordered them from Garden Grocer to be delivered to our room at WDW with our snacks, drinks etc. and they were really great. So great in fact that my husband insisted that we bring the leftovers home with us. I was just going to toss them because we were running out of room in the cases but he insisted.

Just looking at your shopping list, it looks like you have some "feet" concerns. I am now quite the expert on this subject after our first disasterous trip. I researched like crazy before the 2nd trip and my feet were much better. Happy to discuss further if you need to.

I wouldnt have thought that I would have feet concerns - I comfortably walk 6kms here - but apparently WDW is different - and I think we should be prepared.

I asked in Rebel about bodyglide - I got some very confused looks from the staff -me "its for chafing"
staff ":confused3"

In between my last post I have searched on Amazon and have made a wish list - they have all the stuff I want and will deliver for free - its much easier shopping from my couch.

The body shop does an OK pepermint foot cream but the absolute best is from L'occitane. It is called "Cream Gel for tired legs" or "Gel Creme Jambes Legeres" if you want to ask for it in French.....In any event, it is a little pricy but works wonders on feet and legs after a huge day of walking. If you can get a child or a husband to also massage it in, even better!

Oh good, well that has you all sorted.

For WDW, my advice is to mix it up a little shoe wise. I did sneakers with Coolmax socks (super swear absorbant) during the day, and at night I tried to let my feet breath a little so wore these crocs http://www.crocsaustralia.com.au/crocs-cleo/10043,en_AU,pd.html?cid=478&cgid=women-footwear (mine are black though) and they were kind of like slippers. I seriously have the most temperamental feet, they don't like enclosed shoes, heat, cold, lots of walking, you name it - my feet don't like it :rotfl2::rotfl2:.

Using Bodyglide, Moleskin, Coolmax Socks and changing between expensive Asics sneakers and the croc slides I shared, I came home in such great shape.

The first trip where I took a few precautions but that just really meant new sports socks, expensive Asics and a collection of bandaids. Well, that just did not end well. My feet were so blistered - on the bottom, around the heel, under the toes, it was agony. For 5 days after we returned from that trip I didn't wear shoes. Are you getting the picture??? :scared1:.

Anyway, second time was a charm (sort of) and it was much better.
