Sept Event Pins

Buzz,

Where did you get this information? Are all limited edition? Prices? Are they open to the public or just those that purchased the package?

I'm just a National Enquirier type of guy;)

These are the presale items available to the people who purchased the pin event. The pins are $12.50 each and the framed stuff is $125-500.

Thanks Joette.

I'm still waiting for my packet - maybe tomorrow!

What Were They Thinking???
How can we trade those large framed sets.
And who would want any of those other pins. They look almost like the rack pins, nothing special.
I hope the "free" pin we get for attending the bfst is better than what they are showing us.
I am really not happy with any of these pins except of course the Mickey set, but WAAYYY out of my price range.
Can anyone figure out the "theme" of those maps? and how are other pins going to be on there, I just don't get it.
Where are all the neat pins like last years event? What is the theme? "September event, dig up all the crap and sell it at crazy prices to get rid of it"
Or "September event, put a frame on it and those crazy pin people will buy it" Peggie

Peggie.. I'm with you on this one. I'm not that thrilled and I *hope* this isn't it for the single LE pins!!!

By the way.. their theme is "Why bother trying to compete with the Great Pin Adventure 2" ;) :p

Its already August 27th and we haven't received anything in the mail yet....

Has anyone gotten anything.

nothing here either. I did read that we are limited to one pin per person. I will pass on the frame pins sets, even though I collect them, I didn't really care for them. Nevertheless, there will probably be some leftover if I change my mind.

I agree with all of the above...I think most of last year's pins (maybe with the exception of the villain lenticulars...sorry Dom and Sir Chas and the Pinocchio puppet pins) were unique and special. This year..EH...nothing special as far as I am concerned.

On a positive note, I REALLY like the three "maps" that fit together, and I think I am going to focus on getting those completed and framed as a set.

Can't wait to be there...it's gonna be a blast!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Is there a theme here other than Lauri's suggestion? At least I know I won't be missing anything exciting from the new Disney pins :).

Other than the Dragons framed set (LE 12!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:earseek: :earseek: ) and the Vilians framed set. I have little interest in what I've seen so far. I do collect the Artist Choice pins but based on what I've seen so far there is only 2 I would be interested in, Dopey and Chef Louis. Maybe Jiminy, Peter and the Wolf, and the Cheshire Cat and if they look better in person. The Pluto pin just does not do a thing for me and looks like the type of pin that will have alot of breakage problems.

The "theme" is supposed to be Screams, Dreams and Imagination. Whether that is for only the maps or the whole event I do not know. Right now I am seeing a little each of those themes in the pin designs!

But, the pictures are disappointing.

I hope the pin sale for the breakfast people will be worth it, and whatever free pin we will get.

On the other hand, this is a relief. I was a bit worried about budgeting for RSP pins for five people.

But what about Saturday and Sunday pins? Maybe those will make up for these and be absolutely wonderful! :D Hope so.

I am very dissapointed. This is my first pin event. I have always liked at least half the pins at the other events this year (none of which I attended). The one I am going to only has 1 pin that I kinda like. I am interested in 2 of the framed sets and the figment box set, but $125 is a lot of money. I have a question: If I put down all three of my rsp, what is my chances of actually getting all three. I really can only afford one of them, but I know due to the LE size (12) that I only have a small chance of getting any of them.

Thanks,
Melissa

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one rather disappointed with the pin selection. I'll decide by morning whether or not to submit my RSP, right now I'm leaning toward "eh, I'll wait".

Well, I must say that I am underwhelmed as well.

Of the AC pins -- the Official Conscience pin and the Peter and the Wolf look good. Next choices would be the Cheshire Cat and the Dopey, followed by Pluto and Chef Louis, but I'd like to see what they look like in person. None of them really excite me.

I REALLY like #15, the Family of Character, but not for $125. :earseek:

The maps fitting together is a neat idea, and I'm anxious to see what the core pins look like. The maps look like they will go with the same theme as framed sets # 13, 14, and 15, villains (get out of Dom's way!!! :teeth: ), princesses, and Mickey and friends. I just hope the last one will feature characters other than the usual Fab 5. Let's see some of the underused characters -- Gyro Gearloose, Gladstone Gander, Horace Horsecollar ... for crying out loud, SUPER GOOF!!!!

Well we have not received our packages yet - but we do have one Fed Ex package to pick up tomorrow.

I am kind of bumming though -- we have waited all year for this, our first big official WDW pin event.... and the pins seem to be nothing grand.

But I am sure we will still have a great time and we are excited to meet everyone!!!!!!:Pinkbounc

everyday we talk about our plans for this trip!!!

to keep us entertained. I REALLY wish we had been shown the selection of pins before our cancellation date. I am less than impressed with the lesser expensive pins and certainly cannot see ANY justification in the pricing structure of the sets. Many of us on these boards have had our own pin made. They must know we are not stupid. We have a good idea what pins cost to have made even at the 250 and 300 qty pricing. At Disneys volume purchasing, I really feel as if I am being taken advantage of if I order ANY of those pins.

I really like more of the pin sets than the individual pins and I collect Artist Choice pins. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when the plan for the pins and the pricing sturcture was being discussed. Do they think our wallets have no bottom?

At least I learned from last year. No need to get two of everything. Eveyone who wanted anything semed to have been here. I STILL have pins from last year's event and no one wants them.

Looking forward to GPA2. At least I can afford that fun !! Thanks Jeff, Trina, Matt and Lauri. Unless there is some hidden surprise, the GPA2 is allI will be looking forward to.
