Sept-Dec Room Discounts ~ Information Here

Thanks again Joe!

I crunched the numbers and FD will work out better for us. We have ADRs at some of the higher end restaurants - we love to eat on vacation!

FD would save us $1,232
35% RO discount (Poly) would save us $1,135
The difference is $97 in favor of FD
Plus it looks like the RO discount at the Poly is going to be something less than 35% anyway

Gotta love a vacation that comes with math homework! :teacher:

Will there be a code that I will need to give to my AAA agent? And if the visa website is not updated early morning how can I get the code?

You won't need a code. The CM will find the right one. The code varies depending on where you stay.

Thank you! I am a little nervous though since my agent did say I needed one. Hopefully I won't have a problem!

I just applied for a Disney Visa, was approved, but will not have card in hand by Monday. Can I call on Monday for discount or do I need the card number to charge the reservation? TIA

Hello -

I currently have a RO reservation at POR. This reservation starts at the last day of the prior promo (Sept 28) - so only the first night of our 6 night stay is currently on the old discount.

If we call back on Aug 1 to get try and get the discount for the rest of the rooms, would they be able to apply this to our current reservation? Or would this require two separate reservations?

We really do not want to have the possibility of a split reservation and potential room change (3 rooms and many young children on this trip).

I wish our trip could just start one day later, but it is not possible - would make it so much easier.

I tried calling today to see if they would know anything. She absolutely knew nothing about any discounts coming out next week.

Yes, you will have to have a split reservation. When you make the second one, ask the CM to link it to the first one. That will help the room assignor know what's going on. When you check in, mention it to the CM to ensure that you aren't moving rooms. You will need to get new KTTW cards made for the second reservation (the check in CM will tell you what you need to do the next day).

They won't. They will just come in that AM and the code will be loaded in the system. Some won't even realize it until after the phone lines have been open a couple of hours

Room discounts work different than free dining. You get a room discount on each night it's offered, so in your case you would just get it for the nights of your stay it applies....very easy and simple.

Will they limit the number of rooms available for this discount? In other words, it may not be available for every resort and room type even if they are on the discounted dates?

There's always a certain allotment, but they do open more rooms up over time. There may be some room types that book up, while others will not. It's all about popularity and exactly why AOA and POFQ always tend to sell out first.

For the most part. For example there may be a discount offered for a resort but only a preferred room type will be available. Another example would be a Art of Animation, only Cars or Lion King suites may be available even if Nemo suites aren't specifically excluded. (Little Mermaid standard rooms continue to be specifically excluded from discounts.)

Ahhh. This makes it so hard! We are booked at AKL Savannah view and will be there for FD (hopefully). But with a 3 and 6 YO I know that we would never pay that in food while there....but do we get the RO discount with a lesser view? Man is will be a long weekend of flip flopping I'm sure!

I'm going through the same thing. We decided on CR TPV or CR CL for our December trip and if CR is included with the lesser discount, I have to decide how badly we want to try it or choose a different deluxe with a greater discount.

Since the promo would start after your check in date, you would have to have 2 separate reservations. The chances of you having to change rooms are probably pretty slim, however, it is not guaranteed and you may have to move.

I have had pretty good luck with follow on reservations. If it were me, I'd make the two. When you check in the first night, be sure to talk to the CM about your follow on reservation. They will tell you what to do the next morning. (Fingers crossed, they will tell you you're staying in the same room, and to come down and get new keys in the morning.)

Your other option rather than two reservations would one reservation at the new discount. It should price out showing your first night at rack rate, and then the rest at the discount.

I'm going to have to run some numbers tonight. The site doesn't work for me at work.

Right now we are booked WL courtyard view on a bounceback for the first week of December. Of course only the first few days are discounted. It looks like this might offer a discount for the whole week and even though I think its lower then what we have would work out better since we have several nights at rack rate right now.

We were origonally booked at the end of October at the Poly but we had to move our trip because of a wedding. I was so bummed. We chose WL for December becuase its really pretty for the holidays and its a little cheaper since we were only getting a discount through the 4th I think.

We are using the bounce back for those same five days, Nov 30th to Dec 4th. The bounce back was 35% off WL. It would be nice if the new discount is for 35%. But if the new discount for WL is 30% or less then you would have to decide if it is worth it to do a split reservation, keeping your bounce back rate for those five nights and then doing a second reservation at the other discount. The difference in cost of that extra 5% would have to be weighted against the inconvenience of a split stay.

Just want to confirm..The RO discount is not like the FD, in that it goes by each day discount and not from when you check in? correct?

I know on FD as long as we check in by Dec 22, the whole trip has free dining (staying until Jan 1) but with the RO discount, only the 22-23rd would be discounted. Do I have that right?
If so I think FD would be the best for us (4disney adults)!
Thanks for the help.
