Sept-Dec Room Discounts ~ Information Here

I would like to try and avoid waiting on hold for hours come 7 a.m. on Monday. Any idea if both preferred and standard rooms will be the same discount at Pop Century?

We already had to downgrade from the POFQ to the Pop because of no free dining, and I really don't want to downgrade to Standard at the Pop unless it gets the best discount.

We're going 12/2 - 12/11 , regardless of the Pop Warner event, because I don't like coming back the weekend before Christmas.

Just want to confirm..The RO discount is not like the FD, in that it goes by each day discount and not from when you check in? correct?

I know on FD as long as we check in by Dec 22, the whole trip has free dining (staying until Jan 1) but with the RO discount, only the 22-23rd would be discounted. Do I have that right?
If so I think FD would be the best for us (4disney adults)!
Thanks for the help.

That is correct. FD is going to save you WAY more money. :thumbsup2

I just applied for a Disney Visa, was approved, but will not have card in hand by Monday. Can I call on Monday for discount or do I need the card number to charge the reservation? TIA

You have to have the card in hand, and Chase will not give you the card number over the phone for security reasons.

Thanks for the quick reply smitch!

FD it is and my family will be in heaven eating so much for that long. :rotfl2: I will probably be in the room with a bellyache. haha! We are totally not big eaters but do love to try new places and the FD seems to be the perfect time to do some table service places. Now to find the 10 most amazing places to use the TS credits. This will be fun! :cool1:

I am sure this has been asked, but I am not finding it. We have two rooms booked at BWI December 2-7. We have free dining from the pin, but in the case of a 35% discount it would benefit us with the room discount. We booked long before the ticket prices increased, but now that they have will they change the entire package and use the new rates, or will my package remain in tact just swapping free dining for room discount?
Thanks so much for a reply and I do apologize if it is a repeat question.

O.K., so I just called Disney about another issue and mentioned that there are rumblings about a room only discount coming out on Monday. The guy literally laughed at me and said he "can assure me that there is no room only discount coming out on Monday". He said "if you don't hear it directly from Disney it's not true". Gotta say he ticked me off a little bit. I told him "lets just pretend there is...can you answer my question about my reservations?" He was willing to answer my questions, but laughed the whole time that I might think there was really a discount coming out. :crazy2: Wish I could call him directly on Monday if this deal comes through!

You won't need a code. The CM will find the right one. The code varies depending on where you stay.

Well, that depends on the CM you get...

A few years ago I called the day a RO discount was released to apply to my reservation. The CM wouldn't apply it unless I gave her the code. I was pretty certain she was just being a pill and trying to give me a hard time for some reason.

Thank goodness for the DIS! I made her wait on the phone while I looked it up here. I initially accidentally gave her the package code, then all of a sudden she knew the RO code.

So my advice is to have the code handy prior to calling.

This seems to happen often. Sometimes it happens in reverse and a CM tells someone a discount is coming when it isn't. In fact, here's a flyer (in spanish) for this very discount, borrowed from Dave's site. http://**************.net/2013/07/25/overseas-offer-hints-at-disney-world-general-public-fall-room-only-discount/

I had a room only booked and then applied for a Disney Visa the day that the discount came out. I was able to apply the Disney Visa discount to my exisiting reservation, even though I did not have card in hand. I'm not sure if it was because I had already paid the deposit and would not have had to give it anyway. Just giving my experience.

Bahaaaaaa! We'll show him on Monday!! :-)

If you do room only with the discount, can you add tickets and dining plan?

You can book a package with tickets and dining and have a room only discount applied to the room portion of the package.

If you have a room only reservation you would need to book a package to get the dining/ticket combo. You can't add that to a room only reservation.

I'd consider yourself lucky. They are supposed to take a new deposit with the DV when booking it.

Thinking of trying to use the RO discount as an excuse to upgrade to CL. :D Does anyone know if I would be re-booking if I were to upgrade from standard to CL room?

That's what I'm trying to do too :) I convinced my husband of CL when I showed him the discounts! Excited for Monday!!!

I hope this is not a stupid question. When it says the Poly is 20% off... does that also include the club level rooms? I'm trying to talk my husband into trying the club level rooms but do not think I could convince him for less than 30% off rate. Thank you.

Ok, new scenario here. I'm planning on trying to book a RO discount on Monday for a trip in December. However, I will be going to WDW in October and am going to buy an AP. Would they be able to add a dining plan to my RO reservation if everyone in the room would have an AP? TIA. I've been running numbers for 2 weeks staight trying to figure what makes more sense. And two 4 day tickets with PH are about the same as an AP.

If you are just changing your room type and not reservation type (package to RO or RO to package), there is no need to rebook. The only time you have to cancel and rebook is when you change reservation types. Since RO and packages are different reservation systems, money paid toward one cannot be applied to the other.

It depends whether or not CL rooms need to be filled during a specific time. If a specific room type is at or near capacity for a given time frame, chances are slim that that particular room type will be included in a promo.

With an AP, you can only add the DDP without the ticket requirement if you pay rack rate for the room or get an AP discount on the room. Using a general public/Disney visa discount requires you to purchase a minimum 1 day base ticket for everyone in the room in order to get the DDP.

Tacking onto Mickeynut... You'd be booking a ticketless package so you would cancel and rebook just like normal. They can't add the DP to a room only reservation even though that's technically what you're getting.
