Sept-Dec Room Discounts ~ Information Here

I'm sorry, I might have missed something. But have these discounts been released? We are traveling from 11/5-11/10 and would love to apply a discount!

Debating between just going with the RO discount and saving the extra money versus trying to upgrade to CL (at Poly). If CL rooms would be offered at 35%, we'd still save about $350 off of what we've currently budgeted for!! We had originally decided CL wasn't worth the extra money, but with the discount, it's not more than what we've been planning to pay. Plus, we might be able to drop DDP by taking advantage of CL food items. Any thoughts on this strategy?

Does anyone know if CL rooms are usually included in this type of offer?

Not necessarily...for some folks the RO discount is actually the better bargain in the long run.

I have heard countless stories from folks who claim there was too much food when they used the Free Dining program. In many instances they felt they were wasting food. Don't kid yourself...you are still theoretically paying for the food during Free Dining promotion, you are simply paying less. So if you are not eating all the food offered, and that food gets thrown away, you may not feel as if you are saving as much as you thought.

Good luck! :thumbsup2

Funny thing is, I actually miss the appetizer being included. I almost always end up buying an appetizer at every table service I go to. I love to eat on vacation and that, to me, is a major part of the experience. I've always come out ahead when totaling up my meals after my trip, but I tend to eat at the highest end places there are...Coral Reef, Chefs de France, etc...

So for me...bring on the food!!! :thumbsup2

Thank you!!

So I can use the AAA discount for the first few nights and then apply the room only discount (without the AAA discount) for the remainder of the stay, correct?

You would have to check out and in to use two discounts. You can only use one discount per reservation.

Not yet. They will be out for the public on Thursday Aug 1, and should be available for Disney Visa/debit holders Monday July 29.

ahhh, I see this isn't coming out until 8/1 or at least that's the hope.

For you experts out there help me out to understand this. In the past I have always booked with a promo; this time I did not. I am staying at the WL from 11/29 to 12/5. I have the DxDP and of course my park tickets. If I change,do I just pay for one night at full price on 11/29 and then the remainder as my package? How does this affect my plan already? Do I end up paying oop for my first night's adr? Thanks. :confused3

I've always booked FD with my Disney Chase but this time will be doing a RO discount for only one night. To get the FD I had to use Disney Chase to book during that promo time (at least deposit amount), I'm assuming same is true for RO discount? And since it is only one night paid in full at booking? Thanks!

Ok guys, here's some info.

The Room Only Discounts will run from September 29th until December 23rd, with blackouts during Thanksgiving week (Nov 23-29).

This could be available for booking August 1, with Visa holders getting in on July 29.

The Discounts vary depending on resort, and should be along the lines of the following (note: these are fluid and can fluctuate slightly after release):

Value Resorts = up to 25%
Moderate Resorts = up to 30%
Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villa Resorts = up to 35%

These percentages can vary by room type and availability. For example, Resorts such as French Quarter and Art of Animation are likely be less. It's just too detailed to list each specific at this time, as even rooms in the same resort can have different discounts. So the percentages above should be read as a maximum percentage off, since some room types are lower.

As usual, some rooms, such as Little Mermaid rooms and Campsites, are excluded.

A word of thanks as well to Dave at **************. He and I have had continued discussions on this topic for some time and shared much insight on the Free Dining and Room Discount promotions both in September and beyond.

Thank you so much Joe and Dave for this information!!! It is so much appreciated!!!! I will be ready at 7 am on Monday with my Disney Visa in hand! :worship::worship::worship:

Yes, you would get discounts on each night that falls within the promotion.

This is different from free dining, where your check-in date MUST fall during the promotion, and you then get the entire stay with free dining...even if the rest of your stay falls outside the promotion dates.

I tweaked the title of this thread. I didn't realize, the way it was phrased, it looked like I was asking people to post their info or something.

I hear ya....for folks who are big eaters, and as you noted like to eat at the high end places, then FD may be the better bargain.

I agree that eating is a major part of the WDW experience....can't wait to get back to Ohana'.

Hooray for the RO discounts!!
Question... When I call on Monday, if I want to add a day to our already booked MYW package while applying a RO discount, will they have to cancel/rebook my reservation (thus increasing my park ticket costs) or can they keep the same reservation.

If they must cancel, I believe that a split stay with just one night on the first reservation might make the most sense. I presume that there isn't a minimum night stay for the RO discount. Correct??

Room only discounts are very easy to handle. The CM will apply the discount to your reservation without any problems. You can add a day without rebooking. :goodvibes

Hi, all! Thanks for the great info - newbie question.

The current room only promotions says the check in date has to fall in the promotion - but I thought they just applied it to the nights that applied (and if one was blacked out you paid the higher price, but didn't have to make a separate reservation). If our check in is the 29th, does that mean we have to have a room only the 29th and our package the 30th so our check in is on a valid promotion date?

Thanks from all the experienced DISers!

If the non-discounted night/s fall at the end of your vacation they can just add the day/s at the higher rate BUT if your adding a day/s at the beginning which s not discounted you will need a separate reservation. It is just how the reservation system is set up.

Great news!! Thanks, OP! This will come in super handy for my and DH's adults-only anniversary trip. :)

Thanks so much. Very informative for a newbie to both the boards and Disney itself.

You're welcome :goodvibes.

If we have a red that was made not paying deposit withvDisney Visa can we get the Ro and make another payment using the visa or do we have to make a new red or wait till Thursday?

You should be able to have the discount applied to your existing reservation on the 29th and just make an additional payment with the Disney Visa :).

As the pp said, you can use different discounts, but it would require 2 separate reservations.

I think CL is a great idea if you can get a good discount. Some people get the DDP along with CL and some don't, it's just a matter of personal preference. It is possible to get a CL room with a discount, but it depends on whether or not that particular room type needs to be filled.

Yes, if you are booking just 1 night RO, it will be paid in full as a RO reservation requires a deposit of 1 night's room rate + tax. My guess is RO will have to be paid with the Disney visa.

As the pp said, if the promo starts in the middle of your stay, you would have to book 2 separate reservations. If your check in date was within the promo dates, the nights not included would be at rack rate, but you could still book just 1 reservation. But if your check in date falls before the promo starts, there's no way to book 1 reservation and have the discount applied to just a few nights in the middle or end of the stay.

Ahhh. This makes it so hard! We are booked at AKL Savannah view and will be there for FD (hopefully). But with a 3 and 6 YO I know that we would never pay that in food while there....but do we get the RO discount with a lesser view? Man is will be a long weekend of flip flopping I'm sure!
