Sept. 7, 2012 - Magic NYC - Canada

Our travel documents arrived today so did BFF #1 who is also in VA. Have not heard yet from the CA member of our group. Sue

Now that's a great guy :cool2:

I am making a new FE for this cruise since its just the 2 of us - DH was telling me this morning how I should decorate it :rotfl2: - I think he is more into it then I am.

Thanks! Yours too! We must rubbing off on DHs, lol :rotfl:

I really need to start cranking on my FEs as I have 60 to make for cruise 1, haven't counted for this one or the 3rd one yet, but I've only made about 20 total. But, I have gotten the packaging sorted, label template is almost done, and I've gotten sheets of magnets from Staples for my door. I have so much do in 34 days, lol :lmao:

Thanks for the magical welcome! We live in Kings Park, north shore of Suffolk County. I usually obsess over a disney vaca well before this, but have been a little busy. My regular source, allears, was a little slim on cruise stuff. I am winding my way through this huge, wonderful thread, and I have a couple of questions that I might have missed the answers to.....
Will there be a princess tea party on this cruise?
I am really just getting up to speed here, and only did my online reg yesterday. I was able to get excursions (pink bus for all with the knots added for DH and the boys in Halifax and in St John critters and creatures for DH and the boys and Alice Tea for me and the princess). I was unable to book any day, any time at palo for brunch or dinner. I called DCL and they advised me to try once I board. Will there actually be any availability, or we're they just trying to not disappoint me....?
I looked under the spa activities to try to reserve a pass for the rainforest, but did not see it anywhere, any ideas?
Thanks for all your help, can't wait to get sailing!
Amy

It would be great if there is a Princess Tea party. I'm planning a Mother/Daughter's Luncheon in Lumiere's but would happily move to a Tea Party. I guess I should try to find a Navigator or call DCL.

I'm in the same boat as you regarding Brunch / Dinner. They told me to go to the Rockin Bar. In years past when I had to go there for High Tea I was 100% able to get it. And speaking of High Tea, they have discontinued it on all there ships to make room for Brunch, but yet Brunch was sold out???

The first day they will have a tour and raffle usually at 3pm at the Spa. They will offer the packages up at the spa.

:welcome:

I posted the following vote on FB and wanted you all to let me know please as well...

I'd be so grateful if you could help me out please. These cruises are my first official DIS meets. On the 9/12 cruise several of us mentioned how we really want to win a Spa Raffle that is usually at 3pm & they moved the meet to 2:30pm. I especially hope I win a much needed $120 massage as I do Physical Therapy for $20 1/week and a Massage Envy massage for $49 1/week b/c I've just had my 10th & 11th surgeries on 7/13 & 7/20. And 2 x $120 is double my budget for medical needs while on the Magic.

:flower3: 2:30 pm DISMeet Time (New Time Please)
:scared: 3:00 pm DISMeet Time (Original Time)

If it does start at 2:30pm it still could go to 3:45pm right before the Muster Drill. And that way it could accommodate all of us.

Your help on this is greatly appreciated! :thanks:

P.S. I've always wanted to do the tour as well as some have pointed out so how does this sound...

2:00 pm Tour
2:30 pm Start of DISMeet (we get there right as tour is finishing)
3:00pm for those of who want to win a Spa raffle we go up there for 15/20 minutes, Then return to the meet til 3:45
3:45 Head to Muster Stations printed on room key (We don't need to get life vests so no need to go to the room.)
4:00 Muster Drill

How does this sound? :scratchin

I would agree on 2:30 - this is my first adult only DCL trip and I really want to go to the Spa raffle as well at 3:00pm. Although I also want to do the ship tour that starts at 2:00 or 2:30. So many things to do, so little time.

OK, just found this thread, and I am SO excited! DH and I and the 4 kiddos ds8 ds7 ds5 and dd3 the princess will be in adjoining cabins on our 1st Disney cruise! We are traveling with our friends and their 4 kids too. I have signed us up for the FE exchange, the kids are already thinking up designs and gifts. Thanks to whoever started one for this sailing. About us-We have DVC-home boardwalk, have been to WDW a few times, and have been on a Carnival and a RC cruise, but never combined the two. We just cannot wait to set sail. We live on Long Island, about an hour from NYC. I will be scouring this thread, and the rest of the board for tips and info.

Are your friends planning on doing the FE exchange as well??

Lucky you :cheer2: - we are in PA hopefully they'll come soon!

No docs yet for this CA traveler :) Can't wait though!

2nd BFF who is in Sacramento area also got hers yesterday. We made these reservations about a year ago and our 3 reseravations are linked I wonder if that is why we got ours so soon! Here is hopping the rest of the group gets their soon! Happy Tuesday!

I also want to take the ship tour at 2:00. Not sure how long it is but then head to the Dismeet and hopefully get there between 2:30 and 2:45. I have no plans to go to the spa tour but will stay at the Dismeet until its time to go to the muster drill.

Others have mentioned it ends at 2:30 down by Guest Services just a minute or two walk from the Promenade Lounge.

So we should be good :goodvibes

I have no problem with making that adjustment. I might like to try and win a spa treatment myself.

Val, :thanks: so much!
Now, if I could just find the bookmarked link to your account :rotfl: I have been marking so many pages for so many things my head is spinning :faint:

Yes, please update the other map and I'll be sure to thank JKPMAC. Are they in this thread? How do I find them?

And, do I have to send to VistaPrint or can I print on Staples or Avery magnetic paper per DCL's requests for magnets vs any other adhesion device?

Thanks again, :worship:

Tammy, I'm so glad I caught it. Could you imagine people trying to hang gifts on a fish that may or not have a FE on the cabin you had? :lmao:

Oh and don't forget about A.C. Moore too :goodvibes

Wow, does the car have a cat name for it's model like a Jaguar? :rotfl:

Maybe the first day before your luggage is in the room and unpacked? :)

That is too cool! I will have to remember that for next year when it will be our 12th Anniversary. Do you all know each other from previous cruises since you run Champagne Girls, Ella or did you recruit newbies from this thread? :goodvibes

Speaking of, just wondering why this cruise is just a pink meeting vs an all out Champagne Girls? I was so bummed I hadn't signed up for the DIS before the 2011 Panama Canal cruise as I heard CG was amazing!:cutie:

And, I really need to get a notebook out to take notes for my 3 cruises b/c I can't remember when/where is our initial meet. I know that the 9/12 sailing moved the meet to 2:30pm Day 1 from 3:00pm so a bunch of us can try to win a Spa Raffle like a much needed $120 massage since I do $20 PT 1/week for the 2 surgeries I just had. If that is the same time on this one maybe it could be moved too?

:thanks: ALL for a GREAT thread!

Hi Christa, our dinner table is a mix. Corinne and Rich sailed with us on our Panama crossing in 2008. The rest of the table we just met on this thread. But it's fun to have a table that's celebrating something....ours is anniversaries.

Sorry about not having a champagne girls tasting on this cruise. Since it's a short one, it's not going to happen. Instead, we are having a NON champagne girls meeting for a drink or two. You should wear pink and come to that. It's on the 8th in Diversions at 2:30pm. We'll have fun without any of the work involved in planning a tasting.

Great, so 2:30 DISMeet start time at the Promenade Lounge on the 7th (after the tour would allow a bunch of us to nip out for 15 minutes at 3pm for the Spa to return until just before the muster drill); and then a 2:30 "Pink" meeting at Diversions on the 8th (which hopefully will be enough time after the Mother/Daughter Luncheon if it ends up on the 8th). :goodvibes

That's great you're celebrating wedding anniversaries! I'm celebrating my 20th anniversary of being a cancer Survivor :littleangel:

Rich and I, 36th anniversary (not until Dec)

Then we will celebrate yours on the last night of the cruise because it's the closest to your anniversary. 36 is definitely worth celebrating!

We met Ella (Deb) and her DH on the WB 2008 PC cruise. It was the best cruise we have had so far. The people we met are awesome and still keep in touch.

We started our thread in January of 2007. It's still going strong today. I think we're on part 20 of the AFTER cruise threads. A lot of us have cruised together again on more cruises. We call ourselves thieves as our logo was the ship of thieves stealing the magic from the atlantic to the pacific. We had about 40 thieves on a whale watching excursion in Juno on the Alaska maiden voyage. A lot of us were on the Hawaii cruise as well, we all did a luau together. Then we also visit WDW and get together.

:thanks: 1 Day a time :goodvibes

It is amazing meeting new people each cruise and keeping them as friends. Though I love WDW, there is just something so special about cruising that you don't get in the parks

I couldn't agree more, Christa.

That's right....2:30 on the 7th in the Promenade Lounge and 2:30 on the 8th in Diversions....wear PINK.

We will do a cheers to your 20th anniversary of being a cancer survivor in Diversions when we meet.
