Sept. 7, 2012 - Magic NYC - Canada

Courtesy of Kelley Leidemer from our September 2nd Canada cruise I present the "Roaming Gnome"...

The event photo (on FB) will be printed on a magnet. I will start the roaming and hope that you all will join in the fun. The Rules are simple (see below). On the last night the last person to get it will sign it and bring it back to my room. I will then photo it when I get home and post here and on FB. I saw the 9/2 version and thought it was too adorable and fun not to do on the 9/7 and 9/12 cruises! So I hope you do too!!

Rules: Write your name / room number on this
Door magnet then stick it on a fellow DIS’ers door.
Let’s see how many rooms the Gnome can roam
Please return magnet to room 7024 on the last night of the cruise
Disney Cruise Line – Canada & New England Cruise – Sept 12 – 17, 2012

Enjoy

Hi,
My name is mindy and my mom's is Pauline. We are both over 18. Our stateroom number has not been determined yet because we were part of the GYL so we won't know until closer to the cruise our state room number. We are so excited about this! I joined the fb group and my screens me is genequeen19!

Great, I've updated the event on FB... http://www.facebook.com/events/253509228094132/

Are you on there too? :goodvibes

I hope ya'll don't mind but since I have 3 B2B2B cruises to prepare for I needed to streamline my FE lists. I tweaked the online spreadsheet a bit and hope it helps everyone. Though the cutoff is August 1st, I wanted to test to see if the file would upload and also give people a preliminary list. Hope it helps! :goodvibes

http://excel.office.live.com/x/Exce...September+7th+FE+Spreadsheet+Streamlined.xlsx

I appreciate your assistance, however by uploading a separate excel document we now have two lists floating about the thread. :scared:

I know the existing form does not play well with being printed landscape on a traditional Letter size paper, which is due to the form being changed after some had already been filling it out. To not break the data table with the web form, I left the columns as is.

The list that Christa (HopeSparkles) created is an easier to follow list, based off of the google doc for the FE list. So if you are looking at that list don't worry, it has the same information as the google doc. :cool1:

The form to fill out for the FE group is located at: http://goo.gl/8wj6H
If you want to view the data from the group, or make a correction, you can do so here: http://goo.gl/caGqs

There has been a group consensus to have a "cutoff" by August 1st to express your participation with the Fish Extender (FE). So if you want to ensure you are included, sign up prior to that date!

I apologize that I have not been able to check the FB thread or the disboard thread on a daily basis over the past week. If anyone has a question, feel free to email me at eoppie AT gmail DOT com

For all the PM's that people have sent asking about the two lists please reference the above. I hope this clears up some confusion! :thumbsup2

If you are having an issue with the google document, feel free to email me at the contact above!

Just also as an FYI Maria sent me a form she created for the cruisers that may have a change to their stateroom onboard.

Maria (mariaelenak) has offered to be the keeper of a change sheet. Awesome idea Maria!

On another note, we have a room assignment! Stateroom 7026. :dance3:

We were previously in the GTY crowd.

pixiedust: 6 weeks and counting pixiedust:

In just 6 short weeks we all will be arriving at the Port and getting to board for our "MAGIC"al cruise :cheer2:

Can't wait to meet everyone :cool2:

Oh! I can do that! I thought you would be the keeper of the change sheet since I wasn't participating this time. But if you want, I can do it. It will give me an excuse to hang my FE on the door.

Six weeks sounds so close. I like it.

I've posted on other boards but no one has gotten back to me. WOndering if anyone here has heard how they work in NY.

Flying in from MA (I know, a little ridiculous) and using DCL transfers. I believe we arrive at JFK at 11am. Does anyone know how it works? Where do we go when we get off the plane? Do we have to find a desk or a person? Also, if we check baggage do we get it or does DCL take care of it? (that would be amazing!) Anything else I need to know?

We have transfers booked for coming home too, but I may cancel those and just take a cab........

Christa,

I wanted to tell you that they kicked my DH out of Michael's last week at closing time, he was trying to find the right color of paint for my FE gifts. I bought the wrong color and he stopped to exchange them for me :rotfl2:

Tammy,

That is hilarious! :rotfl: So, this is the week for funny DH stories... He wiped out the local Michaels of everything I need but I need more. So while on the way to a drs appt I see there is a JoAnne's across the street. He goes in and asks for the "blah blah" in which case they reply that they don't sell it. He says Michaels and AC Moore sell it where they reply we're a fabric store and haven't sold it on 2 years! He leaves, finds a Michaels around the corner that we didn't know about that had some more of which he wiped them out too! The sad thing is he hates to shop! Ahh, the things our DHs do for love! Especially since he's not even coming on these cruises! :rotfl2:

I will ask for you. I have a friend from my last cruise in June who took transfers.

Now that's a great guy :cool2:

I am making a new FE for this cruise since its just the 2 of us - DH was telling me this morning how I should decorate it :rotfl2: - I think he is more into it then I am.

Okay, got the response back from one of the ladies I met on my June cruise. Here's what she said about her Disney Transfer:

"We did the transfer and it was great! Went down to baggage claim and they were waiting for us, had a sign with our last name on it. They were so pleasant (no surprise there) and had a very nice brand new Mercedes bus waiting for us and took us right to the ship. We were the only ones they picked up. Took us back to the airport in a bus with lots of others. Pleasant and wonderful as well."

OK, just found this thread, and I am SO excited! DH and I and the 4 kiddos ds8 ds7 ds5 and dd3 the princess will be in adjoining cabins on our 1st Disney cruise! We are traveling with our friends and their 4 kids too. I have signed us up for the FE exchange, the kids are already thinking up designs and gifts. Thanks to whoever started one for this sailing. About us-We have DVC-home boardwalk, have been to WDW a few times, and have been on a Carnival and a RC cruise, but never combined the two. We just cannot wait to set sail. We live on Long Island, about an hour from NYC. I will be scouring this thread, and the rest of the board for tips and info.

Welcome to the cruise and to the DIS. You'll love the Magic, and you can't beat the airfare coming from LI :lmao: Where do you live on LI? My wife and I both grew up on LI (Uniondale and the Five Towns), but now live northwest of the city.
