Sept. 7, 2012 - Magic NYC - Canada

EllaEnchanted, found you on another thread about the Champagne Girls. I was wondering if you are planning a pink party on the Canadian Cruise. Please let me know if so, I would love to join in the fun.

Thanks,
Linda

Ohhh that would be so much fun - count me in if you do it princess:

Bob and I just booked this cruise. I haven't read through the thread yet but I am hoping to get ideas on where to stay and how best to get to the pier.

:cheer2:Welcome to a fellow Californian:cheer2:
Notice you are from San Francisco. DH and I are originally from San Carlos lived there over 40 years. BFF and her husband are driving to NY from Sacramento to go on this which will be their first Disney Cruise! Sue

I'm not too concerned that it was cancelled. I just booked the regular one, which is fine. They didn't wake me up, I'm in FL and DH is in DE. DH works nights and is used to getting woke up by phone calls. Plus I don't think I told him that I had booked an excursion so he would have been confused if he was awake too. :rotfl2:

It was great that you could book the regular one. It was good that they didn't wake you up and poor DH didn't stand a chance either way. hahaha.

Sorry ladies, I'm not hosting a Champagne Girls event on this cruise. It's too short and I just want to relax. I just finished doing one on the Hawaii cruise for 95 ladies. It was a lot of fun, but it was a lot of work and money too. I'm taking this cruise off. BUT if anyone else is interested in hosting it, I'll help you with all the info and then I'll just attend. :goodvibes

HI Val and Bob.....welcome aboard. I'm so glad that we'll be cruising together again.

Everyone, Val and Bob and Me and John just cruised together on the Hawaii cruise. Now we're doing this one next.....small world after all.

Not sure where to recommend that you stay, but I would take a cab to the port from your hotel. There are lots of great hotels and restaurants in NYC. Any of them are just a cab ride away getting to the port.

Welcome Val & Bob - we are taking the Amtrak train into Penn Station then a taxi to the port. I'm looking for a hotel for the night before the cruise, but most are running about $300/night and I really don't want to pay that much.

My new suitcases sitting here next me and I swear they are chanting "pack me, pack me" - is it September yet?????

I won't committ to hosting, but if you don't mind giving me the details of what is involved, I would consider it.

Wow 95 ladies - I bet that was alot of work :scared1: but I'm sure it was tons of fun too!

Send me your email address and I'll send you all the info. There's a lot, so I don't want to post it on here.

Basically, you have to decide how you want to coordinate it. Do you want DCL to organize it or do you want to buy the champagne from DCL and just have a sommelier come to discuss the various champagnes. Both ways are different. I coordinate my own. I order the champagne that I want from DCL.

I'll send you all the info by email. AND YES 95 ladies was a lot of fun, but a lot of work and money too.

I did an Orbitz search for hotels in NYC and found one that's a 4 star for only $202 per night. It's in a good area and close to Times Square, which is not far from the port. It's the Algonquin Hotel, 59 West 44th Street. Do an orbitz search and you can book it through them for that price.

Just an FYI.

Just checked on Orbitz - when I went to book the hotel the total price for our one night totaled $457.00 :confused3:confused3

Let's see if this link works. I went back to Orbitz and I got the same price that I got before. I don't know why it's coming out so much higher for you. Did you do a search for all hotels on that date? Do you use a Mac or a PC. It makes a difference in price....believe it or not.

SORRY, the link is not working.

My niece and her husband are in the Army and been trying to coordiante a trip to WDW let alone a cruise. Thank you for the service that your family provides for the freedom of our country. Sue

Thank you I can sympathize with your niece we tend to plan last minute and get travel insurance because he can be called away at anytime.

Thanks for the positive thoughts! I was successful! We'll be at Palo Brunch on Saturday at 12:30 and Palo Dinner on Sunday at 7pm. I had to move times around (a bit stressful at midnight!) but it all worked out. I got them added to our excursions as well. We have the Coastal Peggy's Cove and Wild Blueberry Tour booked.

We'll be celebrating my mom's 60th on board, also August 3rd! :wizard::bday:

It's a great day to be born :)

I noticed that OGT, IGT and VGT fares are now being offered.

Hopefully this increases the likelihood that I'll be able to upgrade at the port.

Sorry, could you please explain what OGT, IGT and VGT fares are? Thanks.
