Sept. 7, 2012 - Magic NYC - Canada

:yay::yay: :cool1: :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :yay:

Ok can you tell I'm happy - I am officially paid in full - submitted my last payment to Dreams Unlimited at 9:30pm and by 10:00pm it was applied to my account and PAID IN FULL :woohoo:

I was able to make my Palo reservations for both the Brunch (2nd sea day) and Dinner (1st sea day) as well as book my excursions - Peggy's Cove with HOHO and Saint John's River Crusie. Not too sure about the excursions, may switch them once DH gets a chance to look at them.

Time for bed :cloud9:

We're also doing Palo dinner on the first sea day and Palo brunch on the second sea day. Maybe we'll see you there too.

Hi Tammy, we're doing the St John's River Cruise too. We're doing it at 1:15pm. What time are you doing it? Maybe we'll see each other there.

1:15 for us too - we've never did an afternoon excursion - do you know if they meet on the ship or at the dock? DH wants to go into port for Lobster, wondering if we'll have time????

Our Palo dinner is on Saturday at 8:00pm and our brunch is Tuesday at 12:30pm.

I don't know for certain, but every other DCL excursion I have taken, we meet onboard. If you wanted to go for Lobster somewhere you would have to do it early and be back by 1pm the latest.

I know that we won't have time after the excursion. It's 4 hours long and is scheduled to get back at 4:45pm. I'm sure we'll be close to the all aboard and leaving soon thereafter.

I know how your DH feels. I wanted to have a great Lobster lunch too. But I'm sure we'll have some onboard so I don't mind.

Our Palo Dinner and Brunch are on the same days as yours, but our times are different. We have dinner at 6pm and brunch at 11:30am.

We'll pass each other by.

We have done afternoon excursions and they meet on the ship in the same locations as the morning ones.

BFF from CA logged on at 9:15 CA time and the site told her she could not book until tomorrow then she logged on at 12:12 am booked her shore excursions showed our Palo times as sold out.:scared1: When she tried to confirm the shore excursions I don't know what they picked it cancel them and would not take them! When I got up early this AM I was able to add them to our Palo reservations not sure what happen with that but at least we got that. This is her first experience with DCL website and before she retired she did a lot of IT work and is very computer savy. Now she knows what a challenge the site cant be! We have Palo Brunch first at sea day at noon and Dinner last night at 7.

Guess we'll get off the ship as soon as we can and plan for an early lunch. I read about a place called Steamers that is near the dock and it looks like they open at 11am.

I read in someone's trip review that they didn't offer lobster which surprised them since it is a Canadian cruise :confused3

Darn, you'll be fininshing as we arrive - you'll have to tell us what is good. I'm so excited for the dinner - we have never done that before.

Awesome - can't wait to print them - the other ones the were posted we pictures and hard to read. Making the a little easier!

Thanks for the info - that's what I thought, but was hoping that maybe we could have meet on the pier - would have made it easier for us :)

For such a huge company, Disney certainly is computer challenged :confused3 We've had trouble in the past as well.

Glad you were able to add them to your reservations and that it all worked out

Thank you. DH is deciding how the alcohol tastings fit into his schedule!:rotfl2:

He'll just have to keep in mind that they could change the times depending on who's on board doing the tastings. Oh no......he might have to make some more decisions.
I know that I'll do the margarita/tequila tasting. I'm sure DH and my cousin and his wife will do the beer tasting. I'll probably just tag along to that one if there's a seat nearby or just enjoy the quiet while they are drinking or I could book the spa for myself then. So many decisions to make.......

I've done the wine tasting a couple of times so I'll probably pass on that one this time since I'm really the only one that drinks wine.

My favorite alcohol onboard is a BBC, but only one because they are so filling, and then a Caribbean Lemonade. My last two cruises were chilly so I have added another alcohol drink that I like to call the BucaChino. It's Sambuca in a capachino. It's yummy. Good for the cruises that are not quite tropical....like Alaska and going to and from Hawaii crossing the Pacific. I have to think that going to Canada is going to be cool also. More Bucachinos!!:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

BBC? Caribbean Lemonade?

On our AK cruise I ordered one of the alcoholic coffee drinks in Cove Cafe to get the AK mug and it was really good. Not sure which one it was, but it was one of the ones on the menu. Then another day I went to Diversions to get a drink in the mug and had the bartender come up with a hot chocolate drink which ended up being really good. He just stood there and picked up a bottle and asked if I wanted that in the drink. I honestly don't remember what went in the mug other than hot chocolate. :drinking1 :confused3 :rotfl2: I just had to get 2 mugs since DD wanted one and I wasn't going to let her get a non-alcoholic drink when I could get the alcohol for $2 more. That was the best drink/mug deal.

If you like bananas, you're going to love BBC's. They are a Bailey's Banana Colada. They are like a thick banana milkshake and so delicious, but filling.

A Caribbean Lemonade was the drink of the day one time and it's like a Cosmopolitan with a lemonade twist.....really good. But I'm not sure what's in it.

I love the hot chocolate and something in your mug. That does sound like a good deal. I will have to keep that in mind and try it out on one of our coldish days onboard. It sounds yummy!

It was actually hot chocolate and many somethings. :drinking1
That was the only cruise we've been on that we've seen the mug deal, it was an AK/DCL exclusive mug.

Not a banana drink fan. The lemonade type drink sounds really good.

We have done just about all of the tastings. One day on our Baltic cruise DH amd BIL singed us up for all of them and we had 3 on the same day!
Tequila/Margarita, Rum and Martini are my favorite. DH usually signs me up for the beer with him so he gets twice as much! :rotfl2:

Oh my, the BBC sounds YUMMY! I have got to remember to try this ;)

We decided to book this cruise because my husband will be away for the thrid year in the row and miss our daughter's 6th birthday on August 3rd birthday. He was in Afghanistan last year and training for the deployment the year before, and will be at training this year.

Anywho, he will be back in time for this cruise and he has no training until 9/15 so here we are!

We are three travelers, DH, myself, and DD we booked an Inside GTY and this will be our 4th Disney Cruise. We did the May MED in 2010, XMAS 2010 (both on the Magic) and APR 2012 we were on the Fantasy.
I actually prefer the MAGIC over the Fantasy. Cabanas is better on the new ship but other than that the older ship has the forgive me, the MAGIC and pixiedust:

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

My niece and her husband are in the Army and been trying to coordiante a trip to WDW let alone a cruise. Thank you for the service that your family provides for the freedom of our country. Sue

Good Luck!!! Booking for your aunts on Sunday. I hope you get to add them to your Palo ressies and to your excursions. I don't think you'll have any problems. This is a slow DIS cruise. More for us, I say! haha.

Thanks for the positive thoughts! I was successful! We'll be at Palo Brunch on Saturday at 12:30 and Palo Dinner on Sunday at 7pm. I had to move times around (a bit stressful at midnight!) but it all worked out. I got them added to our excursions as well. We have the Coastal Peggy's Cove and Wild Blueberry Tour booked.

We'll be celebrating my mom's 60th on board, also August 3rd! :wizard::bday:
