Hi All,
Going in July, WDW Vet, 1st time DL, I know dining reservations aren't the same in DL. Planning on just trying to get a res for Blue Bayou, but the rest will be quick service...Other than churros what are some distinctly DL eats that you recommend? Or cool quick service places that probably aren't in WDW.

The majority of the restaurants are different. What type of food do you like at WDW?

Many feel that our churros and corn dogs are better than what is offered at WDW.
The cheesy garlic pretzel bread has a cult following.
Nuttles and churro toffee are also a fan favorites.

Popular restaurants with reservations:
Blue Bayou for ambiance
Lamplight Lounge for ambiance
Cafe Orleans (offers Fantasmic dining package)
Carnation Cafe
Carthay Circle - higher end experience
Napa Rose - higher end experience

Popular quick serve dining experiences
Bengal BBQ
Tiana's Palace
Plaza Inn
Harbour Galley
San Fransokyo - several restaurants
Award Wieners

Since GCH is so close to the parks, many like Craftsman Grill/Bar and Hearthstone.

Generally, Quick Service is better at DLR when it comes to things like burgers or pizza and the like. Some of my favorites are the Bao Buns at the Tropical Hideaway (great for a snack or meal) and the sourdough bread bowls at Aunt Cass Cafe. I'll never say no to a cheese stick from Corn Dog Castle either. I might have included Award Wieners at one time, however without the Filmstrip Fries, I have to ding them on that. DLR needs to sort out this french fry issue!

For sweets, a Matterhorn Macaroon from Jolly Holiday is always a must get, and you can't go wrong with specialty churros either.

Ohh, I'll add Jolly Holiday to my list. While it isn't my favorite, the grilled cheese & soup is a very popular item.

They have really stepped up the offerings at Troubadour Tavern. The baked potatoes (with a variety of toppings depending on the season) are very popular. I think some of the novelty is that they frequently change the menu and people like trying new things.
