Sept 5 2010 "Labor Day Getaway"

Has anybody ever bought the Romantic Encounter package from DCL?

Ginny

I thought they stopped doing the Romantic Escape at Sea package. I'm thinking of the one where each person received a massage, a dinner at Palo and one rosebud turndown service with champagne. I think they stopped it as people were buying it as it entitled you to early reservations at Palo and excursions.

Is there a new package they're offering?

ETA: I just gooled Romantic Encounter for Disney and it came up with two bathrobes, a bottle of champagne, ice bucket and chocolates. Is that what you're referring to?

No -- it's a Spa Villa package. I must have typed the wrong name.... I've been searching all over their site.

I did look at that package though. :)

I had forgotten all about the Spa Villas onboard. I went online this morning to find it. It looks like's it's called the Romantic Getaway, but it can't be prebooked.

After doing some searching around trying to figure out the details, I was hoping someone here can confirm for me. The second and third nights are at the same restaurant in the rotation, with the third night being the Pirates Night, correct? pirate:

I booked Palo for that night and just wanted to make sure that we aren't missing one of the restaurants.

... ever since I told DW about the trip she has been bugging me relentlessly with the questions. :lmao:

Yes, you are correct. We took this same cruise in March. The third night is a repeat of the second night's restaurant, but with the Pirate menu. It's the Castaway Cay night.

This is the same night we booked Palo for as well.

I'm not certain the 2nd and 3rd night will be the exact same restaurant 2 nights in a row for you (or anyone else), but I CAN tell you that by booking Palo on Pirate night you won't be missing any restaurants. There are 3 "regular" restaurants on board (I'm not including Palo), since we are on a 4 night cruise we will all dine in each of them at least once. One of them will be our pirate night restaurant as well which means we will dine in that restaurant twice, however not everyone will be in the same restaurant on Pirate night either, we will be divided amongst the 3 restaurants that night BUT the menu will be the same pirate-themed menu in each restaurant.

So, if you're concerned about missing a restaurant, you won't, the only thing you'll be missing by dining at Palo on Pirate night is the special Pirate night menu in the other restaurants. AP doesn't do it's show on Pirate night so you won't even miss that. :thumbsup2

Could you please repost the names ages and rooms, i am going threw what i have and cant seem to find the original post you put up. Thanks.

Anyone going to WDW after? we are going to extend and I am workign WDWRR on thursday so wanted to say hi.

Mary and I will be at WDW for a couple of days before the cruise and a couple of days after, staying at Saratoga Springs and the Boardwalk.

NvlBrat2 - should we sign up for the Steam Train tour for that Thursday you are working? Will we get to drive the train?:rotfl2:

The updated list is on page 10 post #140. I don't have all the cabin numbers, or all the kids ages, but I've put on everything I know.
We're going to WDW for 10 days after the cruise. We'll be at the Pop Century. I'm really getting excited.:yay:

I was just about to go to bed when I realized I needed to purchase our trip insurance. I normally don't get this but since there are a lot of "what ifs" this trip it is probably worth it to spend a little to save a lot of points. I also haven't been paying attention to booking excursions, dinner, etc. Can anyone remind me what day we will probably be at sea for this trip?

Thanks in advance!

Annmarie

PS - forgot to add we will be staying at BCV before and after the cruise. I'm getting excited for this one!! DS had never cruised & DGF have never been on DCL! I'm really looking forward to this!!

We've always purchased trip insurance from insuremytrip.com Trip insurance can be a good idea. My parents were going to come to Denver this week for a visit. However, he had surgery today from a freak accident and will be in a non weight bearing cast on his left leg for up to eight weeks. Had this been a cruise instead of a trip to see us, they would have lost the entire fare as they found out just hours before they were scheduled to leave.

The sea day will be our final day before debarkation, or Wednesday the 8th. It'll show up if you log in to make reservations for Palo or other excursions.

We'll be next door at BWV before the cruise, but we're heading home right away to watch our son's first high school football game.

Thanks for the information. After I sent my message, I realized I could look on DCL website. One more question . . . does anyone know the dining rotataion? I haven't been paying attention to this cruise too much but need to get into cruise mode again!

If it's like our 4 night in March, you will be in one of three rotations- TAAP, APPT or PTTA with night 3 being the Pirate Menu and the other three the respective rotation menu.

hey everyone, we're getting closer and closer. Still need some cabin numbers: Tina and Patrick, Annmarie and family, rlbren and spouse, Minnie Mom and family. Also need kids ages from Tina and Patrick. If I could get those I can finish the list and get it ready to go. Have a good 4th of July:cheer2:

We are in cabin #5504.

Here's hoping for some nice weather for this weekend! So far it looks good for us, which is quite a switch. Year after year it seems to always be raining and chilly.

Thanks Tom. I've added your cabin number to the list. Almost to July then only August left!!:cheer2:

Feigel037 - I just noticed that you and your family are from Buffalo. Where abouts? My wife Mary and I grew up there. Amherst & Town of Tonawanda.

Any chance you can smuggle a couple of Beef on Wecks onboard for us?

We will not be participating in the fish extender for our first cruise but looking forward to meeting everyone.
9 weeks from tomorrow already.

Thanks,
tmoreno
