Of the four people at DCL, yes, I spoke with 4 including the supervisor, they all mentioned that the "block" that was released today must be full. This was in reference to Flounders though, and if you've read my previous posts, you'll know that this wasn't true. But I got the impression from them that more would be released for the non repeat cruisers and then more once we board, because they all told me to keep trying when the next time came up.

I honestly believe DCL has their hands tied by this booking system, it doesn't seem like the system is equipped to handle all of the variables that exist when prebooking cruise amenities. For those of you who are continuing to have problems, keep calling....you'll eventually find someone who can figure out what your problem is and help you out. :wizard:

I'm sticking to what I told the original supervisor at 9:30am.....I don't think the way they did this was fair. You can't say you can book at 9am only to have a lot of us not be able to book. Then when we call to see what is up, no one has any answers and no one can help us.....all we can do is sit back and watch our friends book their things and happily celebrate until they work out whatever problems they have. OK, I'm officially done ranting, I got what I wanted but I feel really bad for those of you who still haven't!

Sorry to hear so many had problems today - that must be very frustrating esp since you are to receive the advance booking priority.

Ok how do we know what time we dock and leave each day? I cannot seem to locate that information and noticed in Amy's post that we hit Key West at 12 noon - which is exciting as we can enjoy the ship that morning.

Does anyone know anything about the celebration they mentioned in update 3 or 4 happening in Mallory Square? That sounds like fun for sunset - esp since I have heard how beautiful it is.

I too feel badly for anyone who got messes by this 'new' booking system. It obviously has flexibility issues.

Now for those of you that have been around during the day like me, you'd think I've just been sitting on my butt and hanging on the computer.

You would be half right.

But I have been busy here.

Printing for all the buttons currently on the list is done!!

The table and button parts are all set up. Now, all I have to do is cut them out and smash them together with that formidable looking tool in the front.

We should arrive at Key West at 12 noon if they stick to regular routine.

There has been nothing in writing as to what out port itinerary is yet.

It is possible for us to arrive a bit ahead of that and disembark earlier. Or later. Don't consider 12 as written in stone. Last time I think we were early.

I only mentioned noon because that's about when the Western normally arrives in Key West. So, I figured that has to be pretty close to the same, since it's the same trip from Port Canaveral to Key West. I'm sure that the times will be adjusted, but I'm just using noon as a random guess.

Same from our Western. But they really are not going very fast to get there either, they could get in sooner(we hope) or leave later too. Just don't count on past experience totally for the times. I'd hope we get some idea of the port times before we go, but if we don't, we don't.

I would think noon as well since that is what time the Magic gets in. The only way to get there sooner would be to go faster and I don't see them doing that. In December I think we got in about 11:30 so maybe a little earlier.

I had two phone messages on my answering machine when I got home.

The first was from DCL. The very nice cast member told me that they had made a goof up when putting all the times into the system this morning and the brunch I had booked for Wednesday was really on Tuesday. So they transferred my reservation to Tuesday. Although I already knew of the issue, I really appreciated this call as it is very nice of them to call. Of all the problems that have happened today, I want to at least give them Kudos for these phone calls.

The second was from DVC (HUM??? What is this about the Palo mix up too? - No) I put in a request on Thursday for an II trade to Hawaii next summer, they have found one. Woo Hoo - looks like I may be going to Hawaii after all. I call tomorrow to find out what resort. (I significantly limited my search)

For those of you who do not know, I got an II trade to Hawaii this year, but sold it to my boss so that I could take the Member cruise.

Oh and final. I guess good things do come in threes. I did the Southwest search and one of my flights was a $39 flight, so I repriced it and now I have a $180 credit to use toward my flights to Disneyland this Dec..

Hi Again ... one more question ...

Are there any on-ship activities for big kids (8 and 10) which require reservations ? Or do the kids just show up ? I remember an earlier post which referenced a teen activity at CC ... :earboy2:

Thanks again,

-Carol

You're having a great day, Robin!! Sounds awesome that you were able to get a discount on your flights!!! Too bad that we don't have anywhere to go, otherwise we would look into some flights on Southwest.

Oceaneer's Lab is the place. All they do is check in and out, they have all kinds of kid fun activites for kids 8-12. Dreams Unlimited description(click)

I think they get a different navigator too, but not absolutely sure.

I got Palos for dinner on the sea day. I'm having problems getting Brunch now.Oh well I'll keep trying! :confused3

I hope you don't mind turning our focus away from fun for a short time.

If you believe in prayer please take a few moments today and pray for the people of London who have been attacked this morning. Very very sad.

Some idiots once again feel that the only way to solve their own personel problems, or to influence others, is to kill innocent people. It has never worked in the history of the world, and it never will. Pathetic !

Such a very, very sad turn of events this morning. They were all so joyous yesterday with the win of the Olympics in 2012, and now this. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

Reality check here too - we have a few friends who live over there and our prayers go out to everyone over in the London.

EDITED TO ADD: Sorry, guys, posted on wrong thread. Had too many windows opened. Moving to correct thread.

good morning everyone:
First of all, hope that all our friends in London are OK - our prayers go out to each of you for safety.

We did meet with Celeste and Rob (and with their two sons) last night along with Renae and Eric. As Renae said, what a good time we had. Did not get home until midnight. For those of you who have eaten at Whispering Canyons, Rob wanted to order KETCHUP, lbut Celeste wouldn't let him :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

We all ended up wearing different hats made from straws and napkins by the waitress who was one of the best we have ever had at Whispering Canyons. We actually closed the restaurant. Pictures were taken and Celeste will probably post them when she gets home, since I will not be able to from the ship.

Wow, you just made me realize that my DH has a cousin living over in England. She's in the suburbs of London, so I'm sure that she's fine. But, my heart goes out to everyone there.

Oh, how fun!! We LOVE Whispering Canyon!! I haven't taken my DDs since the oldest one was a baby. I'm sure that she would love it now, since she has a crazy sense of humor for an almost 4yr old.

Glad that you had fun, Kay!!
