Good luck Sanddune! And for everyone who is going to celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow - a little something (author unknown) I got in e-mail yesterday.


In honor of Thanksgiving

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving,
But I just couldn't sleep
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned -
The dark meat and white
But I fought the temptation
With all of my might.

Tossing and turning
With anticipation
The thought of a snack
Became infatuation.

So, I raced to the kitchen,
Flung open the door
And gazed at the fridge,
Full of goodies galore.

I gobbled up turkey
And buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots,
Beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling
So plump and so round,
'Til all of a sudden,
I rose off the ground.

I crashed through the ceiling,
Floating into the sky
With a mouthful of pudding
And a handful of pie.

But, I managed to yell
As I soared past the trees....
Happy eating to all -
Pass the cranberries, please.

May your stuffing be tasty,
May your turkey be plump.
May your potatoes 'n gravy
Have nary a lump.

May your yams be delicious
May your pies take the prize,
May your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off of your thighs.

MaryJ, Mom and Dad live in Versailles. Pretty close to you. I hope you are safe tonight with the tornadoes comming thru!
We are going to leave early in the morning now. Michigan started geting sleet around 2PM. We are hoping it will be cleared enought to leave at 5AM.

Yikes!!!! What is going on with this nasty weather. I was stuck in the High School since 8:00 AM this morning and walked outside to heavy, wet snow!!! And it hurts when it hits you. No scraper in the car and no gloves - do you know how cold slush on your car windows is to your bare hands?!?!?!?!?!?!

Now I'm sitting here on pins and needles - my son is driving in from Kalamazoo (WMU) to the Detroit area - thankfully he is smart enough that he is going to stay at my Sisters tonight so at least he cut his drive some. My daughter was leaving Mt. Pleasant (CMU) and decided to turn back and stay at school tonight. What little bit of driving she did took her 1 1/2 hours (should have been 1/2 hour).

I hope that everyone stays safe and warm tonite - it's nasty out there - we lost the power to our lights outside - everything is covered with that slushy ice - glad I'm leaving on the weekend for my road trip to WDW!

Wahhhhhhh I want to go to Florida!!!!!!!! Maybe I can beg & plead with John to go down for a few days in December.

My daughter is back at school and will try to come home in the morning. My son made it to my sisters, only 3 1/2 hours for a 1 3/4 hour trip. Gotta love living here!!! At least him and my nephews decided to cancel their trip to Canada for this evening.

Mary have a safe trip to WDW this weekend.

OH SURE time to go see MICKEY but not Squid and Coleen OH WELL we will try and find time to get to Michigan in Jan! Maybe bring Dale and Karen We got about 5 inches of snow yest and luckily no BIG accidents.

We're back from Boston where we spend Thanksgiving with our DS and family. We had a great surprise, our other DS surprised us by coming from Venezuela!!

Then I come on the boards and I've been reading about the bad weather many of you had. In Boston we were sunny and cold, not bad enough to keep us from enjoying great walks with our DGC and the dogs, Daisy and Emma.

I wish all who have yet to come home safe traveling. Boston, Detroit, and Dayton's airports weren't especially crowded today.

I checked out the photo album and there we are, thank you, it seems much more real now, and I check out the weekly count down too. We're in cabin 2080.

Just got back from our trip.Husbands uncle passed away the day after Thanksgiving. The funeral was today.
I hope the rest of you had a great Thanksgiving!
