Sept 4-8 2005 Wonder S.S. Member Cruise!

I just got from my 1st shift of the job that will be paying for our trip! I got a job delivering Domino's Pizza, and after 3 hrs and just 6 deliveries, I made $27 in tips! Not bad for the 1st night, and I was just "training"! LOL.

Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights for 5 hours should bring in some serious $$$ between now and September! CHA_CHING!

Nobody knows it but we are in. It will be a surprise.
We are me(Noreen), DH Bob,2 DS Liam(10) TJ (9) at cruise time and DDMairead(7) at cruise time. I will have just turned 40 on Aug. 25, so we will celebrate then.

I am not sure what our travel plans will be. We will probably fly. I would like to come down early though-I don't want to miss the boat!!! A night before meet is a good idea.

Wouldn't there be a DCL bus coming from the resorts anyway?

Mark and Mary-You are awesome! Does the DVC know that you help add to the magic!(Actually all of you DISers add to the magic)

hi Noreen! We are surprising the kids also. I figure, we always tell them when we go to WDW, and I get jealous when i hear someone is surprising their kids. So, I vowed that our next trip would be a surprise, it happens to be this cruise. They are going to FREAK.

I figure we will keep it a surprise until we are actually in the car driving. Tell them in the car we are going to Disney. Then NOT tell them where we are going the next day when we leave Disney to drive to the port. When they see the ship from the highway, oh man...I am getting excited just picturing their reaction!

(they think the next time we go on DCL is when they are teenagers! LOL..that is what I tell them when they ask when we are going again!)

Myself (Crystal) Dh (David) and 2 DS's Chadwyck 8 and Chaseton 6 at time of cruise.

Good idea about surprising the kids! I am going to try to keep it a secret. This will be our first time cruising.

We will be in great company as we are Cat. 9 Deck 2 port also!!

We will most likely fly in and stay onsite before and after the cruise.

We had a great crew at MH and it was Wonderful meeting everyone! Cant wait to see Y'all again! LOL

I will be traveling with my DH, DS (will be 8 and half)and my daughter will be 4 and a half. With probably so little kids how do the clubs operate.

I hope the same as always. My kids would be bummed if not. Although this is our first cruise, they have heard from friends about the kids activities. Does anyone know from the last cruise?

I remember reading the ratio was more adults than kids last cruise.

Maybe we can see how many DIS kids we'll have -- we will have our 2 sons

I'll have Emma (2 at time of cruise) and Julia (11 months at time of cruise)!

Yes, I know I'm crazy--right now I have a 13 month old and a 3 week old!! Can you tell how badly I need this cruise?

The best way to tell you about the adult to kid ratio on the last cruise is by the picture taken on Castaway Cay.

The adults are in blue - the kids are in yellow.

What it meant was the clubs weren't as crowded. I think the kids still had the same great time (if not better) than if they had been on a regular cruise.

It does look like this Member Cruise will have more kids which I'm sure will make it even better for those of you with kids.

I encourge those of you with kids old enough to read e-mail to start getting them to be penpals with other kids their age. We have this on our 10 day cruise and it has been fantastic. The teens even started their own thread.

I hope to be working on a photo gallery page soon so that we can all see each other and get to know each other

Hi fellow DVC members! I just posted on any advice about the cabin we got 1062..kind of nervous about being on deck 1 but wanted to go on this cruise so bad it was the last one left so we took it..missed the 1st one and was not going to miss this one..I started calling at 9am couldn't get thru and were going to a place which did not allow cell phones on..tried a few times and finally got thru at 1:30 jumped under the desk (we were at Foxwoods Ct in a BIG (4000 PEOPLE) BINGO HALL) WAS ON THE PHONE FOR 1/2 HR ALL CATS SOLD OUT but room 1062 cat 9 was open so I grabbed it. we have salied 3 x before on the Magic in a veranda decks 6 & 7..please reassure me that we will be fine! can't wait to meet all you guys! just hubby & myself. our kids wanted us to go on the april sailing with them but we chose to go on this one instead..TELL ME I DID THE RIGHT THING. Just got off the phone with MS. We'll be at BWV 9/3-4 and 9/8-10. So, all that is left now is to figure out how DH and I are getting to FL and Port Canaveral. I just love planning our Disney getaways-- and this one is less than a year away!!!

You can add myself (Rick) and DW Katie to the list. Called MS this AM and snagged a Boardwalk view room for 9/8 through 9/12. Used miles to get a couple airline tickets. All that's left is where to stay on 9/3 and do I get a car or use DCL/limo for transportation.

Called Member MS this morning and made a reservation for the Polly with DVC points, for 9/8-10. We have stayed there once before, just one night about 5 years ago when I was doing some training in the Orlando area. We are branching out with our points staying at some of the different resorts for these short stays. Should be fun. Still OKW was our first and perennial favorite.

With that done we are all set, car and lodging before and after. Flights booked and insurance bought. Now all we have to do is wait, but prior planned trips will make it go by fast, I hope.

I cannot believe how excited I am! Still, 2 days after making the reservations! I am walking on clouds! My house is cleaner than it has ever been! ( I have to work off this excitement)

Have I told you all how excited I am BTW?

See, we took the kids on their 1st DCL vacation back in April, we were excited, but the kids had never cruised before, so we did not know if they were going to like it as much as WDW. To say they loved it would be an UNDERSTATEMENT! I have never seen my kids in oblivion like they were on the cruise! They ask almost every single day when we are going back on the Mickey Ship. It is torture keeping this from them, but if I can hold out, their reaction will be PRICELESS.

I just keep remembering the pure joy they had in April, and I can't stand the anticipation!

Not sure what we're going to do now. Dh checked the OSU Buckeye Football schedule and there is a home game the day before the cruise and the Saturday after the cruise. He's going to have to miss one of those for sure!! We may do WDW BEFORE the cruise. Hmmmm.

Booked BWV for Sept 2-4 and 8-11th.

Not sure how we will get to the port, but I want to arrive early so my choices may be limited.

We may rent a car, but I have to look into it.

We're looking at Boardwalk for the night before the cruise and at least one night after the cruise.
