Sept 4-8 2005 Wonder S.S. Member Cruise!

Received confirmations of room ressies before and after the cruise a week or so ago. Received confirmation of cruise yesterday.

Haven't received any confirmation regarding the Member's cruise, we booked POR via internet for the night before, so that's in hand.

Maybe today will be the day!

My official DVC confirmation letter arrived today and it does list Key West - so now at least I know "I'm good to go"! See ya on the ship!!!

Me too! Our confirmation came today and it says Key West!

We have 3 cruises booked, 2 DCL and 1 Carnival, all in less than a year's time!

Hi all!
I'm so excited to have reservations on the DVC Cruise!! We cruised 2x in 2003 (a 3-day and a 4-day). On Dec. 11th we are going on our first 7-day. All of our cruises have been with my sister and her family who are not DVC members. They won't be joining us next sept. so it will be a chance to meet new people.
We've been DVC members for 3 years now and Disney fanatics long before that.
I have a dh (of course) 42yrs
ds will be 9 at cruise time
dd will be 6 at cruise time.

We got our confirmation letter last week. Who else is traveling without friends?

Is everyone getting the travel insurance? Why would it be necesary--hurricanes, etc.?

What excursions is anyone interested in at Key West?

Got our doc's today..have to call about the insurance as we are going to get it this time because of the season..HURRICANE I mean..! 299 days to go..yea Marianne

We got our letter finally! Whew! All seems as it was explained via phone.

jhorner, we will be traveling without knowing anyone. I expect that will change as soon as we get aboard! We will get to know a bit about those that post here and the other members cruise proved that people are really friendly!

I sitll wish that I would get the information I am still waiting on for January. I am hoping I will each day I run to the mailbox.

No one will be traveling without friends - you know why? Because by the time we all cruise together we'll all be friends.

Yes it appears that a bunch of us know each other but we really didn't until we cruised together on the 2003 Member Cruise. Then we met more friends when we went to Member Homecoming earlier this year.

So there are just friends you haven't met yet!

That's why this thread will be so great. We just keep posting and get to know each other. That's what is happening on our 10 day cruise thread. When we all booked in July 2003 none of us knew each other. We are closing in on 15,000 posts and have developed real friendships!

That right we met John and Gail on a cruise. They are great fun to be around. We even spent a weekend in Mi. just to visit with them!

We will know all sorts of stuff about each other by the time we go!

I feel I will be traveling with "friends", but I haven't actually met any of the DVCers who will be on the cruise. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone.

Each Member event we go to we meet more people and everyone has been so nice.

On the first Member Cruise we met a nice couple at dinner, they were our table mates. After dinner one night we went to 80's night with them and then on to a movie. Three different times we ran into some of the Diser's we had met at the Radisson and at the Port. We would stop for a minute and talk about things we had done and then we would be on our way. At the end of the evening this couple said to us "OK, we give, are you two some celebrities that we should know or are you always that friendly with all strangers?" We then explained that we had met a bunch of people on the Dis Boards and then had a couple of meets at the hotel and on the ship. They thought it was cool that we had "friends" traveling with us. Then there was our next cruise 6 months later where we met Steve, his DW and friends of their's. We had a great time and still stay in contact with each other.

For those of you going for the first Member Event or 2nd or 3rd, I highly recommend keeping track of this thread and going to the meets that Mark & Mary will plan - you really do meet some nice people - we sure have

We went to the member update yesterday at SSR, nothing really new. I was very surprised that there was no mention about the Past member events, ot this up comming cruise.

We received our confirmation from MS, but when do we get the "real" paperwork???

I thought that the "real" paperwork, like cruise docs, don't come until 60 days out from the actual cruise. Can anyone confirm?

Actually closer to 30 days before.

We are sailing on the 10 day cruise on 12/18 and we haven't got those docs yet (and I'm not worried).
