I had to take my litho back to Michael's. One of the pins was a little crooked and once I seen that I knew it would bug me forever. While I was there we also noticed a smudge on the glass that was on the inside, so they are recleaning the glass and straightening the pin. I've been the queen of redo's lately. My new car I got in August had to have the battery replaced and it has been completely repainted. :earseek:

Glad you love your crocs Cindy. I ended up wearing mine for the whole cruise and while at Disney. Oh, I forgot to mention, I noticed you wearing yours in the water at CC - I would have never thought of that, but I will remember for our December cruise.

I use to love shopping on Black Friday! Unfortunately for the past 5-6 years I haven't been able to. I am the promoter for a very large Art & Craft show and the show dates are Saturday & Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. The crafters come in on Friday and set up their booths - so I have to be there all three days. I guess I could do the 4 am thing like Amy - but I'm not sure how I'd make it through the rest of the day! :goodvibes

That's because I can't stand to stand in the ocean without something on my feet. It just grosses me out. :earseek:

The crocs worked great. The only problem was the sand getting inside. Lots of sand started to irritate my toes.

Gail, sleep isn't all that it's cracked up to be. :teeth:

Cindy I'm so glad you are learning to love your crocs. I've worn my nonstop since i got them in May. I have 3 pairs, 2 beach and 1 niles. I'm going to have to retire my pink Niles for winter though, but I plan on wearing the beaches with socks. Have you seen the boots that they have? They are WAY cool! I was watching America's top Model on VH1 this weekend  and one of the girls had crocs on too!

That is so sweet of you to share the DVC love in giving your litho to your friend. I can't wait to get mine framed and hanging on my wall.

If I was younger, I wouldn't care about the sleep, this getting old stuff is not a lot of fun :teeth: But dealing all day with some of the crafters and then at 5 PM we get to do the walk through with the Fire Marshall wouldn't work too well if I was tired, crabby and cranky. It's best that I am on my best behavior that day :cheer2:

Up here we have tornados but they don't keep appearing and hitting the same area over and over again.

That is, unless you live in Xenia, Ohio! ;)

If it didn't take up so much blasted time, I'd be fine getting more of it! :)

I have got to get to a craft show this year. My dad used to have booths in them (he makes wooden things---furniture, kids stuff, my cross stitch frame) and I used to go all the time to his. In fact, I used to sit and cross stitch for 8-12 hours at a time at his shows b/c when someone is actually WORKING on the frame, it's amazing how many ppl buy them!! But now that dad is getting older and mom is bugging him to work more around the house, he doesn't do them anymore....so I don't go.

With the rehearsal schedule that came out yesterday it'll be fun to try to even FIND a show I can make it to!!

When I was a kid I remember there was a tornado that pretty much destroyed Xenia. I still have memories of the news reports. For some reason that one stuck in my mind.

April of '73 maybe? Mike lived about 30 minutes away from there and they found personal items in their yard from ppl in Xenia! He remembers seeing things that had shot through tree trunks. And, of course, they went to Xenia and gawked to see the damage.

And it still seems like Xenia gets the worst weather of anyone around here. Always the tornados touching down and the most severe storms. They must be in some sort of gulley or something. I know the feds have a program in Xenia where residents can buy tornado shelters at a much reduced cost!

That time frame sounds about right, that would make me about 14 at the time. I know there are many tornados across the midwest but that one somehow left a big impression on me. Not sure why :confused3

I was wrong, it was April '74...

you remember it for a few reasons....because it was HUGE for one thing! (an F5) And the destruction was phenomenal! And it was part of the superoutbreak of tornados...

The April 3-4, 1974 SUPEROUTBREAK, produced 148 tornadoes within a 24 hour period. This is the largest number on record. During the height of activity, 15 tornadoes were on the ground simultameously. 315 persons were killed, 5484 were injured within the 13 states and Canada in which tornadoes occurred. With a total 2598 miles the tornadoes traveled.

Here's a picture from www.xeniatornado.com Lots more there if you're interested. :)

Wow! I listened to the recording that is on that site of the actual tornado - that was a very long 4 minutes - can't imagine the people going through it!

Hi everyone - I'm back home in chilly Michigan for a week or so then hit the road again. :moped:

I very well remember that year of tornadoes because that was my first few weeks of living here in Michigan and I was terrified of what kind of place my dh took me to live - I thought tornadoes were only in "The Wizard of Oz"!!!

It's downright chilly here this morning - I was enjoying the 80s yesterday in NC and was at the beach a few days before that in Delaware! :moped:

Just wanted to pop in and say hello - I now return you to your regular programming. :wave2:

Well, we're still watching Wilma here!!! They keep telling us that we're in the "cone of uncertainty", so we just have to watch, wait and be prepared. However, I really need to clean out my garage, so I really could have used a weekend of no rain.

Chris is thinking more and more about taking this job in Orlando. He just feels that he is getting the "shaft" at his current company here in St. Pete. He's been there for almost 4 years, and he just doesn't think that he's getting paid what he should. So, we might be heading to Orlando again this weekend, depending on the weather.

Does anyone shop Black Friday?

I've started getting the sale ads. I'm not sure I can post the link here but I'd be happy to share. They usually are pretty close to what's put out in the Thanksgiving Day newspaper flyers.

Just let me know if you'd like me to send it to you.

Cindy,
I shop the ads! Could you post the link or send it to me?

Farm and Fleets big toy sale starts Saturday at 7am. I'm going with a few friends. People line up outside before the store even opens. Can't beat their great toy prices.

My thoughts are with all of you in the path of Wilma. It has been a crazy year. I hope that everyone stays safe!

OMG - I remember Farm & Fleet. We used to go to the one in Woodstock when I was a kid.

*****UPDATE ON THE DVD/CDs*****

We're still waiting on Lisa & Linda's CDs. As soon as they arrive, Chris can put them together with the rest of the pictures and I'm betting we can get the DVDs/CDs done within a couple of days.

Too funny! Usually people have no idea what a Farm & Fleet is. Then they think I live in the middle of no where. We actually have a newer F&F near our house. It is nice to have for the toy sale.
