Hey guys -

An update on electric cars in Key West

Chris talked to a few of them on KW, and one of them is willing to give us a 20% discount for multiple cars. They are pretty sure that they can accomodate all of us, but if not, there is another one on the island that said that they can take the overflow and they would offer a 10% discount (but they are already cheaper).

Diana - The main one that Chris talked to does have 4 carseats. So, that would work perfectly for us. 2 for you, 2 for us. Let me know if you're interested.

Also, the cost for the main one that Chris is talking to for 4 hours is $89/2-seater and $129/4-seater. That is before the 20% discount.

We have to call them again a few days before we arrive to confirm how many are needed. So, to those that are still interested, please let me know.

This is who I have on my list right now:

chipscinderelly – Matt/Julie – 2-seater
WDWLVR – Mark/Mary & John/Gail – 4-seater
Bompy213 – Stephanie – 2-seater
sanddune – Chris – 4-seater
Bonzie1 – Georgie – 4-seater
cherylp3 – Cheryl – 2-seater
HookdonWDW – Lisa – 2 cars (not sure if 2 4-seaters or one of each)
seaulater – Linda – 4-seater
cgcw – Cindy – 4-seater
figment795 – Annette – 2-seater
goofy4dvc – Mona – 2-seater
Tiger Lily 03 – Lily – 2-seater
mrsdon – Debbie – 4-seater

Yes--we are still planning on it!

Thanks for taking care of this!

Linda

Ok, here's something....

A homeschooling family I know is a finalist being considered for Wife Swap. Now, if you have a sterotyped image of homeschoolers, this family probably matches exactly what you're thinking.....ultra conservative, denim jumpers, kids hanging on their hips, growing ALL of their own food, etc (of course, being a homeschooler, I can say I DO NOT fit that stereotype!) They are doing it for the "sizable compensation" that they'd get....they need a new car. Anyway....

That brings up the questions....

Would you EVER do a reality TV show?
If so, which one?
How do you think you'd "play" it...i.e. what would your strategy be?

and, while I've got you, please could someone tell me what GTKYKFC means? (I think those are the letters...something about getting to know you kentucky fried chicken??)

The Amazing Race.............

however DH and I aren't divorced yet..........but that would probably do us in!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

They are just going to reserve the number of cars that we need.

Amy, put us down for 2... we're looking for 2 four seaters.

Thanks!

Lisa

Here's another tie-in to the first day at Disneyland. Fess Parker! I would love it if he was onboard. Plus they already sell his wine on board so I could see that tie in working well. Think of how many more bottles they would sell if he was on board.

Reality TV - I love Survivor, Big Brother (go JAMES) and Amazing Race (the adult teams) - but would NEVER go on one of the shows. First of all I'd die on Survivor due to the bugs and foliage as I am allergic to the world and second - I'd cry on national TV when someone picked on me.
Ooohhh, I'd go on Amazing Race in an instant, if I was in better shape. Chris and I would complement each other well. I'm good with directions, and he is a great driver. Plus, we would both love to do and see some of the exciting things that they do.

Yeah, you know, that grass is always greener on the other side of the road. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Okay, this is the one show I most definitely would NOT be on. I don't see the allure in doing half of the things they do for the "possibility" of winning $50,000.00. If you want me to eat pureed maggots, you better bring out the big bucks!

Okay, confession time for me. Fear factor is the only reality tv show I've ever seen (unless you count Super Nanny in there :rotfl2: .)

In the spirit of getting to know each other and trying to get to 10,000 posts, here is a question for all of you...

If you won $1,000,000.00 what would you do with it? Rules are:

  1. You have to spend the entire amount
  2. You can't put the money into savings or a non-material investment
  3. You must spend at least $250,000.00 on yourself/your household (can't be for kids college etc...)
Ok, I would definitely buy more DVC points and go on a DCL cruise in the Walt Suite. I would set up both my mom and MIL up in houses, since they are both not financially secure. I would make sure the girls had some money for college.

Forgot to answer my own question! :rolleyes1

I'd pay off our debts and buy a house in New England for when we retire.

I'd make a donation to our church building fund and Sam's school.

I'd pay off my mil's house, and set my dad up in a retirement community.

I'd put some $$$ in a trust for each of the kids.

I'd buy some more DVC points.

I'd treat my friends to a trip to Egypt.

DF and I are a DEFINITE! But, can we switch it to a 4-seater... 20% off is fantastic and it gives us more room.   I was one of the ones who probably bugged you too much about electric car updates, sorry.

I'm sooooooo excited. Practically everyone in Celebration had one and I couldn't help but stare at them :earseek: (I'll post an update from my trip soon).

THANK YOU AMY!!!!

P.S. Do they bring the cars to the dock...if not, where do we go to get them? Did I say I was psyched about this?!?!?!?!? :Pinkbounc

Mission for the cruise... bring Cindy over to the dark side of reality television :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Reality TV is one of the biggest reasons I love Tivo. I get to watch the interesting stuff, and skip all of the boring recaps and commercials. :teeth:

No problem!! They will actually shuttle the drivers to the location to pick up the cars. Maybe what we can do is send off all the drivers first, then the rest of us can hang out on the ship for an extra few minutes. Then, we'll be ready to be picked up at the port by our drivers.

MY FAVORITE DCL wine! In fact, on the 10 day we got the wine plan and at least 1/3 of our bottles were Fess. Then my mom and dad bought an additional 8 bottles of it and gave us some and gave some as gifts. Of course, THEN we found out you can get it off the ship (we were originally told it was a WDW/DL/DCL exclusive).....$38 on the ship, $16 at Giant Eagle!

Here's another person who cannot STAND watching TV without Tivo!!!

Did you know a football game is really only about 1 hour....not the THREE AND A HALF they air it for?? If you go snap to snap, it goes much quicker!
