I'm glad you guys slowed down or I'd never be able to catch up!

We stopped at Walmart where my sister picked out 2 pairs of blinkies for herself. I guess I am now "cool" because blinkies were really cool to her. Not bad for the old lady I think I am.

Now I have to climb in the attic (YUCK) and dig out my Mickey Santa hats. I can't possible tell DH what I'm looking for because he'll have me institutionalized for sure! :rotfl: I think the girls would look great in them on the beach in our Christmas cards!!

Oh and Fred--I got home from Walmart to find a Wild Turkey on my front porch. When I freaked he flew up on my roof!!!!! :faint: I think he came from your house!!!
Ahhh, so you're another one that's gonna be a goof-ball and take your children's picture in the middle of Sept in Santa hats on the beach. Good thing that we don't all have mutual friends, otherwise they will wonder when they get all the same cards.

She's wanted a maine coon since.

Do you need more pictures. I can get them. :) Poor little thing is DEFINITELY lost. I went out to take a picture of the other cat and he was all over me.

Three things that I have enjoyed since booking the cruise and being on the Dis.

1) The welcome I received even though i joined in late.
2) The funny discussions and I bought BLINKES!!!!!
3) Marys tip of the day

Gosh.. I just read GTKYFC and theres another question all ready.
If I could change one thing about my life, I think it would be the way I broke up with one of my boyfriends.
I bascially gave him no warning and then I was engaged to another guy.
The guy turned out to be DH and we celebrating our 24th on Sept 12. so it turned out OK for us,,
But I wasnt very nice.

A fluffy question answer..
My dream job at Disney used to be the baloon girl at the enterance to the MK.
I wanted to be one of the 1st people thye saw and one of the last peolple they saw.
Now that Im MUCH OLDER I would love to work in the Emporium gift shop.

I went to Wal-Mart today and gave into peer pressure. For 3 bucks, I too bought a pair of blinkies! Now I'm a Croc and blinkie wearing DISer!

Company coming for dinner tonight, so have to get stuff ready. There will probably be at least 10 pages for me to catch up on when I get back to these boards!

FYI:

For those of you still trying to figure out what to do after the Bon Voyage party, Typhoon Lagoon will be having EMH on 9/3 from 7 - 10.

OMG - it got quiet again!! Everyone must be having dinner. I know that we just finished.

Happy Anniversary Lisa!!
Your story sounds like miine.
I've known him since we were 15.
We've been married almost 24.
Its hard to remember a time when he wasnt part of my life.

Does this mean I won't find one in my mail box from both of you come December? :(

We had a bad school day here, so we had to go get a dose of sunshine from the local ice cream parlor. Sam was going through the "new kid in school blues" today. He went from having lots of friends and being pretty popular in his old school, to only having made a couple of friends (he's only been in school 2 weeks).

He was doing great last week. I think part of the problem is that his birthday is this Friday, and he doesn't know enough kids to really have a party. Last year he had a huge "Survivor" blowout birthday party (partly because we knew it was the last year he'd be with his buddies).

We talked it over, and came up with a couple of guys he can invite to go to a movie and grab pizza on Saturday. He doesn't know it, but we're going to do a couple of special things on the cruise. We're celebrating his birthday and his cousin's birthday on the cruise, since their birthdays are one week before and one week after respectively.

He seems to be back to his old self now, and he's knocking out his homework. ::sigh:: This is the part of military life I dislike the most...

I'm sorry it's been tough on Sam. I know my heart would be breaking for Cameron. Sometimes its so hard being a Mom. for you and Sam.

If it's any consolation, Sam will be able to celebrate with his new friends in just 13 days! :cheer2:

You will if you want to be added to the Rodgers Family Christmas card list.

If we are all going to have the same Christmas cards, we have to all send them to each other! I can't wait to see all these Mickey Santa eared kids on the beach!

No dinner for us yet. Gary's still working on it. Cameron's back to school favorite tonight -- spaghetti. :cool1:

My daycare kids just left about 15 minutes ago. It's definately been a Monday here today. The one who gives me the most problems is the oldest in my care (and I don't mean Walker ;) ). I would think by almost 6 he would be able to be a pretty good example for the younger kids. But, today he was the time-out King. It's been a long day and I hope tomorrow is better. I think it's time for a vacation.....

I have to apologize to Mary. I misplaced the list of GTKYFC she posted. I know I saved it someplace, I just don't have a clue where. :confused3 It will probably show up in my cruise documents about 3 weeks after we're back.

Amy's question of dream job at WDW, I would love to be a tour guide for the VIP's visiting. Not because of the chance to meet whoever it was, but because I'm sure these people are shuffled here and there through the backstage area. I think it would be rather neat to not only show them the World, but also hustle them through the most unseen areas.

If that didn't pan out, I'd want to drive the monorail. I'd be more than willing and happy to talk with the families who rode in the front car with me. We are the family who will wait to ride in the front, just for fun. More times than not we get a driver who personality is a 1 on a scale of 10. Sharing the magic should be fun and exciting for the drivers just as the guests sitting there are experiencing it. I would sprinkle a little pixie dust on my guest so they walked away in awe.

What would I like to do at WDW - definately something with DVC. Like manning one of the desks in the resorts and being there to answer people's questions.

Or better yet be part of the Marketing team that gets to plan these great events!

Okay, Mary bailed me out. These should keep it hopping here for a while. Here are some new GTKYFC questions ---

(btw, what is GTKYFC....getting to know you...???)
1. Favorite pig out food: ice cream with Tang

2. Nickname: Gunka (as a small child it's how I pronounced my own name..."Karen")

3. Favorite Childhood memory: touring Kellogs in Battle Creek, MI

4. Personal heroes: My parents, my MIL (yes, believe it or not!) and, the best, my dh!!

5. I've never been able to: spit very far

6. If I could do it over, I'd: do it over. ;)

7. I'd give anything to meet (& why): I'd never really "give anything" but I guess it'd be exciting to meet my grandfather--he died before I was born and in order to raise my dad he must have been one crazy character!

8. If I could change one thing about myself: I'd increase my metabolism! :)

9. People who knew me in High School thought I was: ugly. seriously! :)

10. My most irrational act: I bought a dog.

11. If I've learned one thing in life it's: you cannot FORCE a child to eat anything...it is definitely a battle that you will lose.

12. Major accomplishment: my kids

13. The three words that best describe me: dependable, funny, self-sacrificing

The questions I gave Cindy are from a team building exercise I did with my team a couple of years ago. Everyone filled it out and then we picked the funniest answer to each question. Everyone then had to guess who said it. We then shared all our answers.
