Trying to think of something different to surprise my wife this trip. It's out 30th and I have done the Romance Package in the past, I was not impressed with it. Any suggestions??? :cool1: :love1:

There are some really nice gifts in the small brochure that came with out documents. Mark suprised me in May '03 with the ship etched in lead crystal. The pearls look beautiful as well.

What about ordering her a nice gift basket

DCL has a Mickey pearl necklace. My parents got that for my birthday on the 10 day.

I wasn't gone THAT long and you guys filled 4 pages for me to catch up on!!

OK-- The whole Amish thing.... :rotfl2: You guys are killing me here!!

Chuck E Cheese Rocks! Cindy, 9am would be WAY too early for me! We got there for 10:15 totally empty, just us and a day care place about 8 kids. We had the place to ourselves until 12:15 when Emma couldn't handle any more stimulation. Emma ran after Chuck for like 15 minutes scream....HI CHUCKY HI CHUCKY!! Poor guy in the suit probably needed a konk kooler after my kid was done with him! Everyone (including my sister) is now out cold! Oh yea, thinking she was going to help me with the girls-- :rotfl2: I have 3 kids now, not 2! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Here's a funny about Emily and Chuck. Now, she LOVES Mickey, but when she saw Chuck, she wanted nothing to do with him. I asked her several times if she wanted to go say HI, and she just clung to my leg until Chuck left.

It has been 303 days since we were all calling Member Services to book this cruise. In honor of those 303 days what 3 things have you most enjoyed about this meets thread?

Ok here's mine. While I think Mary (iluvdisney) said it best with Everything you know I'm more verbose than that. :)

1) Getting to know such a great group of people. (see below for more details).

2) Having fun with the silly things like blinkies, Office Max folders, etc.

3) Definately finding out how much many of us have in common and that includes all those little Twilight Zone moments.

To expand on #1. Mark and I have been blessed with meeting lots of great DIS'ers over the years. The first Member Cruise was great fun. Member Homecoming was a blast as well. When we joined the cruise meets thread for the 10 day we never expected it to get as big as it did. We had 24,000 posts on sailing day and I believe that post holds the record on the cruise meets board. But the number of posts were nothing compared to the number of friendships we made. Joining this thread we were very happy because we already knew some of you from cruising with you before (either on the first Member Cruise or on the 10 day). We've had great fun continuing those friendships and even more fun making new ones. It has been great to see the regulars on this thread sharing and helping each other so much. The response to the buttons and mini-navigators has been fantastic and I think we will represent the DIS well on the Member Cruise.

Two weeks from today we'll be enjoying Key West. Three weeks from today and I'll be back at work. I say that not to make anyone sad but rather to point out that just because we won't be together sailing in 3 weeks doesn't mean the fun has to end. For example the 10 day thread is now over 26,000 posts - yes 2000 posts were added after we came home! Many of you will be sailing next September together and that is great. I hope Mark and I get the chance to sail with you again as well!

How about 30 small gifts to represent the 30 yrs you have been married?

I don't know whether to say "insert twilight zone music here" or "great minds think alike" ;)

A little bit of both! Isn't that what Virgil got Frances for her birthday on the 10 day cruise? Anyway you can't go wrong with jewelry!

That's a cool idea. It might take some work, but she would probably think it was really, really cool!!!

1. buy her more points
2. book another cruise

That's what *I'd* want for MY anniversary! ;)

I like your idea better :teeth:

The Mickey pearl necklace is beautiful! We bought that for my sister for her 50th birthday.

Gee, go outside with the kids for a while and pages and pages to read! At this rate, we'll definately make 9000!

Wow, someone snatched THAT up! :) 23 minutes later it was sold with buy it now!

But did you see who the buyer was???

I don't know, but if she has any sense of humor at all, she would probably crack up at how much she is a part of this thread. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

ROFL... hmmm... barter may work, lol :rotfl2:

Thank you for all of the Anniversary wishes. I can't believe that we've been married for 18 years... especially since I was only 16 when we started dating! We've been together for a total of 23 years.

An idea for the 30 years... write your wife 30 notes, talking about 30 different events that have happened during your relationship. They can be funny, happy or sad... then have them delivered during the cruise. Something like have the sommlier bring a bottle of wine/champagne to dinner, and hand her a note card that reminisces about the first bottle of wine/champagne you shared together... order continental breakfast, and write about sharing breakfast in bed. You could hide notes in luggage, and make it creative and fun. I wrote 100's of notes for dh once when he was deployed and he said he loved finding them weeks later as he was going through his regular routine...

Just caught up (I seem to be perpetually behind the power curve!) and saw the idea of the 30 gifts. GMTA! Same idea, different twist. ;)

I remember senior year in college, Mike was going to Russia for a couple of weeks. I wrote him a dated note for each day he'd be gone (starting with "on the plane out of Columbus") He loved the excitement of opening them each day.

They were a bit hard to write in the future though....Before he ever left I was writing things like "I can't believe you're heading home today!" He had no idea he was getting them until I presented the whole pack to him the day he was leaving. :)

Now that I think about it....JUST before he left for that trip is when we went to a TA and planned a post-graduation Disney trip. Our first together (his first time ever) We were so distraught to be away from each other that we had to have that trip to look forward to.

Gee, not much has changed....we always try to have a trip to look forward to in order to temper the disapointment of the one that's ending! :)

Happy Anniversary, Lisa & Damon!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Many, many more years to come. :cool1: :cool1:

Just what does he know about us? Has he ever read here? :rotfl2:
