Or i could just take a vacation from the thread and not post until we get back.

You can't stop posting! We love the tips! (Unless Mark will post them for you!) I pass them along to my mom and she also really enjoys them. :teeth:

Do you think it is possible to anticipate too much about something (like this cruise) that the reality is a let-down?

I know that for us first timers we have really no idea what to expect. I have been reading these threads and I read the passporter but I still don't know what to expect. I know we are going to have a great time. My dh keeps asking what we are going to do all day and if he is going to have to sit at the pool with me. I told him there will be alot of things to do. I think he is starting to wonder if he will be bored. Silly man. :rotfl2:

No one should stop posting!

Ok when's the last tip going to be posted just so I know when to hit print on my document - I've saved them all!

Oh can someone remind me again (yeah I'm slow) how to find out who the top posters are on the thread?

Go to the Cruise Meets board, find our thread and click on the number of posts to the right. It will bring up a box with everyone's number of posts.

A somewhat serious question inspired by Cindy getting her documents and being a bit under whelmed by them.

Do you think it is possible to anticipate too much about something (like this cruise) that the reality is a let-down?

YES! Especially with the whole DIS board community. I have seen many people post about their trip not being magical because they didn't get "this" or "that" and they expected to since someone else posted earlier that they had received "this" and "that". Sometimes too much info isn't good for everyone. We booked the Member's Cruise for the cruise and the chance to meet other DVC members. Anything over and above that is a bonus! The first Member's Cruise was very exciting since it was our first cruise and we didn't have any expectations other than food, food, food, going to Nassau and CC. All the other things - items left in the room each night and the special shows were added bonuses that helped make the trip much more special.

I think after the first Member Cruise and all the talk about it, the Member Homecoming might have been a let down to some that were expecting it to exceed what was done on the cruise. I enjoyed both and intend to enjoy this Member's Cruise just as much, probably even more since we will have many more friends traveling with us.

Well back to catching up
Oh yeah we got our docs the day I left fo rSC Hubby called to let me know they were here.

Finally caught up!!! There were many, many Twilight Zone moments throught the posts I read.

Ok, so if wanted to profile those of us DVCer on this cruise I would say we are:

loyal, caring, patient, kind.

If we didn't finish college, we would like to. We never should have gotten married so young, but it worked out in the end.

We are proud of our children.

We wish were a little thinner or taller.

We have a collection of Disney items that can and will fill a suitcase!

Many of us would like to livein Fla and work for Disney.

It is difficult to choose 1 movie.

We are romantics(little notes, gifts, to loved ones).

We know how to appreciate each day of our lives!!

So that is why we will not be disappointed on our cruise.

I look forward to meeting all of you, but I feel I already know you! :grouphug:

RE: Turkeys and where I live:

I live 20 minutes North of New York City-Manhattan.

We have skunks, racoons, turkeys, chipmunks, occasional deer, rabbits, ground hogs(I think-some big things that live under the shed), and I have seen a possum the road.
Of course, we have very intelligent squirrels. In the past 4 years a squirrel has broken into my house by cutting through the screens. I don't mind all of the wild life as long as they stay OUTSIDE!
So us "just out side of the city folks" have a bit of country wildlife! :paw: Who knew? :confused3

Here is the weather forcast for Monday in Key West

Partly sunny and humid. Winds from the NNE at 4 mph. High: 90° F RealFeel: 106° F
Monday Night: Partly cloudy and humid. Winds from the N at 3 mph. Low: 81° F RealFeel: 89° F

I think if it really feels like 106 that I need to find a barstool in the air cond. to stay on all day. :rotfl2:

Today I am having a Surprise BD party for DS, TJ who is 9.

He asked me the other day if he could have a party. I told him"We'll see". When it was all already planned! Meanwhile I have to figure out how to get me there without him and then get him to the Laser Tag place! So what am I doing here?

I just had to read and catch up.

Speaking of DS, he was just in here lurking and asking-
"What is That? Oh!it's jumping and dancing!" He was looking at one of Cindy's posts and Mrs. Lips! :rotfl2:

Did I read "shy" there? :confused3

rofl... see, just when you think you know someone! ;) I've always had jobs where I've worked with people (my degree is in education), and I'm comfortable with public speaking. But inately, I'm shy. I have to make myself open up in new situations, and find my comfort level. Once I'm feeling comfortable, I'm fine, but until then... When I was in high school, you would either find me in the middle of the action, or observing from the sidelines. Guess I'm just a vast contradiction. :rotfl2:

One of my biggest projects is that I have been busy around the house lately painting the kitchen and rehanging some of my Disney plates again - I'm happy to announce that the kitchen is finally done! I did something different - painted a pale blue ceiling in a mostly white kitchen just to see what it would look like and it's not bad! Topped it off with a ceiling molding and I'm happy with it - sure hope it's the last room I decide to change around here. Thank goodness my road trips are coming up so I can stop.

The kitchen sounds great!

We still have to repaint our kitchen and the kids bath, since the previous owners thought that flat paint was a great idea in those two rooms, and who really needs a backsplash in a kitchen anyway... :rotfl:

You know, after reading everyone's favorite Disney movies, I keep thinking, I can't even just pick 3. To tell you the truth, there are very few Disney movies that I didn't like. I LOVE THEM ALL!!!!

I'm with Amy. I refuse to answer this question on the grounds that I may insult a favorite movie by not including it.

Two movies I love that I haven't seen mentioned:

The Parent Trap (the original)
Pollyanna

Most definitely. Hasn't everyone heard people talking about how great a movie is, and then been disappointed when you see it? Or seen the movie first, and liked it way more than you thought you would?

I think that we sometimes build things up to unrealistic expectations, and then we're disappointed when fantasy can't meet reality. I'm trying to keep my expectations low-key for the cruise. I think it will be a fun time if we just "go with the flow", and take things as they come. And if DVC hasn't planned enough "good stuff", we'll just plan our own! :goodvibes

My three favorite Disney movies are:

1. Beauty and the Beast (see my signature)
2. Finding Nemo
3. Summer Magic (showing my age here...what's not to love about Burl Ives singing "The Ugly Bug Ball?"

I'm worried that after having been on the 10 day Christmas Cruise and then the 14 day PC cruise, that getting kicked off after only 4 nights is going to be a major letdown.

I second that!

I noticed the question was already raised on another thread that since the Magic couldn't go into Cabo were the passengers getting something for having missed the port. Believe me, the last thing I would want to do is sit in the harbor and even attempt to get on a tender to go into shore. I probably would have paid DCL to NOT GO INTO Cabo! Of course, at that point, I would have been so sick from the seas I would be willing to go anywhere except Cabo.

By the way.........everyone by now must have received their cruise documents...........because..............

WE GOT OURS YESTERDAY!!!!

Not like there was anything in them that I needed.

Oh well....................at least I got them and it's official. But unfortunately, we didn't get upgrade for free to the Walt suite.

Aren't you the one who gets their documents last? That means we are all good to go :boat:

You didn't get the upgrade to the Walt Suite because they are planning on upgrading me to the Walt Suite :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: And when they do all my old and new DVC friends can stay there too! Hey, the first sleep over in the Walt Suite!

My sister and her dh are on the repo cruise - I'm sure she has used up her box of Bonine in just one day :teeth: Sounds like some major waves!

I am there with ya on that one, Linda. I keep thinking that 4 nights just isn't enough of a cruise. And, I've only been on a 7 night. But, alas, I'm sure it will be a fantastic 4 nights. Plus, several of us are going to WDW for at least a few days after, to extend our fun.
